And actually it is worse………. because the vote you cast is not for a specific policy or decision, it is a VOTE FOR A CANDIDATE who will make decisions on your behalf,
But you have no influence whatsoever on the decisions that person or party takes!
You can not control them……

I have listened to all the podcasts with Al & Jim , & have come to the conclussion that Jim can not make a logical & unbiased assesment of why Russia invaded , due to his hatred of Russia & Putin. …. The media insists that the Russian offensive “has stalled”. Is that what you call it when your opponent captures an area the size of the UK in less than 3 weeks or when all your air and naval assets have been obliterated or when your Command-and-Control centers have gone up in smoke or when most of your combat troops are either encircled by Russian forces or fleeing to locations west of the Dnieper River? Is that what “stalled” looks like?

Zelensky is fighting for his country against a much bigger enemy – and his people are following – to them he is a hero.
Russia is getting its ass kicked, but doing a lot of damage at the same time – the Rus military has lost more fighters in a month than the US did in Iraq and Afghanistan in 20 years, probably by 3 fold. They haven’t achieved full control of any major objective, have lost a major amount of weaponry, and do not have air supremacy.
In 2003, 60K US troops moved over 400 miles in 1 month thru an army of 400,000 plus Iraqis’, lost a couple of tanks, a couple of helos, and had minor casualties, under 100, and still lost that one.
You are high if you think the Russians are doing well by any measure.
This may drag out for a long time, but there is no winner here.

Arming untrained citizens, telling them to use molotov cocktails, is all just theater. The US and NATO are enablers of this conflict. Stop it!

Zelensky could have jumped on a helo and flown away with cash – Biden invited him. No, he is fighting for his nation, as a true leader will do – whether you or I look at him as a hero is irrelevant – how his people see him matters. He is inspiring them, leading them, and standing against a more powerful abusive nation that would bleed his nation of resources and any dignity.
Some things are worth fighting for – those who live comfortably under protection of others will never understand.
Jim… i agree there are things worth fighting for… i do not agree with using other people for cannon fodder… I would like to fight for a peaceful resolution to the conflict… What are the Ukrainians fighting for? The right to bomb Donbass and ethnic Russians? Have you seen “Donbass 2016”? What are NATO and the US fighting for? The right conduct bioweapons research on Russia’s border? The right for our corrupt leaders and their families to launder money in Ukraine?
