Joel Elconin – US Inflation Data Recap and What To Watch For The Upcoming Earnings Season
Joel Elconin, Co-Host of the Benzinga PreMarket Prep Show and Editor of the PreMarket Prep website joins me to recap the 8.5% inflation number for March. This is the highest inflation number since 1981 but was under the concusses estimates that came in at over 10%. We discuss how Joel is viewing the year over year comparisons now that we have entered the months where inflation started to take off in 2021.
When it comes to the markets, that are bouncing back today, the out-performers are still the defensive sectors, including dividend stocks and utilities. It’s a very different environment where investors are chasing yields higher. We also look ahead to what will matter for the upcoming earnings season.

Lakedweller2 posted this terrific interview with Luke Gromen yesterday. I listened and was spell-bound for a good hour. An exceptional listen with info and history that all serious PM investors ought to be aware of. Please do yourself a favor and listen: https://www.grant-williams.com/podcast/0028-luke-gromen/ Bad news for linear thinkers!
