Another 1/34 million oz of silver left the inventory of SLV yesterday.
Could this be going to China, like GLD gold did? No evidence yet, that I can find.

1.344 million oz Sorry for the typo above.

Even university professors are prone to mistakes!

      Jun 28, 2014 28:34 PM

What did you think of the interviews with Bron?

      Jun 28, 2014 28:01 AM

I don’t listen to Mauldin. I feel he is not very insightful. I heard he does not even do his own investment.

Not to mention the guy never shutsd up.,.or stops writing.

I agree. Very bland, but knows how to market himself.

A lot of folks out there know how to do that really well!

A very important question: Is Israel stirring the pot? Could be and could not be!

        Jun 30, 2014 30:22 AM

Al it matters not one bit if Israel proper is stirring the pot. The financial and political leaders of world Jewry certainly are stirring the pot as they have always done. Jews in general become an accessory to elite Jewish crimes through their ethnic solidarity with their leaders. The results for those who are bye standers is often rather severe but it is the same problem as being an accessory to a crime like murder and armed robbery. World Jewry was viewed as an accessory to the crimes of the Jewish and Masonic Bolsheviks in the Soviet Union. European Jews paid a price for that but they did not learn the right lesson. The lesson being that they should not commit political and financial crimes and don’t undermine public morality. Unfortunately they never learn.

ev, historically in the US poorer folks have not minded the rich getting richer as long as their (the poor) standard of living improved year after year. When the rich get richer at the expense of the rest because of crony fascism, the seeds of revolution are being sown.

          Jun 28, 2014 28:40 PM

Well duh! Of course the work ethic is getting smaller and smaller among some folks!

        Jun 28, 2014 28:06 AM

As long as the middle class is growing nobody wants to rock the boat because there is opportunity and the hope of a better life. Take that away and compress the middle groups while pushing the majority down while just a few rise up and discontentment arises. That is not the same as creating the conditions for revolution though. Such models where the majority are equal at the bottom can persist for centuries.

          Jun 28, 2014 28:00 AM

“Such models where the majority are equal at the bottom can persist for centuries”, that is true only in an uneducated society which is what we are seeing more and more in North America.

            Jun 28, 2014 28:19 AM

uneducated……….is the EDUCATION SYSTEM….sponsored by the FED.GOVT.,, true education,,,will not exist, while the sheeple allow the govt. to have anything to say about education. But, the sheeple are asleep……..and do not care.

            Jun 28, 2014 28:55 AM

Yes DT. In fact I was thinking of India as an example and you are correct that there is a huge educational divide between the wealthy and the poor. Same kind of thing was seen during the dark ages before the enlightenment or in places like Ireland where most of the people became serfs on rented lands. Here in Africa the same thing persists today without outward signs of trouble. The wealthy might represent a slim 3 to 5% of the population and almost everyone else is in a very low income band that lies miles below the elites. But they are all poor together so maybe that is why it works and education levels at the bottom are thin. On the other hand a middle class is fast coming into being partly as a result of property liberalization. It makes the society more buoyant and optimistic due to growth, opportunity and hope. You made an excellent point though. Education plays an important role. Large numbers of disenchanted youth who are self actualized, well educated and aware of their circumstances can be a problem waiting to happen if idle too long. Before you know it they are sitting around beer parlours and coffee houses writing their own version of Mein Kampf and plotting political change. That seems to be a recurring theme in developed nations going into decline.

            bb
            Jun 28, 2014 28:04 AM

your right bird, there are people writing their books for change, seems these isis guys have found people that agree with them.

I thought they would move a little faster than they have, but I guess they are short of committed loyal troops so consolidation is in order.
these guys could end up with their empire yet.

            Jun 28, 2014 28:53 PM

I don’t follow Iraq or the ISIS thing too closely. Seems to me they are doing the usual though. It just repeats and repeats except with these guys they want to turn the clock back on education and force feed their version of justice and religion (is that about right?).

looks to me they want the boarders put back the way they were before the west changed them., they could do it, what it is really exposeing is what the west is and have done.
they making it obvious how corrupt the west is, supporting isis in Syria and opposing them in Iraq, both places they are American trained, funded and supplied.
Its actualy treason I would think, all this on top of an illegal war for non existant wmd.
What the heck, its only 500k children and an ancient culture dead.
We know its ok as Pelosi? says its “worth” it. Good lord the sickness exposed.
Of course these isis guys will find support, the world is tired of the americans.

            Jun 29, 2014 29:16 AM

I realize that this comment came in early yesterday and I am sorry that I am so late in commenting.

There is no short term solution to this problem which is the fault of both parties in my opinion. It is also, to an extent, the part of society for not demanding changes in the educational system.

Is the problem the unions? A lot of people would say, yes.

Good example of complaining and not taking action.

        Jun 28, 2014 28:48 PM

You have to identify the source of the blood sucking and I would nominate the lack of serious wage increases for the working man in order to fight inflation and to increase profits plus the unceasing real estate profiteering since the end of WW2. I am sure that there are more problems but these have my attention at this time.

        Jun 28, 2014 28:39 PM

        Yes they certainly are!

      Jun 28, 2014 28:38 PM

    CFS
    Jun 28, 2014 28:59 AM

Bullard may be telling the truth about inflation, but as reported on King world news there is already a hint of QE3 starting.
I don’t see how interest rates can be allowed to rise, without the economy collapsing.
On the other hand, if they overtly print dollars much more, the dollar goes into a slow death spiral.
Let’s face it. With an incompetent Congress containing members only interested in re-election. With a President who is at a minimum a socialist extremist, not interested in compromise. Leaving the economy to the Federal Reserve is a disaster, since the Fed can only control the cost of money. That is the WRONG TOOL.
To get an economy to expand, instead of contract, incentives of a free market have to be used. China and Russia have both learned that lesson. Regulations have to be reduced, taxes have to be cut. Those are carrots. If you want to use a stick; then welfare benefits have to be cut. Economics is not exactly rocket science. There have been many examples of different countries with different gradations of capitalism and socialism throughout the world throughout the centuries from which to draw wisdom. Does no politician in the US have any commonsense anymore? Are they so partisan polarized that they care not about the country?

      Jun 28, 2014 28:10 PM

      Should it be QE4? QE3 startedin 2013

        Jun 28, 2014 28:20 PM

September 2012 QE3 started to buy MBS. Jan 2013 is the time they started to buy treasury and people nicknamed it as QE4

      Jun 29, 2014 29:25 AM

I have been giving this a lot of thought so far today (Sunday) cfs.

We are obviously at a real stagnation point with neither head of the snake willing to even consider what the other is saying.

This is one of the major problems that we face.

People have to be more vocal and stop just complaining. Don’t you agree?

        CFS
        Jun 29, 2014 29:02 PM

No one in power is listening to the voice of the people.

As for the people; a clear majority are content, feeding at the trough of the state.
When the swill runs out, the people will be upset, and violence will occur, but it will be too late. I’m pretty sure it is now too late. This ship of state is not going to be turned around. The captain had rough waters, but decided to head straight for the rocks and drill some more holes in the hull to ensure the sinking.
You are right; complaining does not serve much purpose. Greed, corruption and laziness are winning.

          Jun 29, 2014 29:02 PM

Can I say this….you are totally delusional, man. The stuff you write actually makes me sick. Why don’t you wrap up your sick political garbage into a little itty bitty flag and bury yourself in it because your mind is poisoned with so much hatred and self loathing. Of all the people who write here every day I find you the most loathsome and disgusting.

But Al loves you because he *thinks* you are rich. Too fuckin stupid for words.

The New Green is the Old Red.
That is to say the current Environmental movement has been taken over by the old Marxist who have indoctrinated into the american school system as a religion.
Since Obama took office there have been, I am told, 27,000 new regulations imposed on US industry. The potential of a carbon tax imposed by regulation, and not through Congress will be the last straw.

      Jun 28, 2014 28:17 AM

Red Shield has been pushing for global tax for a long time. Agenda 21 seems to be the final big push, using Global Warming as the environmental false flag. It’s marvellously clever. Devotees refer to skeptics as enemies of “science.” It’s the new religion. Rgds

I will say it again Reverend, he is an interesting man.

By the way I have a serious recommendation for you. If you have not read it, I strongly recommend you read a little book called, “Betrayed”. It provides a very strong argument for the existence of Jesus. The way the author came to this conclusion is very interesting.

    Jun 28, 2014 28:25 AM

Off message: Yesterday 26 of the 28 EU countries voted in favour of Jean-Claude as their new president. Only Hungary and GB voted against, which arguably puts PM Cameron between a rock and a hard place, with UKIP leader Nigel Farage not so quietly rubbing his hands in glee.

      Jun 29, 2014 29:57 PM

Should have read Jean-Claude Juncker. Headline in yesterday’s Guardian goes: ‘The EU’s ‘democratic’ system that elected a president nobody wants. That’s what happens to democracy in the end: First get’s compromised, then corrupted, before poisoning all participants.

The energy sector is more dangerous than the gold sector……..Political influence, is far more dangerous to the energy sector than any gold manipulation of the fed.
The technology is completely at the mercy of the politician/govt/big money(corporate giants)…..the little technology companies do not have a chance.
Cheap oil has been over since 1971.

        Jun 28, 2014 28:05 AM

In Canada gas is above $5 a gallon, last week I calculated we were paying $5.40 per CDN gallon which is slightly larger than the US gallon.

          Jun 28, 2014 28:30 AM

It is mostly tax in Canada. Alberta gas is 1.25 per litre

            Jun 28, 2014 28:59 AM

You guys are getting hooped. It is less than a dollar a litre over here. Mind you the Mid East and cheaper sweet oil is pretty close by.

            Jun 28, 2014 28:32 PM

we have been getting “hooped” for a long time………….

            Jun 28, 2014 28:52 PM

My price of 1.25 is in Canadian Dollar. It translate to 4.4 US$ per gallon. Alberta is cheapest in Canada.

            Jun 28, 2014 28:14 PM

I remember US gas price was around one third of Canada. Now we are in the same ballpark

            Jun 29, 2014 29:47 AM

1/10d (one shilling and ten old pence) in old money folks, back in 1963 and that was for a GALLON! Roughly translated that’s 2.2 new pence per litre!!!! Now stands at £1.30 per litre if you’re lucky.

            Jun 29, 2014 29:50 AM

Yeh but that is about $5 per gallon for regular!

            Jun 28, 2014 28:10 PM

I payed 1.49 per litre yesterday in Melbourne, Australia.
that was the cheapest it had been all week !

            Jun 28, 2014 28:52 PM

            SO Skeeta………there are 3.785 liters in a gallon………..x $1.49,,,us $5.369 , that is a bunch………..I am glad to pay $3.89…..or do we need to do a conversion…$ to ausie

            Jun 29, 2014 29:18 AM

Really? That is incredible. Six dollars a gallon? Who caused it though….the NDP, the Socreds or the Liberals…..it is almost all tax of course. Jun 29, 2014 29:57 AM

bird, the tax in vancouver on gas would blow your mind.. Im sure Cory would agree!! Federal tax 5%, provincial (i think 20ish%, and our loved CARBON TAX / lets fund privately owned PUBLIC transit tax = approx a whole lotta bulls hit. oh and we get to pay 25 bux a year to have our vehicles “aircared”

            Jun 29, 2014 29:58 AM

Twenty five only? I was there more than a decade back and after Air Care my bill ran into the many hundreds to make compliance. Great little truck too. It was a 4X4 Toyota that took me everywhere into the hills but I loved it because it didn’t matter if she got scratched and dinged up along the way. A real bush truck that went where only bears and prospectors went. Air Care almost condemned her to the scrap heap though. Pack of idiots in that department more intent on wrecking vehicle than saving the air.

            Jun 29, 2014 29:57 AM

Down here just outside of Blaine, Wa we are paying about $4/gallon or less for regular.

        J..the long…Ditto……

        Jun 29, 2014 29:49 AM

I kind of disagree and here is why.

Yes the “big cheeses” have a lot of power. But so do the little cheeses if they just put their minds to it.

The real problem is: “Do they have the minds put to it or are they just going to listen to the big shots.

        Eventually they will not!

          Jun 29, 2014 29:52 PM

the sheeple are quite comfortable ,(,so they think) ,with the current go along, get along, things will work out…..because Charlie said so……….jmho……..jr owl

      Jun 28, 2014 28:04 AM

Honestly, at current grades we should not even be mining gold anymore. It is utterly destructive of the environment on so many counts and the grades are so pathetically low it is really a wonder any government permits it to happen anymore. Would anyone here really care if all gold mining came to a halt worldwide (by international convention)? Serious question. It has little manufacturing merit. We just dig it up and store it in vaults. Don’t we have enough to squabble over already?

        Jun 28, 2014 28:07 AM

Maybe the cost of production due to energy inputs will eventually dictate the industry. We all think that gold cannot fall below the cost of production. But if it does then eventually most of the high cost mines would just close down or be put in mothballs.

        CFS
        Jun 29, 2014 29:10 PM

Bird, What about copper, rare earths, Aluminum, graphite, potash, coal, salt, silver?

It probably would be less harmful to the environment if we just killed off half the world’s population and let the rest live in mud huts and tend crops by hand.

          Jun 29, 2014 29:47 PM

Hmmmm, let me think about that just a bit!

          Jun 29, 2014 29:33 PM

What about we don’t mine gold anymore? You really need more gold? Does it improve anything? You think the world is better for it? Maybe we need to put more in the vaults. Maybe it is good to leach heaps and poison the shit out of the soils and water and waste resources so we we can all sit around and masturbate about how WUNDERFUL gold is for our lusty sexy pleasure and all get rich together. Or maybe we ban ALL gold mining since the industry is just a bunch of shit and thieves and liars. How about that you idiot?

            Jun 29, 2014 29:38 PM

Did I mention I think you are an idiot? OK….you are an idiot CFS.

            Jun 29, 2014 29:57 PM

            Birdman,you got it bad.
Gold is the antidote to the world’s thieves and liars and mass murderers.
Sad that the Rothschilds and Hapsburgs had to facilitate the demise of tens of millions when they put gold on the top of the list of world domination of their fiat backed by gold.
Plastics are a bigger problem.Might want to get on that rant.

            Jun 29, 2014 29:13 PM

You are an idiot too. ALL gold mining is a waste of precious energy and resources. All of it is done to enrich just a few Western Oligarchs and insiders. You are such a sucker to buy into all the hype and bullshit. Don’t you get that?

            Jun 29, 2014 29:18 PM

I am only saying that all gold mining should be banned by international convention and it should be shuttered worldwide for the good of humanity and the the good of all the people that enjoy the planet earth. The whole industry is bullshit from beginning to end and it is so destructive I do not have words to express my disgust with the business.

            Tom
            Jun 29, 2014 29:00 PM

80% of mining is not “nessesary” we all don’t need to live like Americans….but that is the trend…the world cannot support all humans living an American lifestyle…mining gold is the least of our problems.

            Tom
            Jun 29, 2014 29:05 PM

Also 80% of the worlds gold is in the hands of the people.

        Jun 29, 2014 29:47 PM

Certainly would send the price to da moon!

          Jun 29, 2014 29:38 PM

          Going there now.

            Jun 29, 2014 29:20 PM

Sarcasm of course. I hope gold bombs and crashes. It is the right thing for it to do. And so down she goes…………Suckers!!!…………………..Ha Ha Ha!!!!!

      Jerry,
COMMON SENSE…I guess a lot of people just dont get it!

The East will accumulate enough gold to support the emancipation from Western manipulated market forces.
The proxy leader in the US does nothing but take direction as to what he says and does. Not sure why the confusion as this has been obvious for decades.

I agree so let’s get awareness up and then something will happen.

Hi there, just saw a report that the problem of gold debt is 90 billion yuan not 90 billion dollars. The report is issued by Chinese Bureau of Audit. China has tightened the control of gold sells and authorize 12 banks to deal with gold and more governance may come later.

Be careful, any number for internal consumption is in Yuan and international is dollar. Since China call both unit yuan so it has to say US yuan to mean US dollar. These deals mostly come from borrowing US$ from abroadand saying they will buy gold. So USD borrowing will be scrutinized as well.

    http://bbs.wenxuecity.com/wsj/6090.html

      Jun 28, 2014 28:04 PM

The report says that this 94.4 billion yuan is related to illegal gold trade and guarantee. But it did not say all of this are missing or have multiple promises.

At least some of these are related to tight monetory policy in China and claiming to have metal (Copper, Gold, etc) as guarantee can make it easier to get US dollar loan from abroad since US is much loser in the monetory policy. These people will use the money to do high margin deals.

Guest Post: “COMEX – Why It’s Corrupt”, by Ted Butler

By Turd Ferguson | Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:33 am
In light of this week’s freakishly grotesque Commitment of Traders Report, I thought it best to reprint Uncle Ted’s latest column to subscribers, which he decided to make public yesterday.

If you haven’t yet seen this week’s CoT, the details can be found here: http://news.goldseek.com/COT/1403897591.php and I will be discussing it fully in a podcast later this morning. In the meantime, just know this:

In their vain attempts to contain price and stall this nascent rally, The Bullion Banks issued paper metal in record proportions. For the Wed-Tue CoT week, the price of gold rose $49 or about 4%, to contain this move, the gold “commercials” added over 53,000 contracts to their NET SHORT position. This is an increase of some 67%! The news was just as disgusting in silver where, on a CoT-week price rise of $1.32 or 6.5%, the silver “commercials” added over 20,000 contracts NET SHORT. That’s an increase of 85%…in one week!

These are hopelessly broken and corrupt paper “markets”. Thanks, Ted, for all your continued efforts to shine the light of truth.

      COMEX – Why It’s Corrupt

      by, Ted Butler

It is one thing to label (libel?) the world’s most important precious metals exchange as the most corrupt; but perhaps quite another to prove it in terms beyond reasonable doubt. First, let me be clear in what I am asserting – the Commodities Exchange Inc. (COMEX), owned and operated by the CME Group, has come to control and manipulate the price of gold and silver, as well as copper, for the sole benefit of certain exchange insiders, most prominently JPMorgan.

Seg. 4- Chris Temple asks why we still have $100 oil if fracking is great. Marin Katusa (and many others) says the days of cheap oil are over.
First, how do we know that oil wouldn’t be much higher if not for fracking? Second, the days of expensive oil have been brief. Adjusted for inflation, oil is currently only modestly above its forty year average.
Why is it lost on everyone (including the popular Jim Puplava) that oil is not up, the dollar (and all paper currencies) is down?
The days of a strong and stable U.S. dollar is what’s over.

        Jun 28, 2014 28:43 PM

I couldn’t believe it when Puplava and his bond guy (Rob?) were so giddy about the fact that a certain muni bond that was paying 7% in 2007 was still paying 7% in 2013. The fed funds rate was 20 times higher in 2007. Don’t these guys understand that 7% in today’s environment reflects much greater risk? That bond would be paying a lot less if its risk profile hadn’t changed –look what happened to 3 month CDs, for example:
        http://www.thedigeratilife.com/images/3-month-cd-rates-2.jpg
(Sorry, I don’t remember which show it was, but I bet I’m not the only one who remembers that interview.)

          Jun 29, 2014 29:10 PM

Jim Publava is trying to offer service to all spectrums so I understand his position on bond. However, Mr. Puplava changed most if not all his opinions during last year. Even his prediction did not change dramatically but his reasoning has made a big shift. I am quite disappointed. He might be right with the wrong reasons eventually but his recommendation may miss some great opportunities. For example, he dropped his peak oil theory and change to a peak cheap oil theory, which everyone known as facts. During the year or two, oil stocks was undervalued and appreciated better than general stock market recently. His is a lot less bullish on gold and dropped his Maalox theory, which may result in a lot of his subscribers to reduce gold holding at the low. He also claims that US is the best looking house in a bad neighborhood which may result his client overly concentrating in US equity. He also keep making fun of gold bugs for their stupidity and forget he was once strong gold proponent. Now his Wall Street blow dry term is aimed at the perma-bears instead of perma-bull .

I still subscribe to his broadcast just to make sure I am not missing anything. I feel he is strongly influenced by Martin Armstrong. But anyway, his is the only one among all the people I follow who dramatically changed his opinions. Maybe James Dines is another one but I am not surprised by his change and his change is not inconsistent. with his previous theory

            Jun 29, 2014 29:59 PM

I think it’s low of him to knock gold investors after years of cheerleading AND NOT getting them out near the top. He considers himself an Austrian but his Keynesian training always comes through. Like many of his peers, he’s not very logical either. On the subject of manipulation, he has said many times “if gold is manipulated, why is it such and such dollars and not still $250?” I would never park money with anyone that would make such a foolish comment –or invest in a company like Tyhee!
At least I think the guy means well.

            Jun 29, 2014 29:41 PM

Mathew, I think he knows something behind the scene but he can not say it openly. I rember that a few times he touched on what he really thinks. Therefore he find some excuses to justify the outcomes which might as well come from other reasons. I remember he once said that he does not want to advertize manupulation so that most clients will think he is “one of those guys” so they run away. He knows that gold is suppressed and other markets are pushed up so he make up reasons which support the moves. He will appear right later. When the time is right, he will change back. Martin Armstrong will let him know.

I have noticed that he no long does Q-calls and a lot of good guests no longer show up. Is this his decision or others are disgusted by his behavior? You never know.

When time is tough, you know a person’s true color. Not everyone has a spine made of steel, especially when money is involved.

            Jun 29, 2014 29:43 PM

I find his support of Janet Yellen most appaulling!

            Jun 29, 2014 29:06 PM

I agree, Lawrence. Jim’s show is more a commercial than a public service. Considering his (needless) attempt at TV news over 20 years ago, I think it’s also safe to say that he’s drawn to the limelight.

            Jun 30, 2014 30:36 AM

I submit that something happened to JP about 5-6 years ago. His analysis changed abruptly and has suffered ever since.

Keep in mind that we are not in the 70s or 80s when fracking used to be an issue. New clean technologies exist and are used according to engineers onsite. Riddle me this:
How deep typically is oil or gas? Answer. 1,000 to 5,000 feet typically
How deep is ground water? Answer typically 50-200 feet.
How far can you break rock by fracking? Answer 10-20 feet.

How can breaking rock for 10-20 feet around a bore at 1,000 affect water several hundred feet away?

        Jun 28, 2014 28:36 PM

        The answer is simple…………
At 10-20 feet, there is a direct correlation between the distance traveled of sonic sound waves traveling a distance of 1000 feet caused by the trimmer of the moving sound particles that vibrate the surround rock strata. The surrounding rock strata picks up the vibration of the fracking sound, which was caused by the trimmer of the enormous amount of energy that is released by such activity. The released energy , permeates through the surrounding rock strata , and is magnified 50 x through hydrothermics. Which occurs naturally at these depths. The fracked rock, at 10-20 feet, which became bored , decides to travel the known distance of 1000 feet to intersect the water particles several feet away.

          Jun 28, 2014 28:39 PM

Individual and National sovereignty, as well as the natural right to property and the means of production by individuals, are and will always be the enemies of the Statists and Marxist central planners.

I think big lies contribute more to social destabilization than ‘truth-seeking.’ If more people pursued truth, there would be a good deal less fear and anger.

The Western central planners can print as much currency as they want, as well as to write off any country’s debt at anytime if it suits their dictates and purposes, at no cost to them whatsoever. While it makes sense in the short and medium term that the existing amount of cash that has been created behind the stock and bond markets bubble will eventually flow into the most undervalued assets, like natural resources, PMs, etc., the ultimate goal is to create a 100% digital society in the very long term, in my opinion. The Oligarchs know for well that the current financial system is unsustainable, nearing the end, and that the best way to gain public acceptance for digital currency is to present it as a free and independent system from central banking. I would not be surprised if Bitcoin is a forerunner test of what is to come. In other words, it makes perfect sense for the digital world to become the backbone of the envisioned new world order.

Re Not Evil Just Wrong, I submit that some of the people tied to the green agenda are truly evil. Capital misallocation to the tune of billion$ for sweetheart “green” pork projects is certainly evil.

Some people are very good at skimming and speed reading. Speaking for myself, I try to cover a few dozen articles daily. It helps to visit websites that collect articles pertinent to topics of interest. Mr. Korelin sometimes offers direct links to special content from some of his guests. It’s a good way to promote newsletters and other products and services. Rgds

This probably just hard bargaining. In my opinion Russia has no intention of permanently stopping gas flow through a multi-billion dollar pipeline.
Ukraine has massive corruption, completely destabilized by US meddling. It is however a country with some of the best agricultural soil in Europe/asia. Russia is merely warning Ukraine to pay for its gas.
