Al…on November 18 you had an interview with Rod Husband of Majestic Gold. At the time you indicated you did own shares and would provide 3 days notice if you decided to sell. I can’t find any information on the site that indicates you did disperse of your holdings. Should Majestic be on your holdings list from July 8th?

      Jul 19, 2011 19:22 PM

      Hi Rob,

I will check this one out. I sold all my Majestic shares a long time ago. I will get the exact dates and clarify this for one and all.

      Give me until the morning,

      Big Al

        HI Rob,

        One further thing.

I do not have to disclose buys or sells three days prior as I now do.

The reason I do it now is because I realize that listeners follow what I am doing. They assume, rightly so, that I only invest in companies that I think are good situations for myself and my wife. I did not realize that listeners were following what I was doing closely. When I did become aware of that, I felt that I was obligated to let everyone know exactly what I was doing. This is now my policy even though I am not legally obligated to do that because I stress that I am not an investment adviser and I am only discussing what I am doing.

My policy is that I now disclose three days prior to any sale or purchase. Why do I do that? Simple, it is morally correct. I wish everyone in our business did that.

Anyway, I will get the dates to you tomorrow.

        Thanks for bringing this up.

        Big Al

Thanks Al. You did indicate on November 18 that you did own shares and also said that three days notice would be given in the interview with Rod. Can you let me know when that three days notice was provided.

          Hi Rob,

I, in fact, placed a sell order for my remaining stock in Majestic on November 15th. This stock had been awarded to my company about two years earlier as a settlement of debt.

I did a bit more research. I sold my stock at the absolute low price for the period beginning about one month earlier (October).

Since my sale, the stock has traded consistently higher. Today it is trading at a price that is 25% higher than where I sold it.

As it turns out, the interview was valuable for anyone who purchased the stock at that time.

I did the interview so people would be aware of the positive direction of the company. I guess that the looser here (in terms of share price appreciation) is Big Al.

          Hope that answers your concerns,

          Big Al

Oh okay. Sounds good. I thought you owned the stock because you were a director of the company.

            Jul 21, 2011 21:22 PM

Nice to know I’m not the only one who sells at the “absolute low”. Misery loves company. Feeling betting now Al?

YOU NOW HAVE MORE PEOPLE WORKING FOR GOVERNMENT(PUBLIC) THAN PRIVATE. THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HAVE LAVIOUS GUARANTEED PENSION PLANS. THEREFORE YOU HAVE MORE PEOPLE WITH VOTING POWER TO KEEP THIS GOING. THEY EVEN HAVE SOME SUPPORT FROM THE LOST MISINFORMED PRIVATE FAMILIES TO BOOT. THEREFORE YOU HAVE A BATTLE BETWEEN THE PUBLIC EMPLOYESS AND THE INFORMED PRIVATE.
THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES WILL NEVER EVER GIVE UP THERE PENSION PLANS THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE AVERAGE CITIZEN WHO ARE PAYING FOR THEIR LIFE STYLE. THIS IS THE PROBLEM IN EUROPE AS WELL. ENTITLEMENTS AND NANNY STATE IS THE PROBLEM. THE VOTERS ARE THE PROBLEM. I AM CANADIAN AND I DO NOT KNOW HOW BAD THE ENTITLEMENT PROBLEM IS HERE. BUT IT CANNOT BE TO FAR AWAY. I HOPE I AM WRONG. I COME TO REALIZE THAT THIS IS ALSO THE BIG PROBLEM THE CITIZENS DO NOT EVEN KNOW HOW GOOD PUBLIC EMPLOYEES HAVE IT. IF THE AVERAGE CITIZEN TRUE KNEW THERE WOULD BE A REVOLT MAYBE ANOTHER CIVIL WAR IS WHAT IS NEEDED. SAD THAT THESE THOUGHTS EVEN COME TO MIND. FINAL THOUGHT WHAT MAKES PUBLIC EMPLOYEES SO SPECIAL AS TO GET ALL THESE BENEFITS WITH GARANTEED EMPLOYMENT TO BOOTH. THE ROLE OF GOVERNEMNT FIRST AND FOREMOST IS TO TAKE CARE OF THE SICK AND NEEDY, THE ELDERLY, WIDOWS AND ORPHANS. ONLY WHEN THESE PEOPLE ARE TAKEN CARE OF THEN YOU CAN SPEND ON OTHER ISSUES. LET ME QUOTE WHAT CHRIST SAID: IF A MAN WOULD NOT WORK HE SHOULD NOT EAT. HE ALWAYS SAID IT BEST. GOD BLESS.

      Hi Guiseppe,

Yes, Jesus always said it best and He still says it best.

I wish I knew more about the statistics regarding government employees and the group that take some kind of entitlement who are not entitled to it. Can you help me out here?

      Many thanks for your comment,

      Big Al

These “debt negotiations” are theatre folks. The economy will crash sooner or later. It’s called “kick the can down the road”. Since Obama now owns this economy would it not make sense to crash the economy on his watch? Sure it would be painful but another four years of Obama will be terminal. Choose your poison.

      Jul 21, 2011 21:06 AM

      Hi Tommy John,

I still maintain that the problem is not the current president’s fault. This stuff has been going on for a long time.

My problem with the president is that he is continuing the irresponsible spending that started a long time ago.

The current situation, in my mind is that it is more that just his fault.

It’s still a free country so I guess I can say whatever I want.

Realize that I am not totallly disagreeing with your comment,

      Big Al

Did you know that according to the Federal Reserve, $600 billion of QE2 (by far the biggest chunk) went to Nexia Bank of Belgium?
Guarantees QE3 will be necessary to increase the reserves of US banks, which was where QE2 was supposed to go.
Obama may own the US economy, but I predict the crash is deigned to happen about April of 2013, when the Republicans, then in power, will be blamed.

    Jul 19, 2011 19:38 PM

Oops! Typo above: Dexia bank not Nexia

      Hi David,

Please provide me with a source for your comment.

      Thanks,

The Wall Street banks made bad bets. Rather paying for them, they have gotten our politicians to pay for their bad bets with taxpayer money. This means that grandma who paid into social security all of her life is going to have to do without because the politicians are making sure that the banksters have all of the money that they want.

      Jul 21, 2011 21:09 AM

      Hi Ron,

Yep, the bad guys are rewarded for their mistakes. Makes no sense to me!

If only they wanted a straight up socialist system I’d understand some going along. Heck, communism can sound good on paper if you haven’t actually seen the “real life” results. All I see now is the middle class being milked dry with the understanding they are helping the banks / elites to, ultimately, save the little guy on the bottom. I’m not seeing the poor helped out anytime soon. We’ll all be eyeing the $50 sandwiches walking past in the employed paper bag lunches with envie pretty soon. Isn’t THAT the real game changer. As more and more lose hope the masses will end up following anyone who appears different or more honest. Maybe, the change will be the person suggesting capitalism. I fear monopolies are in place and we may not be able to kick start true grass root capitalism this time around.

I do not think Canada is a country run by a bunch of “Lefties” as in Rick Ackerman’s words. The current Canadian Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, is a member of Canadian Conservative Party and they have the majority of seats in Canadian Parliament. You can find the Prime Minister’s website here http://www.conservative.ca/

I believe that it is conservative financial and credit policies that have helped Canada weather the global financial crisis better than most countries. Canada has stricter regulation of its financial industry compared to the U.S. This is the result of Conservative policies not Leftist ones.

      Jul 23, 2011 23:55 PM

Actually, the Liberal party was in power in Canada and was responsible for all the banking regs. They’re also the ones who eliminated Mulroney’s Conservative deficit over over $40B/yr and turned it into a $30B/yr surplus.

Now we have the Conservatives in power again, and a deficit of somewhere north of $50B again.

Educate yourself, you might learn something.

    Jul 19, 2011 19:29 PM

We must ask of our future selves how this will all come. Imagine having a mental time machine, clairvoyance, with the ability to know now what we will know 5 months, a year or five from now. What would our future selves tell us?

Well one thing I feel certain of and that is that many will chastise themselves for knowing full well that it would happen just as they feared. Even when one knows what is going to happen the difficulty arises in acting on it before it happens. Change is difficult and I fear the change that is happening in this country which is a roadblock on acting on it.

There are many real smart people in America, but it never stops amazing me how they can be so dumb. I put myself in both camps, sometimes dumb first later to be smart, and sometimes smart first only to find out how dumb I was.

The manipulation of news, markets, money, stocks and just about everything is now front and center everyday, the manipulators don’t even try to hide it anymore. They fear they have no other choice, but the fact is it is these efforts that got this country into the mess in the first place. And now it is ratcheting up from “In for a Penny In for a Pound”, to “In for a ton in for infinity”.

    Jul 20, 2011 20:28 AM

As one of Ackerman’s Canadian “lefties”, I take great comfort in knowing that we went through some very stringent cutbacks in the late 80’s through the early 90’s to gain control over our growing debt levels…and this mentality is still ingrained in our population and our politicians…we are talking cutbacks coming again to handle the recent debt splurge we had to endure up here to bail ourselves out from the worldwide banking fiasco that we got dragged into because of our “superior American neighbours” peddling their “triple A crap” all over the world among other things such as your imperialist foreign policy…so “Ricky Baby”…before you start denigrating our way of life which appears to be far saner and much less homicidal and war mongering, than your society…perhaps you should step back and think it out before you wisecrack about us. I know that you were trying to say that America could “take a page from our book” and be pro-active in deficit reduction…but I do take exception to your “back-handed compliment” as if we are somehow inferior to you “Great American” free capitalists who have managed to not only screw your own country up to the point of no return…but have played a direct hand in causing a lot of misery in many other countries around the world with your economic policies and military adventures.

You’re not what you used to be boys…so don’t go dumping your crap remarks on the air about neighbours who have stood by you through thick and thin over the years…Canada has its share of problems to cope with as well and we are not superior to anyone else…some of yoin your countryu Yanks would do well to learn a little “humility” after what you have allowed to go on over the last 20 – 30 years .

      Jul 23, 2011 23:57 PM

Damn right! The Yanks certainly could learn a little humility! Or maybe they need the Chinese to teach it to them?

    Jul 20, 2011 20:07 AM

HELLO GIUSEPPE. I agree with you 100% . We have the same problem here in the U.K. . It’s the same in the U,S. and i expect it’s the same in the rest of europe.

    Jul 20, 2011 20:24 AM

Hi NICK & BRUCE. My advice to the CANADIAN GOVERNMENT & ITS PEOPLE WOULD BE. Build a huge wall along the CAN.U.S. border to keep out the AMERICAN ELITE & ROTTEN BANKERS, before they destroy your country too, But keep your door open for the good & honest AMERICANS who want to come in. Dont let the buggers get to you. Good health to you & your’s.

    Jul 20, 2011 20:21 AM

Thanks IRISHTONY…you are too late with the advice my friend…the rotten bankers are already here and trying to make serious inroads…wait for the next round of the North American Union to kick in…watch the Canadians go “ape” when they try and move that agenda forward…I hope the Irish stand up eventually (or really “get their IRISH up!) and tell their politicians to go to hell and reneg on those agreements that have buried them (just as Iceland did)…things are going to get really bad for everyone…it’s just a matter of time…Godspeed to you and yours…

We in the US cannot hope for a turnaround in the Europeanization of this country because their is a natural inclination to following the patterns of other countries and governments. Our offficals do not see us as citizens of the United States but citizens of the world. We have been forsaken to an ideology of a higher order without any true resistance from the people. Our citizens will get what they want.

      Jul 23, 2011 23:59 PM

Your citizens have been getting what you want. That’s why your country is in the shape it is. I agree, it’s about time you stood up and fought for what’s right… but is “what’s right” really what anybody wants down there?

    Jul 22, 2011 22:36 AM

People usually get the kind of government they deserve. Currently the international bankers are in control of things including Obama (he’s their puppet to further their agenda)and they are calling the shots and moving us, unfortunately, toward world government. Kiss American sovereignty goodbye! Americans are taking it on the chin from Uncle Sam as our Federal government follows globalist policies that are detrimental to our Constitutional liberties. We now have a police state and I suspect by the time most Americans feel the knock out punch with hyperinflation and the destruction of the U.S. Dollar next year or in 2013 it will be too late to turn back the economy or political machinery to improvement levels. The economics and politics of Satan
are too well entrenched to not bring about a world wide collapse in both Europe and America. Imagine what took place in Nazi Germany with the rise of Hitler and multiply this on a global scale and you have the scene of Biblical Armageddon and the rise of a world dictator. Have some gold and silver and food and water but don’t put your trust in these things. Do seek the Lord and put your trust in Him for riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death. (Proverbs 11:4)
A good conscience will make death easy, and take off the terror of it; it is the privilege of the righteous only not to be hurt of the second death, and so not much hurt by the first.

Al, would love your feedback from Monday July 18ths Daily Insights on my comments about about the goodness of man. Thanks!
