We are past the point of no return.
Please see my comments in yesterday’s pundit’s perspectives.
I put it down to US schools and watching TV. People no longer inquire and debate but sit it front of the boob-tube like zombies.

      CFS:

For the record, it is not just the people who sit in front of the boob-tube who look and act like zombies – I would say that 99% of people who listen to “patriot” radio channels are equally zombie-like. In short, they desperately NEED others to do all of their thinking for them. Ironically, these people think that they are in the know because they heard an episode or two of talk radio.

How do you know what is being said on patriot radio,,,unless you also, listen?

btw…..I do not listen to anything ,,,for any length of time……….but, gleen the airwaves to catch the wave…………,for lack of knowledge my people parish……
          broad is the path…..the devil’s path,,,,,know they enemy……….

And,my friend some are on it!

There is a US Law which states American Aid may NOT be given to any country in which a democratically elected leader is replaced in a coup.

Does this mean all aid to Egypt must now cease?
Somehow I can’t see Obama doing that.

            cfs,,,,,,that is one heck of a thought…..great thinking………bravo……..

          Jul 06, 2013 06:31 PM

          JERRY:

Because I “USED TO” listen to the bogus patriot channels and finally clued in to the fact that many things do not add up (ie. Lindsey Williams pathetic story). In short, this cowboy has learned to think for himself and I do not buy into the entire “Take Back America” nonsense.

NOTE: The aforesaid call for an “awakening” is curious language considering the NEW AGE MOVEMENT is calling for the exact same thing (OCCULT LANGUAGE).

            Jul 07, 2013 07:08 AM

Regarding some of the talk . On the “patriot” channels I do agree with you.

Bent it is all about selling advertising and oftentimes “the truth be damn”Very sad but very true. Take it from a guy who knows and is super careful to avoid it.

Well. Isn’t that nice? The US State Department is now claiming what happened in Egypt was NOT a coup!

Of course, since the Big Zero has an arrogant disregard for the Constitution, why should he care about the mere US Law?
Of course it was not a Coup in Egypt. Of course it is still reasonable to give Egypt Tanks and fighter jets.

Of course, if the US military replaced Obama, that might not be a coup either!
I wonder if he would feel that true.

To an extent I believe you are correct but certainly not 100%. I am pretty sure that the people of our forum are well informed and clear thinking. And,I am equally convinced that there are many more out there.

I kind of agree with Romney’s 47 percent however and therein lies the problem.

Further comments on Immigration Bill/ Affordable Healthcare Act:
Numerous sections of the immigration bill empower the Secretary of Homeland Security to dispense money to “community” organizations ” Here is an example:
The immigration bill funnels $150 million to nonprofit organizations to provide legal assistance, screen for eligibility, assemble proof of residence and employment, and complete applications for family members and waivers.
These functions belong in the Office of Immigration. Why do you think it is outsourced?
Because community activists can say and do things government employees can’t.
      ( Bill Sec. 2106 and 2537)
(This reminds me of under=cover work on the Obamaphones – Even when told they were going to be sold for drugs, Acorn still handed out phones)
The bill sets up a nonprofit United States Citizenship Foundation representing 10 national community organizations. They will develop “citizenship preparation” materials to teach newcomers about American history and civics. This job is done now by the federal Office of Immigration.
Outsourcing will allow it to be done with a democrat partisan slant and without public scrutiny. (Sec. 2531)
Just as the Obama health law elevates community activists to the “go-to” source for health benefits and other social services, the immigration bill makes them the dispensers of amnesty.
Empowering and funding these groups will tilt the scales against a two-party system and make it hard for Republicans to compete fairly in another national election.
Simply one step closer to one-party, banana republic government.
I am not a Republican, but I believe these changes will slowly erode America.
The greatest blessing, I believe, that we currently have is that not all the branches of government are controlled by just one party.

        Jul 06, 2013 06:02 PM

So are you disagreeing with Paul Krugman’ s currently posted editorial CFS?

            Jul 07, 2013 07:33 AM

Let me tell you why I think it is relevant.

He stressed the “inequality” he feels exists in our country. He stressed how the children of the “privileged have it made and he stressed how the Republicans don’t care and attempt to step on the minorities.

Not much time or space was devoted to the concept of pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.

CFS nobody helps people more than we try to and nobody believes more in teaching people how to fish than we do.

Maybe his editorial just made me angry, I don’t know.

If Krugman says the Immigration Bill is good, then while I would hate to disagree with an MIT man, I would suggest he probably has only read a synopsis of the bill.
It is , unless you are a Democrat, a bad bill, in many ways.

I’m with CFS. No offense to all the good people who spoke over the weekend, and there is some wonderful discussion, but there is a sense that everybody is a little behind the 8 Ball and in varying degrees of denial. There is only one way that things are going to go now.

Happy Independence day weekend all! Al, you spoke yesterday of your diversified portfolio and how you are happy with it. What exactly is your “good horse”. We all know that the PMS are way down, miners even worse, zillow tells me you are underwater in 2 of your real estate holdings. How are you compensating for these losses?

thanks bobby…..I was wonder the same on the real estate

      Jul 06, 2013 06:09 AM

Actually slightly up in one because we bought it right. Down maybe $15k in another. Unfortunately way up in a piece of Kathy’s property.

Conventional portfolio is up about 20%,

Silver is up about 20% because our cost basis is $14.

With the exception of two stocks we are slammed in our resource stock holdings.

      Jul 06, 2013 06:22 AM

Thanks Bobby. Some would argue that Schiff is a puppet of vested interests. Personally I like the guy…’markets trading on a fake narrative’ says it all.

        Jul 06, 2013 06:29 AM

That is my only concern as well and perhaps he has vested interests. However, when he called the top in real estate, early by selling his Newport Beach, CA home, I told him he was nuts and leaving millions on the table. Turned out we both were correct, but his call turned out to be very rewarding in the long run, many in his neighborhood were unable to sell anywhere near the top.

For example in Federalist #62, Madison specifically warns against congress sneaking through thick complex bills that the public would not understand. He is turning over in his grave at the very though of the public not reading bills. He could never have conceived of any individual member of congress not reading any bill before voting.

Did you know that the Federal Government sent to California $900 million dollars to set up its Health insurance exchange. California then did two things. First it exempted expenditures of this money from the Freedom of Information Act. Then it handed out millions of dollars to: the Service Employees International Union, the NAACP, the AFL/CIO and several other unions.
Interestingly, none were known to have any particular expertise in Health Care Insurance. (I believe it was a thinly=disguised pay-off to Nancy Pelosi, for her efforts in getting the passage of the Affordable Care Act itself.

Don’t follow the carrot!!! These are all side issues (divide and conquer) — the gay issue, the abortion issue, the IRS / church issue, the take back America issue, etc. (ALL of these issues and then some are being used for the purposes of DIVIDING and CONQUERING — and to further the ecumenical agenda) — THE OL’ LIE that we (Christians) must set aside our differences and hold hands to fight this stuff (it will be what the bible calls the apostate church – Catholics, Protestants, Baptists, Lutheran, United, Mormon (yes, there are people who are linking arms with Glenn Beck and the Mormon church to “fight for our rights”), etc. — this is ALL being used to separate the wheat (true believers) from the chaff (the lukewarms who blindly embrace the apostasy) … as well as to get everyone one the same page (global mindset) — crowds are ALWAYS easier to control than individuals, which is why all totalitarian governments forbid “separatism”. This is nothing more than a massive PSY-OP!!! They are playing the “Christian” and “Patriot” groups off of the gov’t and the “Christians” against the gays, pro-abortion crowd, etc. (divide / conquer) and then blur the lines between the various denominations. Those who do not fall for the SET UP will be called intolerant and labeled dangerous for no other reason than that they believe what Jesus said when He warned us about the endtime apostate church.

Good one Jerry, have you noticed how Putin is puttin himself at the top of the World stage by siding with China and The US at the same time. He is starting to look more like a power broker lately; much like an Otto Von Bismarck. Interesting to watch and see what he is up to these days. DT

DT…..Have you read about the China Hubs…..(those are the countries China is starting to trade yuan in stead of having to deal with the dollar)……I read yesterday,I think KWN, that they are even trying to do that with CANADA….what , a hoot, if they are,,,

            Jul 06, 2013 06:04 AM

China is involved in talks to open a major bank in Toronto because they want to make this city part of a currency hub for The Yuan. When I go for walks in this city you wouldn’t believe the line ups of asians at The Chinese consulate in Toronto. I suspect quite a few come here and buy property and then apply for immigration status, the rules mean nothing anymore for those with means. DT

Also at this point in time the constitution doesn’t matter anymore, people might think that it can be altered or added too in order to turn America around but as we know it has been effectively bypassed with “Dollarocracy”.

I have listened to segments 1-4 so far, and would repeat how you Al and your contributors are invariably so gracious and polite, which isn’t just delightful to listen to it reflects the essence of what our Christian faith is all about. Not being shrill is the best riposte to those who are. For the shrill voices be they of the gay/lesbian community or other p.c. pressure groups betray their convictions or lack of against the still quiet voice of reason. Or as the preacher was once mistakenly taught: ‘Point weak here, shout louder’!

Although I would agree with Congressman Jones that although Edward Snowden broke the law, the erosion of your constitution on the grounds of providing greater security is a far more heinous offence. As for Sen Lindsey and others to bang on about Snowden being a felon, a traitor and a coward is surely a case of condemning the mote in Snowden’s eye, even as they’re blind to the beam in their own. After all we have a comparable scenario in Egypt with fallen President Morsi. Democratically elected he may have been, but he’s usurped his position by trying to ride roughshod over the millions of more moderate Egyptians who object to being railroaded by the Muslim Brotherhood. falling back on what is or isn’t the LAW is as old as the very hills of Judea, with the Scribes and Sadducees in Jesus’ day getting all high and mighty over our Lord breaking the law.

Ref segment , Greg McCoach is right to deplore the dead as mutton minds of so many – be they over there or here in the U.K.

Hi guys, Jerry, Andrew, you guys must be talking about Sen. Lindsey Graham(R) of South Carolina ? And who are saying all are morons, me three too. Romans 3:23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:] Galatians 6:1)Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. — Just about talking about who are morons, we all are. The problem is Sen. Graham knows better, so he`s dishonest as such probably most in Congress are. But it is to be noted that since the NSA is out there keeping tabs on everybody, they know what all are doing, so BLACKMAILing isn`t a far stretch for convicing some to do or get found out about, what they have done in secret will be known to all. This threat of exposure is what`s making honest men, dishonest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUkj3cUwVC4 “I spied on Senator Obama in 2004“ — NSA analyst Russell Tice

DENNIS…..the only problem I see with your statement above, concerning morons,,,he is taking money to be a money moron, and a fraud……and liar,,,and one thing GOD CAN NOT STAND IS A LIAR……….,but, outside of that I like what you wrote………

The Next American Revolution (July 4, 2013)
      By Charles H. Smith.

Some July 4th thoughts on revolution as a process rather than an event.
The next American Revolution will not be an event, it will be a process. We naturally turn to the past for templates of the future, but history has a way of remaining remarkably unpredictable. Indeed, all the conventional long-range forecasts made in 1900, 1928, 1958, 1988 and 2000 missed virtually every key development–not just in the distant future, but just a few years out.

The point is that extrapolating the present into the future fails to capture sea changes and developments that completely disrupt the supposedly unchanging, permanent Status Quo. The idea that the next revolution will take a new form does not occur to conventional forecasters, who readily assume the next transition will follow past critical junctures: armed insurrection against the central authority (The first American Revolution, 1781), civil war (1861) or global war (1941).

I submit that the next American Revolution circa 2021-23 will not repeat or even echo these past transitions. What seems likely to me is the entire project of centralization that characterized the era 1941-2013 will slip into irrelevance as centralization increasingly yields diminishing returns.

Everything centralized, from the Federal Reserve to the Too Big To Fail Banks to Medicare to the National Security State depends on the Federal government being a Savior State that must ceaselessly expand its share of the national income and its raw power lest it implode. All Savior States have one, and only one trajectory– they must ceaselessly expand and concentrate wealth and power or they will fail.

They are like the shark, which dies once it stops moving forward: the Savior State must push forward on its trajectory of expansion or it expires.

Stasis is not possible, nor is contraction; the promises made to the citizenry cannot be withdrawn without political instability, but the promises cannot be kept without fatally disrupting the neofeudal financialized debtocracy.

You see the dilemma: The Savior State cannot stop expanding, but the financial system that generates its revenues can no longer support its vast machinery of debt and phantom collateral. This is why I suggest all the centralized concentrations of wealth and power will either implode or fade into irrelevance.

If all the phantom wealth and collateral vanishes in a market clearing event, the Federal Reserve will simply become irrelevant to the vast majority of people. A handful of nimble speculators may well benefit by picking over the carcass of financialization and centralized omnipotence (i.e. central banking), and perhaps the 1/10th of 1% will still have enough assets influenced by the Fed to care, but the forces of disruption will replace centralization with decentralization.

Here is another example: Medicare may not cease to exist, but it will become increasingly irrelevant to most people because it will not longer function. The remaining doctors willing to treat Medicare patients will be working 13-hour days for sketchy pay, and as each one burns out and leaves the system, the system contracts. Eventually it contracts to the point of irrelevance.

The revolution will be in work and social innovations enabled by technology. The conventional view is that technology will magically enable the permanence of the present; this will be proven incorrect, as what technology enables is not the waste, entitlement and centralization that characterize the present but social innovations, some of which are already visible.

If we sought to summarize the profound transformation ahead in one sentence, it would be this: wages are no longer an adequate model for distributing the surplus generated by the economy.

The current Savior State model responds to this by increasing taxes on the dwindling minority with fulltime jobs and increasing entitlement payments to all those without government or private-sector jobs. This model will collapse, politically, socially and economically, as no society or economy can squander half or more of its productive labor force while increasing the burden on the dwindling cohort of productively employed. The inevitable result of this dynamic is a destabilizing Tyranny of the Majority. Tyranny of the Majority, Corporate Welfare and Complicity (April 9, 2010)

Technology is not just disrupting old industries and companies, it is disrupting the entire Savior State/cartel-capitalism model. The disruption has barely begun, but it will pick up speed over the next decade.

I suspect the next American Revolution will begin in the 2015-16 timeframe. A series of interlocking crises will lead to reforms that preserve the Savior State/ cartel-capitalism for another few years, at a lower level of consumption, i.e. burn rate.

CFS Believes the bond market has already peaked (hence his mention of buying TBT in mid-May), the stock market peaks in 2015-6 time period, but with commodities (the last major market) peaking in 2016-7. An exception being oil, which, barring a war, may peak in 2014. CFS belies investments in energy in Uranium and oil services companies will out-perform other energy-related stocks.

People may want to read “The Open Conspiracy” by H. G. Wells, “The Externalisation of the Hierarchy” by Alice Bailey, and “The Aquarian Conspiracy” by Marilyn Ferguson and they would quickly realize that the staging of this US against THEM / the 99% vs. the 1% nonsense was planned a long time ago (a STAGED REVOLUTION by the globalists to usher us into the so-called New Age). And yet, the masses are falling for the hoax — just like the French Revolution (LET THEM EAT CAKE) — history has proven that the globalists staged that bogus event too and the brain dead masses fell for the lie. Do your homework people!!!

    Jul 06, 2013 06:47 AM

PETER YOU ARE RIGHT! THE BIBLE SAYS THAT ALL THAT FOLLOW CHRIST WILL SUFFER PERSECUTION. WE LIVE IN AN EVIL WORLD. GOD SHOWED THE WORLD THROUGH SODOM WHAT HE DOES WITH MAN KIND. ACCEPTING SODOMY IS THE END, FOR A NATION.

It also says…..My people parish ,from lack of knowledge…..

Jerry, somewhere else the Bible also says where there is no vision the people perish.

Raymonde I do sympathise. Half the time God is an inscrutable enigma, and we could talk about his reality or otherwise for absolute hours!

But for some obscure reason I simply cannot give up on him, given that he appears not to have given up on me!!!

Matthew 11:20,23-24)Then said he(Jesus) to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mightest works were done, because they repented not:, v23-24) And thou, Capernaum, which are exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which were done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day, But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee. —- The sin of Sodom in the O.T., Isaiah chapters 1:2–3:26; Hebrews 6:1-6. The list is endless it seems us judging others, I`m as guilty, as all. I judge all, though I`m agreeing as to what you meaning in this single sin, as an outward sin, men with men, women with women,. yet if we judge them who do this sin, we ourselves are judged as sinners Romans 1:18-2:11). There is no little sin and a big sin over here. Sin is sin. As far as saying you are giving people a license to sin, no thats not the case, the sinner has no prohibition. — The only SIN that will damn the soul will be NOT accepting Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour……..

Al, with respect to your comments on removing emotions from discussions, that you had with Peter G:
Emotions are part of the decision-making process. Theories of knowledge and decision-making indicate that without emotion we would not be able to come to conclusions and act in any practical or time-sensitive way. Emotions are a heuristic that we all use to function on a daily basis. Al, maybe you would like to clarify your comments.

Mike…..I agree with you on emotions…….without emotions,,,,you are no more than a frog in boiling water…….

        Jul 06, 2013 06:15 PM

        Okay, okay.

        Old man Al

      Jul 06, 2013 06:49 AM

      🙂

        Jul 06, 2013 06:12 AM

Quite true you guys. Whatever your ideology or religion, anger is a necessary emotion and there ARE times when we should express it. Jesus and the moneychangers is the age-old example of when he was anything but meek and mild.

          Jul 06, 2013 06:09 PM

Hi Andrew, quite true Andrew, as is the case that the Holy Ghost/Spirit was and is God, as Jesus claimed to be many times in N.T., & refering to the then Holy Writ then the O.T., Holy Spirit is quite into making judgment calls upon humanity today. Though we are under grace today, yet if we rebel, we are counted as sinners, to be judged…. Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil – Isaiah 5:20)[Woe for apostasy]

            Jul 07, 2013 07:51 AM

Amen Dennis. Salvation by grace is the most sublime process by which we can sense God’s presence. A

I am definitely with you on this one Reverend!

          Jul 06, 2013 06:53 PM

It also says to love your enemies … turn the other cheek … and I am sorry, but I do NOT see anywhere in scripture where we are told to join together to fight against the authorities – as goes the LIE by the majority of the “Patriot” crowd.

            Jul 07, 2013 07:01 AM

I agree Bentnail that rendering unto Caesar is what Jesus tells us to do, although there can be occasions when ‘turning the other cheek’ becomes the more cowardly option. I see too many instances where Christians can use a distortion of this instruction as a cop-out for walking away from the truth.

The conscience can be invaded as much by Satan as by the Holy Spirit, or as Hebrews 10, 22 puts it: ‘Cleanse me from an evil conscience’ or again where Shakespeare puts it somewhere: ‘Conscience doth make cowards of us all’.

            Jul 07, 2013 07:54 AM

            Interest food for thought, Reverend.

            Big Al

            Jul 07, 2013 07:07 AM

Bent, if you don’t like them “patriots” – why don’t you go to the Queen’s embassy and apply to become a subject of Her Majesty?

LOVE YOUR enemy,,,so, that GOD can heap coals on their head….

            Jul 07, 2013 07:30 AM

I think that a better way to look at this is “Love your enemy so that you don’t drive yourself crazy, But love your enemy as you are shaking the dust from your sandals while walking away!”

            Big Al

BENT….you are correct in your statement,,,but, turn the other check is OT,,,love is NT

      Jul 06, 2013 06:13 PM

      Sorry Mike,

I really meant to say, emotions should be removed from decision making.

I really must be getting old!

    Jul 06, 2013 06:24 AM

You cannot be free and have your income taxed.
If you asked someone…… if 100% of their income was taxed then are they a slave?
    An objective response is yes.
If you ask the same person if 40% of your income is taxed are you a slave the response varies. A proper response would be you are 100%……40% enslaved.
If the fruits of your labor are taxed you are not truly free. You are a slave to the extent of the tax.

    Definition of a slave:

    slave [ slayv ]
    1. somebody forced to work for another: somebody who is forced to work for somebody else for no payment and is regarded as the property of that person
    2. dominated person: somebody who is dominated by somebody or by something
    3. somebody accepting another’s rule: somebody who meekly accepts being ruled by somebody else
You cannot be free with an income tax. We have all been slaves since 1913 and the 16th amendment. You can say the 16th amendment made July 4th more of a memorial than an anniversary celebration.
    Text of the 16th amendment:
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Article I, Section 9, Clause 4 foresaw the enslavement of a direct tax on a citizen whether it taxed their income or was levied upon their head (cap) simply because they exist or as Obamacare levies a tax for uninsured for the act of breathing.
Article I, Section 9, Clause 4…a clause forgotten states
No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken.
Here are a couple “better questions”:
When your breath is taxed then are you free? When you labor is taxed then are you free?

BIG AL…………….YOU NEED TO HAVE DENNIS ON THE SHOW,,,,in lieu of those morons in the govt.,,,,,

People don’t realize that it’s not easy being rich, there are all sorts of social functions involved with this sort of status, things like fundraising where you must deal with printers, and event planners, and people you probably don’t like but must be nice to but at least you have other people who do your grocery shopping and house cleaning.

For me the best life is the simple one where material possessions don’t control your life by the mere fact they are there and need to be looked after. DT

      Jul 06, 2013 06:25 PM

Jpm vaults are due to run out of gold soon. Tapering talk was a test run by the elite?
Listen to some really scary stuff here from pastor Lindsey Williams. The elite appear to be accumulating physical gold by crashing gold on purpose and a sharp bounce should be coming. They are planning to crash the derivatives market too. I have not heard of him before. http://www.lindseywilliams.net/
Listen to the radio show : Proof Negative show – June 2013. Any opinions on this?

      Jul 06, 2013 06:47 PM

Hi Paul L, I`ve heard that too, JPMorgan & probably other bullion banks too are running to near super low volume in Physical Gold, Physical Silver too is running low. Though the Pd is still fairly high in value, probably because the Rothschilds who own Johnson-Matthey have just got about all those companies who mine this metal ore bodies on the planet locked up(under their control). Physical Gold/Silver on the other hand are still held in other hands so far(Not in control of the Rothschilds mining cartel, yet)- one reason I think that is the reason the metals are still down so great as in the so-called bear market. These paper gold/silver ETF`s will be taken-down if PEOPLE will take delivery in the metals when push comes to shove, even if it looks bad to have the physical metals…….. It was I believe that was the reason for the crash dive in April 13-15, 2013, JPMorgan didn`t have the physical metals on hand, so crashed they the market to escape a margin call on the exchange, so they paid in cash instead of the metals. Some super rich Billionaire ought to insist on being paid in metals over cash to wipe out JPMorgan. But hell to get stuck in JPMorgan stock and accounts in that bank when it fails. Ouch on the bail-in for depositors when that day comes….

WELL 150 YEARS AGO TODAY…………..Gen. Lee, is on his way back to the SOUTH,
from the GREAT BATTLE GETTYSBURG………SOON, Pres. Lincoln, will come to the sight at Gettysburg……with his proud speech……..THE GETTYSBURG ADDRESS…..
a great time to be an AMERICAN, if you are from the North Industrial Complex…

The TAX to pay for the War……is 1% on income……,,,,I say that is a great time to be an AMERICAN…………..LOW TAX……

      Jul 06, 2013 06:54 AM

Well, great time to be american if your a white boy not in a military,or a black person or a native person. Otherwise, ya, a great time to be american. lol.

Benb……not all blacks were treated poorly………..while, NEGRO history would have you believe some of the lies,….you need to see, who was putting the blacks in the chains in AFRICA,to begin with……….It was not a white man……….
Although, if you wish to consider doing some reading, you will find, that EVEN WHITES, were slaves to the KING AND QUEEN….in 1606, Check out JAMESTOWN…1622, you might see some additional information that might brighten your horizon……
I will agree, that the COMPLEX, OF INDUSTIAL SLAVERY, HAS put many in SLAVERY…white ,black,,,and albino………….

          Jul 06, 2013 06:31 PM

          Very good point The Tall!

            Jul 07, 2013 07:08 AM

Many periods of history dont care what color or religion you were, they enslaved people equally. Your statement was a great time to be american. Not all blacks were treated poorly? (good treatment being “i am not slave” but ok my relatives are?” Not all blacks being treated poorly does not justify slavery. Even if it were true. My point was it might have been a great time if you were not enslaved a genicide being commited upon you or the wrong religion. So, for white protestants that were not involed in the war, maybe it was a good time.

MY STATEMENT …….GREAT TIME TO BE AN AMERICAN…..REFERRED TO THE TAX, OF 1%

            Jul 07, 2013 07:30 AM

            Okay, I get it now!

            Big Al

Benb……slavery, bondage,…physical, mentally, psycologically…………makes no difference……………MAN …IS EITHER EVIL, OR GOOD…….but, since, the devil is in control of the earth at this moment, generally, the evil in people prevails….Such is as it has been, the difference, is in each human………..

            Jul 07, 2013 07:22 PM

“Such is as it has been, the difference, is in each human………..”

            Jerry, you are correct.
It is within the heart of a person, no book or religion required.
We are born with it, studies have shown this to be the case with children young as just months old, before talking.
If a person doesnt have this , they are now known as psychopath. Those people lack empathy, remorse or conscience.

      Jul 06, 2013 06:29 PM

      Maybe back then!

      Jul 06, 2013 06:05 PM

Jerry, more people died in that battle(Gettysburg) than who died in Vietnam War. And more American people died in our civil war 1861-1865 than in died in both World Wars I&II, Korea War. It was a bloodly massacre for our nation to bear. Yet one good thing happened, Lincoln screwed the Rothschilds out of their interest they would have gotten had he went with their terms on endearment on those greenbacks used as currency then, yet it was they who killed Lincoln because he did do this to them, something left out of our history books of today.

        Jul 07, 2013 07:01 AM

That is a very interesting thought you have there Dennis.

        Big Al

I see not problem with your statement Dennis………I think if you go back you will see my statement ……of the INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, which is still alive and operating today, is little changed…………Slavery to day is DEBT, the chains of DEBT are on all, but, they accept it freely…………Just like the JEWS, who, went to Egypt for food, became and put themselves in BONDAGE…………

    Jul 06, 2013 06:51 AM

Elite aquiring physical gold by crashing its price? Did he mention his first clue?
Tapering a test run by the elites? He is obviously knowledgable about whats going on.
He also said that his elite christian buds had decided to make Romney presedent.

I just dont think too much stock can be put in his opinions. But all the real secrets can be purchased from his church I think, on dvd of course. I never bought them so I really cant say if “save the world” knowledge is on them or not.

BENB……ROMNEY IS NOT A CHRISTIAN……….HE IS A MORMON…..check the difference., “my people will parish for the lack of knowledge.”

        Jul 06, 2013 06:05 AM

        What Mormons Believe
We are all spiritual children of a loving Heavenly Father who sent us to this earth to learn and grow in a mortal state. As Mormons, we are followers of Jesus Christ. We live our lives to serve Him and teach of His eternal plan for each of us.

Sounds pretty christian to me Jerry.

          Jul 06, 2013 06:27 AM

It’s been a looong time since I listened to Walter Martin, but this topic gives me reason to revisit his material.

Mormons believe they are themselves gods-eternal. They do believe in god, they believe they are gods. The gods & goddesses of mormonism. Read `Kingdom of the Cults` by Walter Martin.

            Jul 06, 2013 06:23 PM

Irwin, thats good too, haven`t seen the video yet, but I`ll see it later. Their theology is easy to grasp to counter what they believe. Having the gift of the word of knowledge does help with operating in the Spirit to fend off error.

Benb……they believe in polytheism…………they believe they will be gods on other planets……………..Smith, was in the occult in 1820, went to the woods to prey, to see a light………..they believe , that they will stand before SMITH, JESUS,
They sat that long ago on one of ththe planets ,to an unidentified god and one of this goddess wives, a spirit child named Elohim was conceived..this spirit child was later born to human parents who gave him a physical body. THIS ELOHIM ,,WAS FROM A MYSTERIOUS STAR…called KOLOB…Here the god of Mormonism and his wife thru endless celestial sex , produced billions of spirit children…,from here, the head of Mormon gods called a great heavenly council meeting, BOTHE OF ELOHIMS ELDERST SONS WERE THERE , LUCIFER AND HIS BROTHER JESUS….(this is not Christian)

If you desire other facts…..There is a book called FASTS FACTS ON FALSE TEACHINGS. BY Ron Carlson……..

this is why ,Christians had a hard time voting for Romney………not much of a choice, other than he was good at management……………a token at best………..

BTW…..the mormans spend about $100 million trying to convenience people of their religion………….

            Jul 06, 2013 06:06 PM

No offence Jerry, but that story sounds as logical to me as a fellow heard voices, halucinated and therefore decided to commit a genocide and pediphilia as well as other unmentionable sicknesses is ok too because my god said so.

I really mean no offence, I understand people gotta believe somthing, but outside looking in, both “beliefs” look nuts.
Actually, if you want true sickness, read the talmud or the jewish encyclopidias, follow that religion and its ok to have sex with children as young as 3 years plus a day.I will never understand how reaonably intelligent people can actually be part of such “things”.
Jesus didnt like those people,(pharasees) how on earth anyone could figure he would approve of it in any religion is beyond me.

benb,,,,,you are not offending me one bit,,,,,I enjoy talking to you…..Remember,,,,Jesus said…..MANY WILL COME IN MY NAME…….

benb…..I will say one more thing……..YOU NEED TO RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD,,
which most can not,,,,,that is why you are confused,,,,most Christians can not Rightly divide the word (bible)……Each book in the bible, is talking to someone,,,JEW OR GENTILE………….most get mixed up……….and send mixed messages….

          Jul 06, 2013 06:56 PM

Mormons believe that MAN can become a God of his own planet … and that Jesus and Satan are brothers (that is NOT Christian).

            Jul 07, 2013 07:21 AM

Bentnail, anybody that has christ as their God or teacher, whatever, is christian, christ..ian. The differances is part of what develops differant groups of christians.
ANYBODYs viewpoint can be shown to be correct useing their books. Thats a big reason the religion grows.

For me, mass murder, medical expeimentation, mutilation, torture, pedophilia makes them ALL wrong. The religions, not Jesus. There is a differance. At least that is my belief and I am the first to admit that too could be wrong. I haveing a weak human mind has zero chance of figureing out a gods thinking. I kinda think people that think they can are kidding themselves. But thats just me. I will never believe there is justification for “sick stuff”.

            Jul 07, 2013 07:52 AM

Of course there is absolutely no justification for “sick stuff” Benb!

            Big Al

Benb…..I gave you a book reference……check it out and you can compare for yourself, you determine…….for you will be the one who will be responsible for your future.

            Jul 07, 2013 07:09 PM

And that Jerry is the direct consequence of free will!

            Big Al

            Jul 07, 2013 07:41 PM

Al, I would bet pretty much any jew christian or moslem would agree there is no justification for “sick stuff”
I would just like to know why it is in these religous books and defended (justified) by the religions?
That is my premise for There is somthing wrong with the religions.
If it is garbage, why isnt it acknowledged as trash and removed?
Why teach there is justification for this stuff?

So, I guess you are Leo going to tell me that an M-16 and a toy rifle are the same too since they LOOK ALIKE? They are not … One is a really weapon that will get the job done on the battlefield … One is a fake that will leave you deader than a door knob in the end. This is also true with the REAL Jesus of Christianity and the false Jesus of Mormonism that cannot save a fly.

            Jul 07, 2013 07:37 PM

Bent, I understand your opinion of mormans is they are not christians, thing is, they may have the same opinion about you.(you may have the same opinion of catholics, penticostals, jehovas etc) I have heard it said of all of them.
I am certain all can prove correctness and rightousness useing the christian books.

Just the way I see it. Anyone “following” christ is christian to me.
All the differant christian groups believe they are the “true” christian group.
And lots of them like to think the other groups get to burn for eternity. (good grief)
            To me, that IS christian.

Anyway, I wont ever understand this slavery and genocide and eternal burning from a religion that talks about love. Kind of an oxymoron. (like military intelligence) But, to each his own. I figure liberty is the way to go.

Benb…….this is the third time ,,,I WILL SAY THIS……GO GET THE BOOK I TOLD YOU, CONCERNING ……..FAST FACT….BY CARLSON……,,,,he clearly explains your questions,,,,I will break every religion down for you and you can finally have your questions answered……….

            I said I…I ment..HE ,CARLSON WILL BREAK IT DOWN….

            Jul 07, 2013 07:13 PM

            BENB:

I understand your views too. However, it really boils down to the basics (logic). Is it logical believe that mankind is divine? Well, considering man has not even been able to cure something as simple as cancer (let alone raise the dead or any other miracle), it is simply illogical (and arrogant) to insist that man can become a god of his own planet (Mormon Doctrine). Also, when one considers that Joseph Smith Jr. was a high ranking Freemason and that the Mormon Temple initiation ceremonies are virtually identical to the manmade / occult rituals of Freemasonry, it does NOT take a rocket scientist to figure out that Mormonism is neither true or sensible (and neither is Freemasonry) — Mormonism and Freemasonry are both 100% opposed to true biblical Christianity (they are both works based / man-centered faiths … ONLY the bible teaches faith based / God-centered truths (it is based solely on what HE DID FOR US and not on what WE DO FOR OURSELVES to inherit heaven). That is the key to ALL FALSE RELIGIONS — they ALL focus on MAN and what MAN CAN DO TO EARN HEAVEN — only biblical Christianity (true Christianity) teaches the opposite (it is 100% about what God did for man and we have NOTHING to bring to the table but our sin). EVERY manmade religion (including Catholicism) teaches the reverse (works based doctrines).

Bentnail. Hope this follows your last comment.
I have to say, I like your point.
            Is mankind devine?
Just askin now, wouldnt that have to do with seeing ourselves seperate or part of god? For myself, I view all things as part of the divine or god, creation etc.
Others see themselves as seperate from.
These viewpoints really can change a persons perspective.
Another thing that changes thinking, is do we believe the “god” prefers peace/love etc or violence. You may already see that I see “god” as peace/love and refuse to accept Jesus as condoneing any form of violence.
I feel the records of kjv are mistaken.
I really dont know if it makes any diferance which way we see things anyway.
Some people would argue against the very existance of a “greater conciousness” and who knows? maybe they are right. I of course would disagree with that. lol.
(laugh out loud) for those that dont know, means your making a jockularity or or viewing things litely. Which is what started this conversation to begin with. I was making a “jockularity”

I think he sounds like all those doomsday people that have been preaching the same thing since as far back as when was a kid. They claim the bible is the only thing that can save you which I don’t buy.

      Jul 06, 2013 06:11 PM

Hi again Paul L, To me everybody is waiting for God to manifest something here in the natural, and God is waiting on His people to exhibit His word in their lives to change the world in which they live, NOW. For me, I need to get in good fellowship with God`s people, then be lead by His Spirit to possible get things moving, perhaps ??? I really feel sorry to see the people suffering, but what Am I to due, I`m not God. Just a poor example of a so-called Christian…. Perhaps see it rain, or not rain by faith in God`s Word or an earthquake would due in places around the world, would wake-up people in this end time period we are living in. Dr. Lester Sumrall predicted times we are experiencing today before he died in April 1983, both in written & spoken audio. He spoke of our world would be enveloped in two plagues 1st one would be Islam, 2nd one would be Socialism. Well we are here now, hence the last days are upon us all, now…… A great out pouring of His Spirit with come before than great dreadful day of days in come. ….. Though I have a great mineral deposit of an ore body thats truly super-rich, yet my interest in it has gotten me to think of more important things now, God and the Bible, yet I hate to go into judgment of faith actions. A familar spirit is what to look out for in this day and age — walking in Gods timing is to be keen with……… Now you will see me a nut, oh well, every body see`s me in this light on this site…..

        Jul 06, 2013 06:27 PM

OOPS ERROR in death of Dr. Lester Sumrall, he died in April 1996, I moved here where I live today in April 1983, I musT be tired, its been a long day.

Actually, I don’t know of any Christian that says the BIBLE can save them — JESUS can save them though.

        Jul 07, 2013 07:40 AM

Thats true, only Jesus can save, yet it is preaching the Word that brings faith to the saving knowledge of God in Christ Jesus. And it is a fact that you must have the right Jesus to believe in in the 1st place. — There are many anti-christs that will come in my name…… saying…… a false gospel, etc., etc., etc…..

        Jul 07, 2013 07:56 AM

And, I too don’t know any Christians who say that the Bible can save them. It is Jesus who saves them!

the KJV…..it says………..DO NOT ADD AND DO NOT SUBTRACT FROM THIS WORD.

    Jul 06, 2013 06:58 AM

Al’s comment disguised as a question is one of those areas where the rubber hits the road.
    Al said:
“I find it interesting that people who live in our country…really…..unfortunately a very large number of people who live in our country don’t really understand the total environment that they are living in! They understand their street that they live on. They understand the job that they go to everyday. But I don’t think they really understand some of the issues that we have been dealing with on the program this weekend. In terms of the negative aspects of big government. In terms of the negative aspects that are not reported in the daily press.”

It is a lack of understanding by design!
We live in a synthetic environment.
We live in a hologram of greatness.
We have illusory freedoms accompanied by a mind melting media telling us we are free and great.
We live in a synthetic world where star witness can speak cursively but not read cursive.
We live in a synthetic world of reality TV peepshows into semi-scripted debauched lives passing itself off as entertainment.
We live in a synthetic world where critical thinkers are ostracized Ebenezer Scrooges because we attempt to see beyond the artifice.
We live in a synthetic world which requires a synthetic measure of wealth in order for it to exist.
A lot of media time and effort has been invested to create the perceptions which prevail in the focus of media mind melt economic illiterate zombies.
You can say the large number of which Al refers to exist in economic illiteracy. Economic ignorance is their domesticating corral. Their mind numb is their harness. Their lack of curiosity is their blinders and their reins.
Those who accept domestication are oblivious that they are even in a corral. Some see the large number of domesticated media mind melted numb from a different perspective. Although those select few may live in a similar environment……. at least mentally they are the equivalent of a wild mustang running free looking at the masses enclosed behind the split rail.

It seems that the most hazardous bit of Snowden’s asylum journey is to evade European airspace, most of which it seems ready to deny to any airplane suspected of smuggling him out. The Bolivian president’s plane being recently grounded and searched was testament to that. Small wonder that their president is spitting bullets and now contemplating closing his US embassy.

And finally something completely different. Global Warming. Or maybe Not!

NASA’s Langley Research Center stellite instruments show that the thermosphere not only received a whopping 26 billion kilowatt hours of energy from the sun during a recent burst of solar activity, but that in the upper atmospheric carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide molecules sent as much as 95% of that radiation straight back out into space. This revelation starkly contradicts the core proposition of the so-called greenhouse gas theory which claims that more CO2 means more warming for our planet.
Oops. Seems direct measurement in space of reflection is substantially at odds with the climatologists model.

With Obama’s recent talk of a carbon tax is a clear indication that the ship of state, once the course is set, considers the truth and any new facts irrelevant. Funny, also, how the main media buries the new information, if it is covered at all.

Independence day for those who cannot see:

    From Matthew Chapter 20

20 Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
    26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

    BIG AL,

I finally had time to listen to all segments of the show and have the following comments:

Segment 2- Peter’s observation of intolerance should not be surprising given that our country’s leadership can trace its roots to the “student movements” of the late 1960s. As you lived through that period, would you have expected anything other than what we observe today from former members of the Students for a Democratic Society, the Weather Underground, etc?

Segment 6: The label on the segment should be “INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW BOARDS” not National Review Boards. I have had to deal with these for decades and experienced their evolution from a somewhat helpful way of ensuring participants in research are informed of what they are getting into (3 or 3 page consent forms) to a legal entity that impairs subject understanding and reserach productivity. For an understanding of that an IRB or IACUC is GO TO https://www.citiprogram.org/

Segment 7: I just finished watching a DVD entitled “RESTREPO” about a US unit in a remote location in the Afgan War that was done by an ’embedded reporter’. For the most part it was not very good (typical confused modern presentation of chaotic combat without explaining the mission purpose) EXCEPT for some segments where our soldiers met with local Afgan tribal leaders. The sections with local leaders made it plain that our 2 societies are vastly different and that we are wasting our time, money, and lives being there. We should have withdrawn after the Battle of Tora Bora (despite the stupid prosecution of that operation by our politicians and military leaders).

I hope you get down this far in the comments……

PS-Segment 6-Consent forms in 2013 are now 17-20 pages long and even though I wrote them, I do not understand the legal terminology that we are forced to use to get ‘IRB approved consent forms’ for use in our NIH funded projects.

This weekend I picked up the movie “Charlie Wilson’s War” from my local library; a fairly good movie IMO, but then I like most of Tom Hank’s work … he plays Charlie Wilson.

The movie is available at youtube for a small fee.
      http://www.youtube.com/movie/charlie-wilsons-war

      Quoting from rottentomatoes.com:
“Produced by Tom Hanks, written by Aaron Sorkin, and directed by Mike Nichols, this adaptation of George Crile III’s incendiary bestseller tells the remarkable story of the Texas congressman whose efforts to prevent the Red Army from overtaking Afghanistan eventually led to the collapse of the Soviet Union while simultaneously fueling the rise of radical Islam. In the early 1980s, a hastily assembled army of Afghan “freedom fighters” achieved the remarkable feat of fending off Soviet invaders despite the fact that the odds were overwhelmingly stacked against them. At the time, Texas congressman Charlie Wilson (Hanks) was a key member of the hugely powerful House Appropriations Committee. Illuminated to the specifics of this remarkable war by a high-profile Houston socialite, Wilson spearheaded an effort to provide hundreds of millions of dollars in weapons and training to the Mujahideen with more than a little help from brilliant but prickly CIA operative Gust Avrokotos. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi”
