Well according to the conspiracy theorists, the attack never happened. It was a false flag.

    Hello all,

FWIW, I don’t agree w. Chris’ views that these events might slow consumption in France or in Europe.
Reason for me thinking so is that when I look at where the events occurred, if I was a random person in France, I wouldn’t mind going out as usual, and spending as usual. Simply put, my spending patterns wouldn’t be altered. However, if I was a member of the Jewish community (1% of the french population) – which I am not – maybe I would feel different.

Now, if we start to see a pattern of restaurants and public places bombed or man starting to shoot in these kind of places at random, I’ll change my mind. But not until then.

Now, a few words to Al,
First of all, I hope all is well.
You said in this podcast you “haven’t seen the outcry from the muslims folks”.
What do you listen to and what do you read ???? What kind of media do you follow ??? You can’t be serious, are you ???
Let me tell you what I have come across simply over the past 2 days by reading broad news:
    1) Hezbollah and Hamas firmly condemned these actions (Friday)
    2) HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal firmaly condemning these acts in a USA today interview w. Maria Bartimoro
    3) Imam of Drancy (outskirts of Paris) was present at the gathering outside of the Kosher supermarket on Saturday to mourn the victims (a gathering attended by French Prime Minister)
    4) a gathering of muslims in Gaza (occupied Palestine) in front of the Gaza offices of the Institut Francais, making a speech against terrorism and sending prayers for the victims of these acts.
    5) pleeeennnnnty of muslims present at the march yesterday in Paris

So I am sorry to put it bluntly, but again Al, what are you reading/listening to in order to say that you haven’t seen an outcry ?

Irrespective of my points above, I am sorry but I TRULY don’t understand why muslims should stand up and condemn these act. Otherwise it would mean what ? That those who don’t are terrorists or support terrorism ?

When innocents muslim civilians are killed in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Mali – I’ll stop here – by army personnel from our respective western governments, do you feel that you, as a Christian have to stand-up and condemn these actions? Or if you don’t, would that make you a complicit or our governments’ actions ?

Sorry but I can’t stand this argument of “muslims need to show/say they condemn” these acts. To ask for this simply show that you don’t know (or understand) many of them, and that’s a very sad thing.

I’ll conclude this post with an article from Glenn Greenwald:

    Enjoy the reading,

    Best to all,

The American consumers has been crushed.

Year over year retail sales are not so good

Earnings per share of the multinationals are being held up via stock buy buys, not top line revenue growth.

Our dearly Wall Street ‘banks’, with their exotic investment instruments leveraged to the gills and trillions more, are hanging on by the grace of Fed-speak.

Well by golly, I’m thinking they need a boogie (any boogie man will do) to show up and confuse the public of the causal affects of supply and demand when the invisible hand of true market overcomes all this chicanery. Thus I wonder terrorism is a false flag often waived on a timely basis to redirect our attention from the economic realities and the cumulative affect of nearly a decade of market distortions..

    Well said LPG.
I value Al’s opinions on gold and financial matters, but Al’s perceptive on social and environmental issues is very narrow and ill considered.
Stick to the financial subjects buddy.

      Hello Texas Tim,

To me, Kereport is Al’s baby – so he can decide to do whatever he wishes to do(say) with(in) it – and I am TRULY very grateful we can post our opinions and thT they don’t get deleted/censored afterwards. I highly value that “freedom” and command Al for allowing this. TRULY.

FWIW, I don’t necessarily agree with him and others on some topics – be they financial or not – but again I value the capability to be able to exchange, if not express, ideas/opinions here. To me, exchanges bread “progress” – “progress” in the sense that maybe, by exchanging views, some people understand that maybe their perspective is just this: a perspective – and not a given truth (ie: change the perspective and the “truth” might change).

Having said that, I also totally understand your perspective re: social/environment issues and your willingness to have him stick to financial topics/subjects.
Personally, and fwiw, there are topics here and there that I don’t comment on although I’d love to – I exercise self-restraint :-). But sometimes, I jump in as I feel “I have to”.

Now, I again personally understand that this degree of freedom on Kereport leads to sometimes views being expressed that I will disagree with, on matters that are non PMs/financials/economics. That doesn’t bother me as I CAN express my views if I disagree. And to me, this type of website more VALUABLE than a website that is SOLELY dedicated to financial matters and which would potentially “sensor” non-financial related comments.
BUT AGAIN, I understand other listeners might feel differently, and would prefer a more “stick to finance/economics” website/podcasts.

Best to you, and to all.

Europeans are not going to change their way of living – be it going out shopping, for meals or whatever, because of the Islamic nutjobs.

The UK suffered for 25 years from IRA terrorism with people being murdered in numerous bomb explosions. Ditto the French and Spanish with their own brand of small-minded, petty thugs planting bombs and killing people.
