The BOJ’s Kuroda has made it clear that the BOJ will continue to pursue Quantitative and Qualitative Easing (QQE) and Interest Rate Targeting as the inflation target continues to be pushed out in time. The Bank of England and the Bank of Canada previously raised interest rates but left little doubt in investors’ minds that there is no urgency to do so again in the coming months.
Northern Dynasty recruits Retired Major General Mark Hamilton.
Alaska Salmon Wars turn a new page.

Do you think this is enough for them to get their permits and actually move the project forward without too much environmental push back?
Hi Shad:
There are a lot of people in Alaska who don’t make their living fishing Bristol Bay,or make it to the Bristol Bay Drainage to partake in the World Class fishing.
At this point I would give it a 50/50 chance.
At the bottom of Lake Iliamna there is a village called Igiugig. Igiugig has a population of 50 people and one of them graduated from Dartmouth.Any hoo she has gotten on board she says as an “advisor” For me this is a turning point as she was one of the staunchest opponets. The best thing for Northern Dynasty would be for the price of crude oil to stay low forcing the AK Legislature to consider mining projects as revenue sources to fill budget short falls.
Thanks JohnK. Interesting comments on Igiugig lady that has changed here tune and been brought in as an adviser. They seem to be laying down the groundwork to try to get this massive project off the ground, but if it is going to really mess up the salmon fishing, then it may not be worth the candle.
Of course many have talked about the massive size of the poly-metallic deposit with Pebble, and if it was doable, it may become a globally significant mine. While it would be great for the Alaskan economy to bring in all the jobs and ripple effect from all the people coming into the area from afar, I’m still befuddled as to how they’d raise the capital necessary for such a large project.
It will be interesting to see how far along it gets this metals cycle, after stalling on the last 2. Again, if there is a way to do it safely, without trashing the habitat around it, then maybe there is still hope for Pebble.
Personally, I wrote off the project in the last cycle, and have seen so many pump jobs from Casey, Rule, and Katusa over the years that it often seemed disingenuous to keep taking investors money when they didn’t have a reasonable chance. Maybe the tide has finally turned for Northern Dynasty 2 decades later….
Good comments Shad:
My Son in Law was doing some helio work for them this past week end. I have a pretty good pulse on things.I might just end up eating my words about what I said about Marin K.
Please keep us posted on any important updates and what the assessment is on the ground.
Theralase stock is halted in the US after a 50% crash last week and a 50% increase this week. What the heck is going on?
Oil should be correcting and I am out of it and waiting. I expected 52.50 when it hit 55 and now it may not get there but should fall to 54 at least. Bought back my ACB at a higher price of 5.00 as it took off i the premarket to 5.88. Now at 5.66. Bought back some Weed too,.
I bagged 14% net on a West Texas trade in UWTIF. Still have a core position at a much higher price. Chart was looking a little toppy. First oil profits for me in over a year!
I had bad luck earlier in the year with losses but I just took an xop gain of 7500 last week and about 11000 a week earlier.
I hoping Xop goes down to the 200 day near $34.
For people interested in oil, the Hothi in Yemen have threatened the Saudi tankers.
Saudi (the good guys) have blockaded the Yemeni ports, Yemen(the bad guys) has a cholera epidemic happening, lots of children dying and threatened, the Yemenis know we support the Saudis so they dont make the decision lightly but they are desperate to save their children, enough now to begin attacks on oil tankers.
One tanker down and it’ll be profits thru the roof.
Saudi the good guys? lol
URA uranium etf took off last week. I had a 11.95 cost and it went to 14.40. I sold out at 13.75 in a panic when the market starting falling hard and the vix shot up which was a mistake.
Gann Global has a much shorter free update on the metals. I happen to agree with his call. Down into year end or so and then up big time.
