I tend t disagree with Dr. Bukacek. Is she not stating exactly what used to happen with the flu. That is to say that someone with a comorbidity gets the flu and dies; then the death is attributed to the flu rather than the comorbidity.
Now almost no deaths are being assigned to the flu, but to covid-19.
Indeed, there is good evidence that in November and December 2019, there were many deaths assigned to an early flu season, which were, in fact, due to an unrecognized, at that time, covid-19.

The major difference between what I understand to be your beliefs and mine is that the bioweapon was released in Wuhan accidentally by the Chinese in late October, instead of deliberately by a deep state group of Americans. Webb says the bioweapon was made in the U.S., but we have publications from China also saying the virus lab in Wuhan was using CRISPR techniques.
I believe there is about as much circumstantial evidence against the Chinese as there is as against the U.S. I just don’t buy intentional release by the U.S. I am concerned about Fauci being an advisor to trump, however.
Jerry, the reason I don’t believe it was a deliberate release by the American deep state at the Wuhan military games, as opposed to an accidental release by the Chinese is the predictable effect it will have on the U.S. military. As someone who has been modeling covid-19 in order to project the future track of the disease, it is absolutely certin that at the beginning both the CDC and the WHO had not the foggiest idea of the numbers of infections or deaths.
Even when it was positive that there was community spread of the disease, the WHO denied that person-to-person spread by aerosol was impossible for 6 further weeks.
Or if you believe statistically possible from the cruise ship results it was denied for over 2 months.
I, myself, not an M.D., said for a month or so, it appeared that asymptomatic spread was possible for weeks before that was accepted by the medical community.
It, in fact, seemed impossible to me that school children, even if they could not catch the disease with high probability, they would play a part in its spread.
Let’s face it both the WHO and CDC, were incompetent at best, and maliciously played a significant part in the contagion of covid-19 at worst.
It is certainly clear that the WHO, in its incompetence, did not err on the side of caution and actually contributed to much of the disease in the U.S. by virtue of false statements, that it SHOULD HAVE KNOWN were false.
The models that produced projections of death rates were far from accurate, because the numbers out of China were substantially incorrect, and because the original date of spread to the U.S. was two months earlier than thought. Any model stood little chance of being close to correct without being able to include asymptomatic spread, and it is tragic to the economy that major political decisions were made, based on totally incorrect models. Both the WHO and the CDC are responsible for the incorrect data input to the models.

I can tell you, being a bike rider (by choice and necessity since I must get the exercise for my health plus it can be a convenient form of transportation in some circumstances), I find his rig very interesting. Judging by the speed, I’d say he must have an electric assist. What do you think?

Thanks, Jerry. I haven’t had a chance yet as I’ve been cleaning out my CPU heatsink and fan. The weather is starting to get warm so have to make sure my CPU doesn’t burn up…but actually the system should shutdown if it gets too hot. Had that happen a few years ago due to dust in the heatsink. Amazingly, I’ve had this rig for ten years and still running strong. Upgraded some of the components such as getting an SSD. If the worst happens I can always go to my tablets or phone…or work PC.
Speaking of SSDs there are now USB 3.1 SSD so you get SSD speed on a thumb drive. Actually been out for quite a while. I got this one a month ago.

Bonzo, I do not think the higher quality oil stocks that you’ve mentioned will retest their lows. They have held up well as oil pulled back to the low $20s again which tells me that oil priced in this area won’t last long.
Interestingly, most of the big producers are at or near all-time highs when priced in oil rather than dollars. CVX shares, for example, are worth about 9 times more oil today than in the summer of 2008.
Back in 1980 silver and oil were both@50, Now silver is much cheaper.

I personally will admit that I thought we would get retest of lows in the PMs markets. We still may do. The reason being is the overall sentiment throughout the worlds financial markets is still very jittery and sensitive to possible bad news relating to covid-19. And with this pandemic still far from over, there is still plenty of bad news out there. Of course all the initial sell-offs we witnessed a month or so ago was before the worldwide stimulus packages were in place and this factor is doing well to prop up gold, silver and the miners.
If the crash in gold and silver is already done it is perhaps a sign of the times. With all of the outrageous money creation we are witnessing in such a short period of time, comparing this crisis to the GFC is null and void. The anti-deflationists seem so much more prevalent and fearful now than in 2008 and for good cause. The world cannot shake its debt addiction and the only way for the addict to survive at this stage is more drugs.

I think the crash in the gold miners is done because it was really just a backtest of a breakout that was nearly ten years in the making. This goes back to my “fractal” ramblings on the 14th and 16th of March. In a nutshell, the crash wasn’t big relative to the giant pattern in play. The fantastic looking quarterly and yearly charts continue to back-up my theory. As I stated on the 16th: “We will know that I am wrong about all this if the miners end up languishing from here on a monthly scale rather than delivering obvious progress.”

Yeh I get that Matthew but the margin call affect would still come into play if a fresh negative development were to arise out of this pandemic. Rational or not, one cannot eliminate that possibility.
I’m betting that those now long are quite strong so margin calls will have much less of an impact. They sure do not apply to me and didn’t last time.

For what its worth Matthew, I hope your right. Your analysis is more extensive and better than mine and for that I appreciate your contributions. I tend to look at things also from an emotional and instinctive perspective (not suggesting others do not). I know to mix emotion with business is sometimes fraught with danger. But it is why I remain cautious in such times. Once bitten, twice shy right?
Slightly off topic, I am really concerned where we are heading from an economic perspective. It is only through this covid-19 fallout that I now gain an accurate outlook of what our esteemed leaders are willing to do in terms of money creation. We live in truly unprecedented times. Some stats: In Australia, we fared comparatively well in the aftermath of the GFC in 2008-09. Hence our governement “only” spent $60 billion to stimulate our nations economy over the course of 12 months. Since our first stimulus response out of this pandemic only 5 weeks ago, our overall stimulus package sits at $240 billion. Of course theres still alot to play out in the interim. Some economists predict that our tiny economy which only represents 1-2% of global GDP could be indebted by upto $1 trillion. This sh*tstorm is now so much worse than the GFC. Partly because no country has proven to be immune to this crisis but also because no country also remedied their greed from 2008. In fact it has been allowed to get worse. Big business is who runs the countrys all for their own hidden agendas, hence why we find ourselves overwhelmed with debt. It is also why the very apt slogan: “We are all in this together” is so convenient. Globalisation and an ever complex web of interconnectedness has played its role in this mess. Tough times ahead for many!
There’s good reason to be concerned about the economy. It seems a done deal that we’re in for the worst recession since the 1930s and possibly worse than that considering the excesses this time. Massive debt, massive government, massive inflation, massively ignorant population, what could go wrong?

In, fact, with the exception of China, the numbers reported by official bodies (CDC in the US), NS in the UK, and corresponding bodies in Australia, New Zealand, France, Italy, Germany, etc for 183 of the 184 countries with infections are publishing as accurate numbers as they can.
I have NEVER relied on just one source for my numbers, but have monitored ALL sources including the WHO.

(I would disagree about the amount of zinc, sightly, since only about half of the population is dietary deficient in zinc, 30 mG should suffice.
I don’t know what all you’ve posted but I’ve never doubted that some approaches are effective. I’ve known about zinc’s benefits for decades. One that I have not seen mentioned here is high quality colostrum. In my extensive experience with it, it stops the common cold and sore throats in in their tracks if taken when you feel the first symptoms and I don’t doubt that it would work just as well on this “new” virus.

I also take 30mg of Zn, selenium, iodine, 3 grams of vitamin C, 5000 IU of D3, 5000 IU of vit A, 300 mg of alpha lipoic acid, NAC, melatonin, spirulina, B-complex, oil of oregano,and garlic daily. With all that, no cold or flu virus has messed with me since 2010. They go look for an easier target. I did buy more PSLV today so it will probably sink tomorrow.
