Just now catching up on so many investment analysis emails here on Sunday and came across this Substack piece from QTR, who is always insightful and he was covering the fallout in the crypto space just from one bad day on Friday. I guess some of these guys are so levered up on all these cross trades, etc… that a 3% dip in their markets created multifold losses and people were out in droves on Friday and over the weekend on social media belly-aching about it.

Thats for sure DT, China is WAAAAY ahead of the states in tech, robotics being one.
Take a look at their military robotics, if the U.S. is stupid enough to attack China they are toast.
Only thing the U.S. has now is nukes. Course they could have some of that secret alien tech. 😉

Crazy day so far. IBKR is mixing Friday Cad results with USD changes today in personal accounts Also looks like hedge funds jumping in with the the big gold/silver futures prices. Caution warranted as this may be an US playday and do and “up and down” tomorrow to allow Cad to catch up with today. Anyway it is entertaining to say the least. All kinds of abnormal things going on. More fun than price suppression everyday.

Been doing a search for potential undervalued gold plays and have come across First Mining. Ex have you heard of them. Keith Neumeyer started it back in 2015. Based on you recent discussion with Cory about how gold in the ground is being valued this looks like it’s around $20 but I’m not the best at calculating these things.

      Oct 13, 2025 13:14 AM

The chart has been strong all year and they just raised $24M. In a bull market, what more do you need?

lol. Thanks for that Matthew. Guess I’m just hesitant to go down the proverbial food chain too early and do appreciate others opinions. Cheers.

I was in a stock about 15 years ago that owned The Springpole Gold Project, I believe it was called Gold Canyon. Springpole was a good prospect at the time, they had drilled up around 5 million ounces. Springpole had a lot of promise and FF bought it out for a cheap price, but they wanted to own a lot of gold properties and they went on a buying spree.

After that First Mining struck me as more of a lifestyle company. Their share count is now around 1.3 billion. I felt Springpole had a lot of promise but it wasn’t developed. First Mining has some great properties I think they might be looking for an acquirer. DT

NEM is up 56% since the big drop that I thought should be bought:

    Matthew Jul 15, 2025
Looks like a buying opportunity unless it’s a sign of internal trouble. I’m guessing there’s no problem. Everything is under pressure today which certainly added to NEM’s selling.
It filled its 6/13 gap and backtested the 6/12 breakout but found too much buying to quite reach its 50 day MA (so far).

Barrick has gone up as much as 73% since I posted this:

      Matthew Jul 15, 2025
Barrick has been in a bullish consolidation for a month.

DRD is up 100% since this:

      Matthew Aug 04, 2025
Nice looking opportunity in DRD at the moment:
      https://schrts.co/WaIqWwSb

        Oct 13, 2025 13:21 AM

Thanks. DRD has gone from 4 to 30 in 3 years. What leverage to gold! Glad I hung on and did not sell for a loss. This was Jim Blanchard’s favorite gold stock for leverage. Don Durrett thinks NEM is going to 300 at 5K gold. Rick Rule thinks NEM and Barrick could merge and fire a lot of top managers and save a lot of expenses.

          Oct 13, 2025 13:08 AM

Yes, longer term, I agree that NEM is going far higher than $100. With a PE of 15 at the moment, NEM is still cheap. At the end of 2011 its PE was 81. Much higher PEs are warranted in mining because of the assets in the ground adding value to the “P”.

    Oct 13, 2025 13:44 AM

TSX-V is up big since this and look at the bullish rise in volume to go with it:

    Matthew Apr 26, 2025
The TSX-V is breaking out of a 3 year base with its best weekly close in almost 3 years.
