Is this the beginning?
This news just broke 6 minutes ago (Courtesy of Yahoo):
JERUSALEM (Reuters) – The Israeli air force shot down a drone after it crossed into southern Israel on Saturday, the military said, but it remained unclear where the aircraft had come from.
The drone was first spotted above the Mediterranean in the area of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip to the west of Israel, said military spokeswoman Avital Leibovich.
It was kept under surveillance and followed by Israeli air force jets before it was shot down above a forest in an unpopulated area near the border with the occupied West Bank.
Leibovich said it was shot down at about 10 a.m. (0700 GMT), after it travelled east some 35 miles across Israel’s southern Negev desert.
Defence Minister Ehud Barak praised the interception as “sharp and effective”.
“We view with great severity the attempt to compromise Israeli air space and will consider our response in due course,” Barak said in a statement.
Soldiers, assisted by helicopters, were searching the area for the remains of the drone, which security sources said most likely did not originate from the Gaza Strip.
Israel’s Army Radio reported the drone was not carrying any explosives.
Israeli parliament member Miri Regev, a former chief spokesman of the military, wrote on Twitter it was an “Iranian drone launched by Hezbollah”, referring to the Lebanese Shi’ite group that fought a war with Israel in 2006.
Defence officials would not confirm Hezbollah’s connection to the drone.
On at least one occasion, Iranian-backed Hezbollah has launched a drone into Israel. And in 2010, an Israeli warplane shot down an apparently unmanned balloon in the Negev near the country’s Dimona nuclear reactor.
The Israeli military released a 10-second video clip of what it said was Saturday’s mid-air interception. In the video, a small, unidentified aircraft is seen moments before being destroyed by a missile fired from a fighter jet.

Hopefully the Dawgs will be able to shoot down Oregon’s passing gane later this evening…go huskies (with as much enthusiam as I can generate tonight)
Holy smoke, Dai Uy!
52 – 21!
The Ducks really have a great team this year. And that comment coming from a Dawg is quite a statement!

Al:
If it’s any consolation, the Husky cheerleaders were hotter. OSU is very tough as well!
Yeh, they are about all that was hotter.
The Dawgs just don’t seem to be there yet!
I still predict that the Apple Cup will be one heck of a game!

Be good at the game Dai Uy, lest the MPs round you up for your disorderly conduct –> http://presstv.com/usdetail/264988.html
Some people are suspecting the drone is american, maybe its a “false flag” but other people are saying its not the first 1, being in the dessert I cant see it having much meaning, but what is going on at the Turkish boarder might be serious no matter if its the FSA or Asads troops. Turkey is UN, this could be the inroad the americans have been looking for, ultimatly the plan was Iran after Syria. This middle east stuff is madness, we are suposedly trying to kill off al qida, then we support them in lybia and now Syria even after they vow to kill american troops. Its Asad that is protecting the christians and jews there. Maybe the goal is just war and it doesnt matter how it starts. IN any case, these events on the Turk boarder could escalate.
Turkey has returned artillery fire at Syria for a fifth consecutive day, after mortar from Syria landed in the Turkish border town of Akcakale.
The shell landed some 200 meters inside Turkey, AP reported.
According to Reuters, it hit near a plant belonging to the Turkish Grain board, several hundred meters away from the city center.
A short time later, at least six mortars could be heard fired from Turkey.
Abdulhakim Ayhan, the mayor of Akcakale, confirmed that Turkish artillery immediately returned fire.
No casualties have been reported.
It’s the latest move in the already tense relationship between the neighboring countries.
The crisis began on Wednesday, when Syrian mortar shells killed a woman and four children from the same family in Akcakale. The shells also wounded at least 13 people.
The incident triggered artillery strikes by neighboring Turkey. Ankara has deployed additional troops to its southern border with Syria.
“Many critics believe these shells are being fired deliberately. This border area is controlled by rebels and it is possible that theyre firing these rounds to provoke turkey to go to NATO and call for foreign intervention,” RT correspondent in the region Paula Slier said.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s prime minister says that he won’t allow the events to go unprovoked and will declare war if necessary – leading to growing concern that the conflict will result in regional instability.
Here is my bottom line, benb: The folks in the Middle East do not have a clue as to how to work together. And, what is terrifying, these idiots could very well drag the entire world into their ignorant and selfish environment.
Yep, I am pretty angry with people who are not willing to change their environment for the better.
Big Al
Funny thing, our government and isrealis would have us believe the Moslem brotherhood are the “bad guys” because the word moslem is in their name, its now a woman leading them. How they going to explain that away? Also, its the Moslem botherhood and Assad that are protecting freedom of religion. There is a group of arabs, (not sure, kurds?) that want a country from Tunisia to Iran, this country is to includ isreal and parts of turkey as well as Iraq Afganistan,Lybia,Egypt and parts of SaudiArabia. These are the guys we have been supporting, they include many groups of arabs including al qida, they intend to destroy Isreal along the way.
Maybe that is part of the western plan, the west gets rid of Isreal and blames these arabs Only logical thing I can think of. Whatever it is, it is all being used to oppress the western people, reduce their liberty and enslave them even further than they are. Check the riots in Spain now and the police reaction or Bahran (harder to find info) Peter Schiff took apart the debate, Romney/Obama want the same stuff except Romny wants his name on it. I cant believe anyone would vote for either of these guys over Liberty. But Obama will win and Spain will come to the states, just a matter of time. I hope as many people get prepared as can be. And when it does get here, those that voted Romney/Obama will say “darn, I coulda had a v-8” lol) or maybe “now I understand”
The muslims are the bad guys. They kill, rape, destroy, burn, loathe, etc.. anything not muslim.

In the war against the savage, you support civilized man. In this case, you support Israel, India and Thailand and the non muslim Philippinos.
Wow,back to the home of the James whoppers.
I have lived in Israel,Thailand(parts of eight years) and now live in Hindi Indonesia(religion from Mother India).
I have found savages and saints in all these places.
I have also travelled into many Muslim nations and the same holds true.
If you cut them,do you not think they bleed?
They love their children and have the same dreams and hopes for their children as we have for ours.
Not sure I would agree with this one.
If you look at the history of the area, you will realize just how much of “no-win” situation it represents.
Many of the Muslims are angry about just how Israel came to be and many of the Israelis are simply protecting themselves in a very bad environment.
Big Al
There is a train of thought that the original missile fired by Syria was a mistake.
Too many crazies over there for the situation to make any sense to me.
We have a tinder box wait to explode, don’t we!
Big
Allegedly, the shells that landed in Turkey were NATO types – not in the stock of Syria’s government, but in that of the “rebels.”
That was brought out to me yesterday, instagram.
Thank you for your input!

One group is willing to work together but they only inhabit .16% of the middle east or what I call the devil zone. It was once much more, but they foolishly gave land away for paper ( sounds like selling silver bullion and buying shares in Facebook!).
Hi James, I would choose an advanced hospital over a 3rd world hospital too.
Maybe the Isralis will actually start provide a little water and medical supplies in the gaza now, or maybe just let humanitarian ships in.
Dont be fooled that the cartoon is the reason for their uprising, drones killing inocent people might have somthing to do with it too. The arabs have had enough,
they are making their move. We should get out of the way, our armies really are not that good against guys that wear sandels. The only “threat” the west has left is mutual assured destruction, the tables have turned, for anyone that doubts that check how long the russians kept nuclear subs in the gulf of mexico before we detected them or the anti aircraft/missle capabilities of Russia/China.
We have been building our military for the wrong war, exactly as Ron Paul said.
The Russians/Chineese have been building for the next war. We have got to get out of the middle east if we intend to stay intact. But war is good for the economy right? we need the jobs.
Morning Benb,
Yeh, war is good for the economy.
I agree COMPLETELY that we need to get out of the Middle East. The world made a huge mistake back in 1949 and that elephant in the room is going to break a lot of furniture before it’s all over.
Big Al
Why should the Israelis provide drugs and water?? If the gazonians spent 10% of teh time they spent attacking Israel or planning to attack Israel, they would have a normal society.
The arabs have had enough of their miserable leaders. At the same time, they would risk their right arm for a VISA to America or Australia or Canada…MAD does not work so I have no clue what you aretalking about.
the term “3rd world” does not necessarily mean poor. It means a country not directly aligned with the US, but very open to it such as Japan, in the event of a war.
War i NOT good for an economy. To terminally clothe, feed and care for injured men and women is very coslty.
Why should the USA get out of the middle east? It is a major source of oil and the American presence ensures that the arabs do not kill themselves and destroy their oil .
But all foreign aid from t he USA MUST stop and it will stop. USA is beyond broke. No more checks.
James, read some world history and get back to us in a few months time.
Matt, you are most likely a unilingual American. I have read world history in several languages.
I stand by my comments and where will U go when the US dollar implodes? Will they want to speak English? I doubt it.
You would be most likely wrong.
Trilingual and not American.
Lots of the world to see and enjoy.
Nice people, good food, great to open up the mind and learn to enjoy other cultures and religions and, dare I say. learn to appreciate others.
Thanks Matt,
Very appropriate comment!
Big Al
Not sure that it will be quite that violent, but time will tell!
Big Al
I pretty much agree with much of your comment, James B
Big Al
James of course alot of arabs would want to move west, wouldnt you? But there are also arabs the want arabia for arabs. They are tired of being tortured for the west.
The Isrealis are blockadeing parts of palistine, guess I am saying they should stop instead of killing the arabs. Cuba at one time had incredible medical and research, not saying all Isrealis are zionists and murderes, but there is enough they are going to get their armigedon. The west needs to get out of the mid east first because they cause alot of the problems and second because we will loose militarily. Surly you dont think that arabs wouldnt sell their oil. The west is getting crushed in afgan now and never held bagdad, the west just cant compete with sandels. I was being sarcastic when I said war is good for the economy, but if you ask the military industial complex they would tell you it is.
I hope people agree with you when you say the u.s.a. must stop forgn aid and vote liberty or write in ron paul.
What is a zionist asshole?? You live in the US or Canada or if it is in the UK, your bloodline invaded the new world, raped and killed the natives and dragged Africans here to rape. Who is the murderer? Look up your great great…. grandfathers.
Ron Paul is right to stop all foreign aid because the US has their own problems: 100,000,000 on welfare and food stamps.
If I was the PM of Israel, there would be no more arab muslims to kill. 🙂
Those were christians your talking about james, I am not christian, or moalem or anything religous, I would say that your thinking is perpetuating it tho.
Isreal may very well try what you desire, it will be to their own demise, they have murdered for too long and plan yet another invasion of Jordan. Lots of defensless arab refugees there to kill. I, not being religous think invasion and genocide is not a good way to keep friendly nieghbours, but I will agree with you that Ron Pauls point about Liberty is a good thing. Maybe research what it actually means.
You are definitely not having a good day are you James B!
Big Al
Morning Benb,
What a quandary, to vote for Ron Paul or Mitt Romney!
Big Al
Its very simple Al, liberty or enslavment. Its seeing the differance that people find hard. It is the propaganda that makes seeing things hard, today we call it marketing.
Ask anyone in marketing if it works.
There’s several parallels to this incident and the start of WWI…intentional attacks meant to incite a response, plus two sides each made up of a loose group of allies who each feel the time is ripe to thumb one another, and finally…Turkey is getting involved in a war again. I’m only half joking about that last one.
Israel may “go” if it’s a Romney win, or delay a little while longer if Obama gets in again. But even Obama has been sabre rattling a harder line on Iran, the last time being just last week. I don’t want another war, so make no mistake when I say this, but I think one’s coming. I pray that will change.
You are absolutely correct, my friend!
Big Al
I lived in the Negev for six months or more.
The Israeli air force and nuclear facilities are both in the Negev.
This area is extremely strategic.
Five major wars against Egypt have been led and fought out of the south of Israel.
Now we have the newly created ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ in Egypt,Syria in flames and Jordan as the next target.
Attempts to recon intelligence is par for the game.
I didnt know that Matt. Explains pretty much everything where the drone is concerned. Turkey retaliates for the 6th consecutive day. There is no way Assad would be trying to get Turkey into his mess, it has got to be the “rebels” lobing shells into Turkey. I wondered when that old turkish fighter got shot down if that wasnt a “false flag”, these morter shells might be the method used to get the U.N. into Syria.
Your comment re: Assad is exactly what I heard yesterday.
Big Al
You make some valid points,BenB.
The UN US/British/Rothschild killing machine has acquired and eliminated for 150 years now so the third world war that was well planned long ago is under way in earnest.
Of course, the eastern world has had enough of the theft machine of the west.
The Ottoman Turks owned all of the Med and a good chunk of Easter Europe so they would harbour imperialistic memories.
The same goes for Syria. The Syrian Empire included all of Lebanon, and a good chunk of Jerusalem -all the way to what is now Eilat.
Syria and the Turks have been guarded neighbours,at best.
With the Iranians ,Saudi’s ,Yanks,Russians,Egyptians,Israeli’s,Hezbollah and all the available combatants in the world gathering it could be any one of the above mentioned parties that are lobbing shells into Turkey.
They are all there and they don’t like each other.
Really happy to read your postings Matt, I havnt traveled anywhere near as much as yourself, And I am stuck to 1 language, used to be fluent mexico/spanish but without opportunity to use it, oh well.
I just wanted to say Its very nice to know there is sombody out there that sees things as they are.
I mentioned when we invaded afganistan that we would lose, people nearly tore my head off as unpatriotic. Dangerous to be right when your gov is wrong. And warning people just seems to have no effect. Again, I am not religous at all, but I pray for those poor people in the mid east and Iran. But I think Isreal would be about the last place I would want to be right now. In any case, very nice to see I am not alone.
Hi Ben,
Ditto.
Travel is a great gift that has given me a sense and wonder of history and how it ties into the present world.
Politics of the immediate past and present is chronicled by the American historian, journalist and researcher F.W. Engdahl:
http://www.williamengdahl.com
I just read his September 19th piece on the British/CIA management and creation of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ entitled ‘Dagestan:Syria Comes to Russia.’
Good read on some of the present situation and how it was created and nurtured and their role in creating the present mideast conflicts.
RT reports today the morter shell was not only UN made but givin to the “rebels” from Ankara.
I read a couple articles @ Engdahl, it says I am wrong about Moslem brotherhood and it created by the west to cause war.
Thing is I am certain I have been reading they are peacful and are now lead by a woman. Couldnt happen under sharia law. They were or are influential in Egypt, and we havnt seen Egypt implicated in anything yet other than peacful action.
Except letting it be known they are not happy with Isreal.
Still, in the buildup to the elections, Brotherhood speakers have been known to speak fiercely against Israel. In one gathering, in the beginning of May at El-Mahalla El-Kubra, Brotherhood leaders promised, in the presence of [presidential candidate Mohamed] Morsi, that the object of the Brotherhood is to liberate Jerusalem. The main speaker at that gathering, Sifwat Hijazi, said that Morsi would liberate Jerusalem and that the Brotherhood’s dream was the creation of the “united Arab nations,” with Jerusalem as its capital. “Our capital won’t be Mecca or Medina, but Jerusalem, millions of shahids [martyrs] will march on the city” shouted Hijazi, “the whole world should know – and we say it clearly – our goal is Jerusalem, we shall pray in Jerusalem, and if not – we shall die as martyrs on its ruins.“ Another speaker that day said that ”tomorrow Morsi will liberate Gaza.” A singer sang: “The Jews will not be able to sleep, come, lovers of martyrs, you’re all Hamas. Take on arms, and prepare for prayer.”
Despite the controversial Muslim Brotherhood statements, the Obama administration has been holding meetings with various Brotherhood leaders including an April meeting at the White House and a January visit to Muslim Brotherhood headquarters in Cairo by U.S. ambassador to Egypt Ann Peterson to discuss relations between the two countries.

Many thanks, Matt, for this information.
I try very hard to keep up on this situation and something always seems to slip through the cracks.
It is a very, very serious situation over there.
I personally feel that a major confrontation is brewing.
This may sound terrible, but the Middle East cauldron is on of the reasons that I am bullish on gold and silver. Call me a terrible person, but I think that I am simply being a realist.
I hope and pray that the situation in the Middle East is resolved by peaceful means, but I don’t think that is in the cards.
Best,
Big Al
According to last Thursday’s edition of Al Wafd, during his weekly sermon, “Muhammad Badi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Supreme Guide, confirmed the necessity for every Muslim to strive to save al-Quds [Jerusalem] from the hands of the rapists [Israelis] and to cleanse Palestine from the clutches of the occupation, deeming this an individual duty for all Muslims.”
More specifically, he “called on all Muslims to wage jihad with their money and their selves to free al-Quds”—the same exact language one finds in al-Qaeda’s tracts.

Plenty of information linking Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Take it from the source-CFR:
Hamas grew out of the Muslim Brotherhood, a religious and political organization founded in Egypt with branches throughout the Arab world.
http://www.cfr.org/israel/hamas/p8968
This sounds like a convenient authorized narrative.
