Rallies like the one that greeted the day yesterday didn’t routinely used to fail, at least not until recently. On Monday the Dow was up about 50 points in the first hour, extending Friday’s giddy waft, when sellers showed up and turned the morning’s gains into an eventual 80-point loss. Yes, we’ve noticed the lack of buying interest lately. But the hallmark of this bull market has been its ability to move relentlessly higher regardless of whether there was strong buying interest. Short-covering and an almost complete absence of dedicated sellers held the key. Not any longer, evidently. The bull is struggling and perhaps dying. We still think the broad averages will hit new all-time highs before the curtain rings down. But if and when that happens, we’ll be eager to get short at every promising Hidden Pivot target. Delusion and folly have had their run. Now it’s time for a bracing dose of reality.

The Bull Market Is Finally Starting to Act Its Age
April 14, 2015
Good philosophy, Machine Gun
Good thoughts to look at how a stock responds when selling pressure arrives. Is it resilient or is it fickle.
As an example, the strength in Claude Resources lately in the face of falling metal prices in March, and even on down days, the dips are brief and then it rallies back strongly. This is encourage to see, and when there is a meaningful correction that takes it down a peg, I’ll be stepping back in.
Good thoughts from Rick A. and I love the last 2 lines:

Dear Big AL,
Please take good care of yourself at a time of important health problems
and ignore the frivolous incidents on the forums unless it becomes problematic
as we did experience this last week. You know its never going to be perfect
and maybe we need a little more loving care when there is reason to believe
a fellow poster is provoking a conflict. Once the conversations and debates
are found unfriendly and unpolite that should be the red flag to speak up only
if its to say…please be more polite and respectful. I believe a few kind words
can go a long way to keep the respect between all of us. Your judgment Big
AL has been excellent and it’s somethjng you will find the answers to. Just
a suggestion from me. Matthew does a lot of postings here and brings a
wealth of information here. He is not a conflictive person. In fact, he will
always act out of respect but these accusations against him need to stop.
Matthew can’t post without an attack against him. This applies to everyone
regardless to be polite and friendly. Another idea would be to appoint someone
who is very honest and trustworthy in here posting most of the time as a
“Moderator ” and the title added to their name. Jerry is a great guy and would
make things much better in here. As one example but that person needs to be
a real humanitarian and kind hearted person. You need to take the pressures off
you Big AL. All suggestions but you know best. I do apologize for anything I may
have caused you as well defending myself or otherwise.
Also, I believe with regard to all of us here not to be suggesting innocence when
really all of us are all guilty until proven innocent. Keep a critical eye open because
it’s easy to be taken in by deception. None of us our perfect. Maybe do an editorial
briefly explaining and welcome back any that are upset. Think about a moderator
too Big AL. Problem solved !! Very possible.
Sincerely and truly yours,
Heavy

Did you not read H’s post, Al?
Of course I did.
It fell into the category of a personal attack.
Big AL…please… I’m asking you to now kindly delete my post
to you. If you find an apology for something I may or may have
not committed disturbing to you then I’m definitely in very poor
company here.
Many good people have quit this site and for good reasons obviously.
Rebuilding a new group of posters is something you have decided on.
Which is perfectly fine and your prerogative.
Not at all, just looking for some cooperation.
Perhap I am a bit sensitive at this point.
Long live the J THE LONG.
I recon so Big AL I was just trying to be thoughtful
and sympathetic. Making a few suggestions for
good or bad. Hope you get well soon and you make
the correct decisions in here to keep it respectful.
Reducing the participants or participations in the
commentary can keep it contained. May not hurt,
might help. One strategy anyway !!!! Problem solved.

It is a pleasure, Frank. Spaseeba!
Just do the best you can, Frank.
I think this bull is exhausted. It probably will go a bit higher but the upside risk just isn’t worth it IMPO.
I think it has finally run out of energy.
This is interesting information
Rick, when I watch how a stock I like trades, first I look for volume but then I watch to see how a stock performs after the sellers have entered the market to take profit, if the stock slips initially but quickly recovers I am interested enough to take a small position but if it’s trading chart shows wild swings I will only exit, slow but steady is so important and this applies to the broader market as well.
