Sydney Williams comments on The Debate

October 1, 2020

Sydney M. Williams 30 Bokum Road – Apartment 314 Essex, CT 06426 www.swtotd.blogspot.com Thought of the Day “The Debate” October 1, 2020 “I love argument, I love debate. I don’t expect anyone just to sit there and agree with me; that’s not their job.” Margaret Thatcher (`1925- 2013) Interview, 1980 The Telegraph When I awoke on Wednesday morning, I received the following from a friend, a former British jurist now retired and living in Switzerland: “There can be no greater symbol of American decline than the sight of those two elderly gentlemen slugging it out without dignity or sell-restraint.” It is hard to disagree with my friend’s assessment, and it is remarkable how far removed from Margaret Thatcher we have come. While it is likely that Mr. Trump did not pick up undecided voters, I suspect more damage was done to Mr. Biden. Mr. Trump played the role he has played for the past four and a half years – a crude, unabashed disruptor of political norms. On the other hand, Joe Biden, who has been largely invisible for the last few months, confirmed concerns of those who worry about his mental acuity. While most of his comments and answers were lucid, he stumbled over words and phrases, and his eyes, especially as time went on, took on a glazed, empty look. Mr. Trump is rude, while Mr. Biden is not well. The first we have known for years; the second we are just realizing. In what I thought was one of the better analyses of the debate, Conrad Black, in the New York Sun, wrote: “President Trump could have won decisively if he had just followed Napoleon’s famous advice not to ‘interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.’” While Mr. Biden was effective when he spoke to the camera, when he spoke for longer than a minute or so, his clarity became befogged, and he stumbled over what words came next. Thus, President Trump’s interruptions saved him from further embarrassment. Issues remain: COVID-19, the economy; riots in blue-run cities versus law and order, the Supreme Court, climate and the Green New Deal, illegal immigration, China, Russia and the Middle East. While voters know where Mr. Trump stands on these issues and what he has done, they received little insight as to what Mr. Biden would do. Mr. Trump was accused for not condemning far-right, white supremacists. That is not precisely true if one reads the transcript. Interestingly, Chris Wallace did not ask Mr. Biden to condemn left-wing extremists like Antifa, which is an “idea, not an organization,” according to Mr. Biden. Trump was Trump, so probably did not lose many supporters. On the other hand, Biden, at times, looked frail and confused, though he did manage to cross the finish line. The fact that handshakes are forbidden in this time of COVID-19 removed even the perception of unity and civility. There were no winners in Tuesday’s brawl in Cleveland between two aging white men, but there were losers – the American people.

Hispanic viewers believe that President Donald Trump won the Sept. 29 debate, according to a poll conducted by Telemundo television.

The opinion poll carried out through Twitter, during the debate, asked users: “Who won the first presidential debate?”

The results showed that 66% believed that Trump, while 34% believed that he was the Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden.

Thanks Jerry, I am not surprised at all. I still think that it was a terrible debate.

CNN, the Commie News Network is so pro-Biden, it censors any criticism of Biden.

Mr. Stormy Biden is having his mid morning walk around the track…His handler will reduce the amount of oats and increase the content of cloves and alfalfa in the diet regimen…..The hope is that this change along with an incremental increase in walking distances to over 12 furlongs is that the stamina factor will resolve…Veterinarian blood tests showed that although the steroidal level was sufficient it was not optimal…Therefore, that will be titrated to a bit higher mg/ kg level…..Also, no adverse direct affect was reported due to the amphetamine level and that will be sustained as is…It is thought that Mr. Biden may have had a previous training history of amphetamine use due to the rapid rate of clearing that was measured……Trainers are hopeful that these minor changes along with the fact of only 10 furlongs in the next Derby contest will be sufficient……Mr.Biden was reported to have slept well following the Belmont event and trainers remain optimistic and are seeking high tech. solutions for the remaining deficits…

she’s one of the many he didn’t fire at the beginning of his administration.

He would never have had the trouble he’s had if he had fired a thousand or two like Obama did on taking office.

            Oct 01, 2020 01:55 AM

Seems to me, she Haspel was endorsed by some of his associates,,,,,,
Seems odd, if, Trump knew there was a DEEP STATE, why, he kept the biggest Snake in the Pit.(poor advisors, or preplanned by trusted advisors)
I am wondering, IF, Kelly Ann Conway, with her husband, are not
in the scheme together, since, she has been around since the STARR investigation.
Seems funny she took to the hills, just before election.

Here’s an interesting comment that I came across elsewhere:

I’m a retired Neurologist. Here’s the rest of the story no one talks about:
In 1988 Joe had a near-fatal burst cerebral aneurysm and he underwent a major emergency brain surgery to clip a bleeding aneurysm at the base of the brain. He had a 50-50 chance of survival. Few months later he had another craniectomy to preventively clip an unruptured aneurysm on the other side of the brain. It took about 7 months for him to “recover” but we don’t have any info on the neuro deficits he had during that time but I suspect he at least may have had APHASIA. There have been no reports of formal cognitive testing or brain imaging since then—and I know he had to have it. In 2014 he had a CT angiogram that was negative for recurrent brain aneurysms but interestingly NO report of brain imaging which would have been done routinely at the same time.

In addition to all of that, no one discusses his subsequent development of atrial fibrillation for which he takes Eliquis which is a blood thinner to prevent blood clots forming in the atrium of the heart from going to the brain to cause strokes. He could be having “silent'” mini-strokes. He is at risk for bleeding. I suspect that the subconjunctival hemorrhage he had in one of his eyes at a primary debate was a complication of his anticoagulant medication. His 3-page general medical exam report of 12/2019 did not have a detailed neuro exam and no cognitive testing.

Because Joe’s handlers refuse to come clean on his neurological history concerning his cognitive/language deficits, Joe is the object of ridicule. It’s unfortunate that his “loving” wife downplays Joe’s cognitive problems …”if he misspeaks one word…they don’t’…” They don’t–What? She knows what’s going on but dutifully hides it…WHY? What loving wife would subject her ill husband to such ridicule and risk our country to be led by someone so incompetent? I doubt that Joe has any routine household responsibilities such as household finances/bill paying.

In addition to his obvious memory problems, confusion, disorientation and loss of attention span, he exhibits the language disorder of APHASIA with short incomplete sentences, nonsense sentences, paraphasic errors such as “voter registration physician”…with wrong word substitution, nonsense words, sound substitutions with words such as Donald “Humpf” or “advertaries.” He has frequent word “searching” where he can’t come up with the correct word or forgets the words entirely. His aphasia could be a decompensation from his previous brain injuries in 1988 or be due to or, exacerbated by, “silent” strokes from his atrial fib or, a symptom of Alzheimer’s dementia which he could have in addition to “vascular” dementia. It’s perfectly clear to any casual observer and certainly to any honest physician, esp. a Neurologist, that he is not FIT to be POTUS.

We could demand Cognitive screening tests of Biden like the Montreal Cognitive Assessment that Trump volunteered to take because the Leftists badgered Trump that he was not mentally fit. Trump aced the test. Biden’s handlers would have to find a doctor who would LIE about the test results. So what would be the point? We should demand imaging of the brain which would be hard to fake since he would have artifacts of two aneurysm clips. I’m curious to see how much brain damage (encephalomalacia) he has from his surgeries/hemorrhage of 1988 and any additional focal strokes (infarcts) from his a. fib. American people have the right to know the condition of Joe’s brain and his brain function GIVEN HIS MEDICAL HISTORY. This is FAR, FAR more crucial than knowing any presidential candidate’s tax statements.

important …no one is talking about this angle Matthew

      Oct 01, 2020 01:02 PM

It’s called a stutter Mathew. He’s had it his entire life.

        Oct 01, 2020 01:10 PM

You’re grasping at straws. Regardless, his extremely inappropriate behavior with children AND adults cannot be denied, only ignored. The hypocrisy of the virtue-signaling morally inferior left is as strong as it’s ever been.

          Oct 01, 2020 01:45 PM

Dream on…make that fabricate on Matthew. Your nostalgia for a righteous right of long ago which never existed has you floundering on the rocks of total fabrication. You hate the country that the right has wrought. You hate yourself.

A party of the left doesn’t exist in this country. Only center right Dems and righty right Repubs. A choice between corporatist democrats and crypto fascist republicans is no choice at all.

You know this but being a moral coward can’t admit it.

            Oct 01, 2020 01:51 PM

You’re projecting, Blazesb, the floundering is all you and you’re wrong about everything you just posted.
What YOU are too cowardly to admit is the FACT that the left at its BEST is immoral since it runs on the violation of our natural rights and does so arbitrarily, to add insult to injury. It is the precise opposite of fairness or of anything good. Furthermore, unlike lazy ignoramuses like you (and Chartster), I know exactly what’s wrong with today’s right, and, in a nutshell, it’s that it has become so LEFT.

Some timeless truths for those capable of receiving them (all Ludwig von Mises):

“If Capitalism improves the economic position all round, it is of secondary importance that it does not raise all to the same level. A social order is not bad simply because it helps one more than the other.”

“It suffices here to say that the planned economy which the advocates of dictatorship wish to set up is precisely as socialistic as the Socialism propagated by the self-styled Social Democrats.”

“Socialism is the expression of the principle of violence crying from the workers’ soul, just as Imperialism is the principle of violence speaking from the soul of the official and the soldier.”

“The nationalist, too, affirms Socialism, and objects only to its Internationalism. He wishes to combine Socialism with the ideas of Imperialism and the struggle against foreign nations. He is a national, not an international socialist; but he, also, approves of the essential principles of Socialism.”

“Any advocate of socialistic measures is looked upon as the friend of the Good, the Noble, and the Moral, as a disinterested pioneer of necessary reforms, in short, as a man who unselfishly serves his own people and all humanity, and above all as a zealous and courageous seeker after truth. But let anyone measure Socialism by the standards of scientific reasoning, and he at once becomes a champion of the evil principle, a mercenary serving the egotistical interests of a class, a menace to the welfare of the community, an ignoramus outside the pale.”

100 years later, today’s Democrats have done a great job of proving Mises right:

“Marx and Engels never tried to refute their opponents with argument. They insulted, ridiculed, derided, slandered, and traduced them, and in the use of these methods their followers are not less expert. Their polemic is directed never against the argument of the opponent, but always against his person.”

            Oct 01, 2020 01:58 PM

One more thing: Watch the video I provided for you just below and you’ll see that you were definitely grasping at straws just like I said. The problem is indeed NOT a stutter but brain damage.

          Oct 01, 2020 01:57 PM

Matthew, while watching the debacle, it was clear to me that Joe Biden was having more physical and mental problems as the debate neared the end. His mental faculties were weak and with all things connected in the human body he would also be experiencing problems standing for what is an eternity in most senior’s capabilities. How does a man like that handle The Presidency. Vital problems that are normal such as the high cost of living, breakdown of business prosperity, the increase of unemployment, the settlement of innumerable questions of foreign policy, the continued violence in the streets. It just takes my breath away to try to understand the enormities of the problems of being a President who does not have control of his faculties. DT

        Oct 01, 2020 01:25 PM

Approaching the 2 minute mark in the following video, Biden himself shares that his surgeon said his chance of surviving his aneurysm surgery was a lot better than him being normal afterward — despite his chance of survival being only 35-50%. This might explain why he has had no filter for the last 30 years (foot-in-mouth disease).

          Thank you Matthew

          Oct 01, 2020 01:43 PM

Mathew, just yesterday Big Al noted that this election is tearing his family apart. It can’t be easy profiteering off of crypto fascists such as yourself while family members appeal to reason. But he keeps this site running. For you Matthew and your ilk…the self marginalized untethered to reason or fact.

The right has been very good to communism. Since 1980 it has shipped to China every single job worth having in America. Obviously you are conflicted over this buttressing of the collectivist communists you so decry.

In the face of reality you are left only with nostalgia for the anti communism of your youth and choose to rail away at invisible leftists which do not exist.

          You are pitiful.

            Oct 02, 2020 02:50 AM

You’re brain-dead if you’ve concluded that I am a fascist of any kind based on any of my posts here over the last decade. And if you haven’t read my posts, then you’re a scumbag for concluding I’m a fascist without a reason. The rest of your assertions are also completely baseless but then accuracy is never a concern for an unprincipled know-nothing like you because you couldn’t form a coherent argument if your life depended on it.
What I am is disheartened, but not surprised, that your ignorance is the overwhelming norm in the world and not the exception. It must suck to spend your whole life trapped in such a big black cloud of confusion. I wouldn’t take your position for all the money in the world.

      Oct 01, 2020 01:47 PM

Very interesting Matthew………….Great Info………..AK, should post that

      Oct 01, 2020 01:06 PM

Do you have access in such detail to Hillary’s medical records, Matthew?
      Just a rhetorical question, perhaps.

        Oct 01, 2020 01:02 PM

No, I do not. I think you might have missed the first line where I stated that I came across the comment elsewhere. I reposted it because it is credible.

      Oct 01, 2020 01:57 PM

Of course it is far more important Matthew. Where did you graduate from Med School?

        Oct 01, 2020 01:11 PM

Al, as I stated above, the post was something I came across on another site. The comments in it are not mine.

    Oct 01, 2020 01:54 AM

In Budda moments…i wonder how many liberal democratic hillary biden obama loers and trump haters ask themselves…self, am i mentally ill and unable to comprehend reality…or ….as i believe do they simply scream about how F’N carzy liberty conservatives are to them…
