WE KNOW THE FED RESERVE ALWAYS UNDERESTIMATES INFLATION DELIBERATELY.
They do this by adjusting the purchases. e.g. If steak goes up in price the food basket reduces the amount of steak and increases chicken……..i.e. the Fed quoted price inflation is NOT AT A CONSTANT STANDARD OF LIVING, BUT THE STANDARD IS LOWERED ALMOST EVERY YEAR.
BUT THE GDP is an inflation adjusted number.
You take the GDP AT THE END OF THE YEAR, subtract off inflation and compare the number with the beginning of the year
If you have high price inflation, but you underestimate the amount by 5%, then the GDP inflation-adjusted number will come out 5% high and Growth will appear to be 5% higher than it really is.
Since the Fed decided to underestimate inflation, so as to minimize social security out-flow, it is hardly surprising they claim growth by 3% at a time when the economy is collapsing.
