I completely agree with your comment, Professor!
I’m not a Christian and have no affiliation with the Roman Catholic church, but I was a University professor and have questioned students’ background education, from time to time. This is anecdotal and may be due to insufficient sampling size, but it is my experience the students from a catholic school background are better grounded in Math and English skills, than students from regular City/County schools.
Forthermorem if one looks at the relative costs of such education, catholic schools are substantially less than half the cost of local government controlled schools.
(One caveat on such comment, is that parents able to afford catholic schools are richer than average, and IQ does correlate with wealth, or is it vice versa.)
You may be right about the proficiency of the students math and English skills but we’re not comparing apples to apples when comparing the cost of public education vs. Catholic. Many of the teachers are Nuns and I don’t think they draw much of a salary. Obviously, personnel costs are the majority cost in public education. JMO
Surprising, in one example in Indiana, while teacher salaries were very low, compared with public schools, it was also true that male teachers about equalled female teachers. I do not have enough exposure nation-wide to know if that was abnormal.
If you are referring to public vs private schools, that is often the case. To teach in a private school, the teacher has to be really dedicated. Not saying that all public school teachers are not dedicated is not true. There is a hell of a lot of dead wood though in public schools. Thank you, NEA!
Kathy and I feel exactly the same way. I would not say just Catholic schools but generally most private schools regardless of faith based or not.
When our girls started school, even though we had to make some hard choices, we went them to private catholic schools and did not purchase the big house on the hill. At that time it was about a pushd for us financially.
My youngest daughter lived with us for five years. When we moved down to Vancouver, Wa she started in a public school. She came home one day in tears and told us that she was being bullied because she did not want to join the girls in the bathroom smoking pot. We went to the principal and he told us to get used to it because that was true life.
She was enrolled in St Joseph’s the next day.
Ask me some time why I am a bit on the conservative side.
Had I had that experience, I’d likely feel the way you do. That principal should never had been one obviously. I believe in many public districts, things are improving. He was a bad apple, to be discarded, certainly. But, not quite like those Catholic priests who’s pervert actions were exposed. Seems to be some spoilage in every bin.
Well, of course, there is “some spoilage in evry bin”” Slverdollar
I one of my girls had been abused in school, trust me, I would have done a hell of a lot more than complain as I did in my oldest daughter’s case. As you can probably tell I can be very vcal.
OFF TOPIC.

Fantastic news , so long as the US does not cock it up.
Very unfortunately Mr. Irish I agree with your comment. I have a couple of pertinent questions and they are:
Did Russia play a role in this potentially wonderful event?
Did Trump possibly play a role in this potential event.
An opinion on this should be very shortly forthcoming.
I mention the possibility about a week ago in this forum. My information was that it was China’s influence that caused the possibility.
The ultimate goal is re-unification.
The main impediment, other than fatboy Kim wanting to maintain a significant leadership role, is the sheer cost of bringing the standard of living up in North Korea to avert mass migration to South Korea. But every advance always starts with one first step.
It would appear from what I read today that the U.S. did engage in some secret meetings over there.
Thanks for bringing on the Dr.
Economists run into problems when they start engaging in ratiocination.
Honest and conscientious truth seekers know that reason and scientific research cannot answer all the questions.
There are always the immutable laws of the Universe.
‘ratiocination’ blimey I had to look that up, not a word you hear every day
I am glad that you enjoyed Carmen’s interview.(at least I assume that you did.)
She had some interesting comments about Dr. Krugman off mike.
Talk about judicial corruption!
This is getting to be way to much, …….
Thanks for the link CFS and, Jerry, it got to be too much a long time ago.
It is crazy everywhere. For example on our radio show I try to show both sides of a story and I have some people who accuse me of spreading false information. My comment is it may be false. but it is someone’s opinion.
Political discussions are crazy because I have found that everyone seems to have to be the prettiest baby in the nursery. (I am right and you are crazy.)
I may very well start drinking again!
Al, the reason I became upset is because, while you say you listen to both sides, it really doesn’t look that way.
An example:
The other day you asked Mr. Moriarty for a clarification of the point that Russia is legally in Syria, while the US is not. If you were listening to the various sides of the story, how did you miss such a fundamental fact about the situation in a 5- or 6-year old war? Could Mr. McKinney also be unaware of this??
In the context of 5-7 million dead in US wars of the 21st century, and what we know of US history of false flag events, such lack of due diligence is more than a little problematic.
I’m calmer now. I simply have to accept the fact that no matter how much research I and likeminded others do, and no matter the quality of information posted, it simply doesn’t get through to most. Hopefully it gets through to some, and eventually the ‘hundredth monkey’ effect will kick in.
How Many People Has the U.S. Killed in its Post-9/11 Wars? Part 2: Afghanistan and Pakistan
Nicolas J.S. Davies
April 3, 2018
“Adding these figures to my estimate of Afghan combatants killed on both sides, we can make a rough estimate that about 875,000 Afghans have been killed since 2001, with a minimum of 640,000 and a maximum of 1.4 million.”
“A reasonable mid-point estimate would be that about 325,000 people have been killed in Pakistan as a result of the U.S. War in Afghanistan spilling across its borders.
Combining my estimates for Afghanistan and Pakistan, I estimate that about 1.2 million Afghans and Pakistanis have been killed as a result of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.”
(Recall, his best estimate for Iraq in part one of this series was 2.4 million.)
NEVER SAY THAT I REFUSE TO ADMIT A MISTAKE. I MADE A MISTAKE AND THAT IS THAT THE CURRENT SYRIAN GOVERNMENT WAS LEGALLY ELECTED REGARDLESS OF CONFLICTING OPINIONS.
THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS UP GH!
“My comment is it may be false. but it is someone’s opinion.”
My comment is that all of our wars are preceded by propaganda campaigns. Some ‘opinions’ are just damn lies.
After so many deceptions (e.g. Iraq WMD, Libya ‘liberation’, 2013 & 2017 Syria gas attacks, many others), and the responsible Neocon criminals still in power, any new causus belli should be subject to the most intense scrutiny.
One doesn’t need to advocate war; just let the war propaganda go unchallenged, and war will follow as surely as night follows day.
This should be very good:

“Chris Emery and James Perloff’s film ShadowRing… An expose on the history and present day influence of America’s shadow oligarchy, including the Council on Foreign Relations’ domination of Presidential cabinets and policy, the debauching of our economy by the Federal Reserve, the use of false flags to embroil us in wars, media control, and the ultimate goal of world government.”
I happen to agree about your logical need for causus belli.
Trump should just fire Mueller and Rosenstein right now.
IF, 80% of the attorneys are Dems.(according to Alex)….this country is in serious trouble……
Hi Al, just wanted to say I actually love KER politics, not that Cory isn’t doing a good job, it’s just that sometimes there is not too much to say about the markets, so I hope you continue with KER politics as well
Thanks Nigel and Jerry, In some form I plan to.
Excelsior, do you have an opinion on this?
Agree 100% with you Nigel…..
Thank you
Glad that you are participating with us…………thank you…..

Sounds like the human body can be parted out for about $1 million. When there are people who will murder you for a cell phone, you better believe there are those willing to satisfy this demand.
“Psychopathy & sociopathy
1% of the general population are psychopaths
Dr. Robert Hare, Criminal psychology researcher, Creator of the PCL-R
4% of Americans are sociopaths
Dr. Martha Stout, Harvard University psychologist
In the 2005 book, “The Sociopath Next Door” Harvard University psychologist
Martha Stout claims one out of every 25 people in America is a sociopath. She
defines sociopath as a person with no conscience.
5-15% of Americans are Almost psychopaths
Dr. Ronald Schouten, Associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical
School
Ronald Schouten refers to the “almost psychopaths” in his book “Almost a
Psychopath”
”
GH — Even if it’s 1%, that’s more than 3 million people.
Great points…………..GH…………
Of The 3 million people which are psychopaths……..and there are 2 million govt workers…..
We can almost guarantee ……..the majority of the higher ups, are PSYCHOPATHS.
Likewise at the top of corporations and NGOs, I imagine. The MIC CEOs almost have to be psycho.
Taking it a step further, if we assume no correlation between psychopathy and intelligence, then of the 3 million psychos, 30,000 are in the most intelligent 1%…Do you suppose, that over time, people this intelligent, with no scruples, might link up and form a powerful multi-generational, multi-century mafia?
What % on Wall Street?
Cheryl Mills (Clinton’s Attorney) Never investigated by FBI, but given immunity!
An email retrieved by Julian Assange’s Wikileaks revealed that top Clinton aide Cheryl Mills forwarded a message containing talk of sacrificing a “chicken” to Moloch.
The word “chicken” is code for a prepubescent male.
“With fingers crossed, the old rabbit’s foot out of the box of the attic,” the email reads. “I will be sacrificing a chicken in the backyard to Moloch.”
Moloch is mentioned as a Canaanite god associated with child sacrifice. The Bible refers to this false god as a “detestable idol” in 1 Kings 11:7, “Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable idol of Moab, on the mountain which is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the detestable idol of the sons of Ammon.”
Child sacrifice was a common practice of the cult that worshiped Moloch. This is strictly forbidden (of course) by God in Lev. 18:21, 20:2-5, 2 Kings 23:10 and Jer. 32:35
Revelations 21 vs 8
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
We are studying Revelation now and I certainly cannot disagree with your quote
thanks for the post….CFS……
+1, good post, CFS
If pedogate isn’t for real, what is the alternative explanation for all the weird code words in the Clinton/Obama circles’ emails? Did the media ever give one?
Or did they kill the story with a propaganda blitz? Lots more like Weinstein and worse in the mass media. Are they covering for others beside themselves? Of course they are. Look at the Jimmy Saville connection to the British royal family, for instance. It goes to the top.
Good point GH……..
I am not aware of an alternative explanation. Of course we would never have known, except for Assange leaking the emails. Every check possible of the leaked emails has shown Assange was truthful.

Of course, Carmen Elena is correct in saying the goverment tries to eliminate competition.
They have to, simply because if competition was permitted, it would be immediately obvious what an inefficient and generally pathetic job that a government does.
