Terrible Technicals – Some negative signs for the economy

September 23, 2013

This article presents charts on the U.S. margin debt, P/E ratios that are reaching all time highs, and consumer sentiment that are all pointing to a near term bubble bursting or even worse. A Time magazine cover eluding to another crash is included to further the author’s point of a way over inflated market/bubble.

When the Dow hit its new high last week the RSI went over 70, indicating an overbought condition. I think the current down-trend is merely reversion to the norm.
I do not see an overwhelming amount of TA signalling a substantial drop.

Much more scary is the dollar index which is BAD, very bad….

What makes this time really scary is money will not be diverted by The Federal Reserve away from the stock market for the purpose of carrying loans based on securities. This is their last stand, every other avenue has failed. The trap that they engineered is set, and they can’t raise rates to try and stem the money flow into stocks because the debt is too huge to allow this. DT

Fed will taper IF economy turns around, but Fed policy is ruining the economy (systematic/institutionalized stealing always does). Therefore, we are going down. Are we surprised?
