TR – today while the EU suits were jawboning all you needed to do was watch

EUR/USD next to XAU/USD next to XAG/USD near 100% correlation between the metals and USD strenght in terms of the Euro today. Short term and medium term USD strength makes me feels like my wife at a dress rack on CLEARANCE. It just makes you feel like the $ spends better.

    Hi Trader Rog,
I am having fun now with corn futures. Thanks More fun in the fall? Can hardly wait. For me there are only four or five really big trades every year. And if I get two or three right, I’m happy. Thanks for your help.

Picked up 1000 IQI AGAIN TODAY. CLosed end bond fund. these shrt term bond fund trades can work. I tend to use the ones with monthly dividends , so if i only own it for 2 weeks i can still get one dividend. use limit orders , and try for a 2 or3 % up move. there are several hundered of these bond funds on the NYSE and AMEX [arca] exchange. good luck. yes Rog. i also like the canada dollar.

160k new jobs for july. the number is decent enough to keep bernanke from acting in september. gold was handed three strikes this week, the fed on wed, the ecb on thr and now this. looks like more of the same as we meander through stagflation. range bound for a long time to come

Just drove through Great Falls, Helena, Couer D’Alene and Spokane.

Spokane is in real trouble. It seemed like 20% of the businesses were closed and outof business. There was so much garbage and the people seemed so unhealthy.

Certainly nothing like Vancouver where I live. It is obvious that to this Canadian that America needs higher taxes, like Canada, universal health care like Canada. Higher cigarette and alcohol taxes like Canada. Gun control, like Canada. Needs to stop fighting numerous wars like Canada. This one girl in Great Falls had never heard of Helena, thie Capitol of the state she lives in and just 85 miles down the road. This one guy in Spokane did not know which province borders Washington State, nor did he know Olympia was his state Capitol. It appears the American system does not work as too many people get left behind and fall through the cracks.

America where you can get a 40oz Miller high life beer for $1.75 but can’t get an education….America XXXXXXX Yeah!

      MIke,

Yes, we have our warts. No question about that.

I will say that my kids got great educations, but Kathy and I chose to pay for them.

I don’t understand the context of your last three words by the way. And, I edited out the middle word as it is not appropriate and I’ll bet that you know that.

      Big Al

    Howdy Mike!

I have to admit, I do share SOME of your opinions regarding the U.S.S.A. but, to be completely honest, we COULD have a wonderful healthcare system if the FREE markets were allowed to work and have a stop put to all lobbyists, special interest groups controlling government officials, and corrupt politicians. Your Canadian healthcare system is exactly something to brag about.

But you hit the nail on the head when it comes to the idiocy of our American public. What amazes me the most, is that the average American thinks that once they get a job, they don’t have to learn anything any more. Their mind seems to go stagnant and they focus only on local gossip, reality television, violent packed action movies, TWITTER and FACEBOOK.

The visible poverty level is ASTOUNDING in this country! When I lived in Brazil, poverty was everywhere, but the people took care of themselves for the most part. Not here. I’m seeing more and more as the months go by. When living in Brazil, I was amazed at how much knowledge of the outside world was evident even among the lower class of people. Not here in America. Yes, we do have some regions of the country that seem alert and we do have some schools that know how to teach, but overall, Mike, you are correct about our educational system.

      Sorry, Mike

meant to say “Your Canadian healthcare system is NOT something to brag about.” Poor education on my part 😉
