Renewable energy, as an investment sector, is where the young folks should be looking to put some retirement money. I don’t see the sector really getting main stream for about ten, maybe fifteen years out. I figure the renewables in my portfolio will be the stocks I cash in when I need to pay for nursing home care. LOL. Dollar cost average all positions. About a third defensive in the producer, dividend paying, utility segment. A third in the technology growers, and, since the green technology needs equipment and materials – the suppliers are where one may find near term rewards to keep things interesting while the renewable sector gets its legs and starts growing for real.
