Doc Jones shares his due diligence process for resource companies
I am happy to feature Doc Jones in his first interview for the show! He shares the due diligence process he goes through when first looking into a company. A lot comes down to management but Doc Jones has some keys to look for in resource estimates and economic studies such as a PEA.
I will be having Doc Jones back on the show. Please let me know what you would like to hear us discuss in future episodes. My email address is Fleck@kereport.com.
Agreed. I like Doc Jones methodical mind, and rigorous research analysis when dissecting mining stocks. It’s nice to get his insights here at the KER.
Thanks Cory.. Thanks Doc Jones.. Awesome interview
Love Drjimjones!
Bring the dr back every week. Can’t get enough of his due diligence.
Thanks for this excellent interview Excelsior.
I had the great pleasure of becoming acquainted with Doc Jones and his work in 2020. Following his current research and portfolio as well as digging into his older posts on various boards in ceo.ca has taught me a great deal about evaluating companies and building an investment thesis and has made me a much better investor. He has a great nose for sniffing out compelling investment opportunities as well as those that could destroy a portfolio.
Doc Jones doesn’t suffer fools or trolls easily, but always seems to be willing to give generously of his time to share his knowledge and experience and explain concepts to those who genuinely want to master the art and science of investing. He is the mentor that I’ve always tried to be to others in my own area of expertise; he doesn’t so much tell you what to do but how to think and explains the why in great detail. Using what I’ve learned from him to date, I’ve improved my ability to filter out companies that do not offer a good risk/reward proposition.
I’d highly recommend following his commentary on companies that he invests in as well as general investing tips that he freely gives out. Even if you choose not to invest in any of the same companies he does, you’ll still learn a great deal about what real due diligence looks like. That said, there’s a pretty good chance you will find yourself pulling the trigger on some of them once you’ve crossed checked his work and done your own DD.
Marsy (Australia)
Very well stated Marsy. Doc Jones is a class act, and he truly tries to help other investors learn how to evaluate companies and sort out the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Yes, I’ve also followed his commentary over at ceo.ca, and figured it would be good to post the interview over there as well. Glad to see you posting over here at the KE Report Marsy. Cheers!
Excellent interview and I concur with all of what Marsy has stated. Very well stated indeed. Words don’t do justice for what his mentoring has done for my life as an IT professional.
Some legitimate seller sold a whole bunch of gold contracts right before open to maximize losses….NOT
