Moral Values Do Count
Think about the importance of the moral values existing in the two parties.
Government is not a single moral being, but a heterogeneous mixture of individuals; some moral, some far from it; some selfish, some selfless.
Experience has taught mankind that best decisions are reached by a group of people in open discussion, not by a single dictator and certainly not behind closed doors.
The U.S. was blessed by founding fathers who were both moral and intelligent.
Current politicians may be more knowledgeable than our Founding Fathers, but I doubt, on average,if that they are either more moral (I suspect less) or more intelligent.

I believe there are a “best” set of moral values.
I am not sure they always come from any church or religion.
However, the easiest way for society to develop an acceptable set of moral values is via a religion.
