I researched the question of “what happens when a brokerage firm tanks”. When one of the California “almost a bank” crashed earlier in the year (Schwab took a hit) I googled the question. A guy, I don’t remember his name” said he had worked for the government when brokerage firms failed in the past. He said that Brokerage Firms are considered to not mix customer and corporate accounts (uh huh), and because of that they put the corporate debt on the failing brokerage firms and removed the customer accounts, one for one, across the board to a viable brokerage firm, making no loss to Customer accounts. Now since FDIC bailed out the entirety of some of the failing banks recently including unsecured amounts and creditors (I doubt that FDIC had the funds), I would “hope” that The Fed would back the Brokerage Firms to the extent that there is not supposed to be comingling of funds.
The glitch I see is that corruption has pretty well deregulated the Financial Markets and it appears we have to rely on the thieves to make the system work. We are in a defenseless posture if our Regulators have set us for a kill shot by the Banking System. However, this may divert some of the daily news away from pending criminal trials for a select bunch of the problem people and expand the pool of potential indictments.

We need a group of investigative reporters to go to a Starbucks and corner a few AI types and get a consensus on when Fundamentals will be considered again for the miners.
