This article reminds everyone that while this week in North America we have enjoyed Canada Day and are in the middle of July 4th, over in Europe there is a new Governor of the Bank Of England, Mark Carney. He recently left his position as the Governor of the Bank Of Canada to much praise but now what will he be able to accomplish over in England and how will the Bank Of Canada fair without its leader of 6 years.

I was chatting with a German, responsible for exporting machine tools from a German company into Russia, and he said Russia is withdrawing its use of its Syrian port in order to allow US troops into Syria without confrontation. I have seen no confirmation of this anywhere.

A US senator from New Jersey, Robert Menendez, the Democratic chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told the Ecuadoran government that he would block the import of vegetables and flowers from Ecuador if Ecuador gives asylum to Edward Snowden. The cost to Ecuador would be one billion dollars in lost revenues.
Yeh, Right! With sensitive politicians like this, who needs enemies?
Canada will not miss Mark Carney as much as we would our finance minister Jim Flaherty, who has done a supreme job and he’s got another gift, the luck of the Irish. If you are Irish you know how to make the right moves on the dance floor and in life. DT
