    Way to go, Big Al.

Some of us just have long memories, and pretty much hate most politicians.
I, not being a Christian, am very slow to forgive mistakes (including my own) and have no reluctance at tossing stones, first or second.

I am all for forgiving, but that doesn’t mean you forget, condone, or honor someone for doing them. The atrocities they foisted on other countries will not be forgotten for a LONG time, and their motives are sickening. Yes, most politicians have skeletons in the closet, but the Bush family committed huge wrongs on the planet, just like the Clintons, and were the epitome of cronyism politics. If we are going to be balanced, then let’s not put past slime balls on a pedestal just because they are “conservative” (when really they aren’t they are NeoCons and globalists).

Big Al – You’ve made a big case against the Clintons in countless editorials and are absolutely right to do so. The Clintons have been a crime syndicate, and scourge upon the world for far too long, and their morals are not to be found.

      * Now imagine posting a key editorial topic that read like this:

“Bill Clinton is courageous for speaking out against sexual predators, and Hillary Clinton was courageous as Secretary of State for making sure Russian deal makers got big briefcases full of money.”

Big Al – How would you feel after reading it? Would just respond with “Yeah, Bill really understands womens feelings” or “Yeah, Hillary sure was courageous”.

      I seriously doubt it.

Whatever Clinton involvement there was in greasing the skids so the Obama department heads would give the Uranium One deal a green light, pales in comparison to what the Bushes and their cabinets did with their involvement in the Carlyle Group, or Halliburton, or hooking up their pals at so many defense contractor jobs.

What is worse is all the proxy wars they raged against so many other countries, the lack of respect for human life (both our troops and their citizens), and the defiling of respect for Americans on the national stage.

        Excelsior says:

Big Al – One place to look beyond the Kennedy, CIA black ops, Drug Running, and Guns running from George HW Bush, is to look at the conflicts between Bush and what he did with the Carlyle Group. That is just the tip of the iceberg, but is enough to determine where his true interests laid.

The Carlyle Group, integrated by the Bush and bin Laden families awarded a billion dollar contract to “rebuild” Iraq:

US arms group heads for Lisbon
        6 April 2003

“Directors of one of the world’s largest armament companies are planning on meeting in Lisbon in three weeks time. The American based Carlyle Group is heavily involved in supplying arms to the Coalition forces fighting in the Iraqi war.”

“It also holds a majority of shares in the Seven Up company and Federal Data Corporation, supplier of air traffic control surveillance systems to the US Federal Aviation Authority. The 12 billion dollar company has recently signed contracts with United Defence Industries to equip the Turkish and Saudi Arabian armies with aviation defence systems.”

“Top of the meeting’s agenda is expected to be the company’s involvement in the rebuilding of Baghdad’s infrastructure after the cessation of current hostilities. Along with several other US companies, the Carlyle Group is expected to be awarded a billion dollar contract by the US Government to help in the redevelopment of airfields and urban areas destroyed by Coalition aerial bombardments.”

“The Group is managed by a team of former US Government personnel including its president Frank Carlucci, former deputy director of the CIA before becoming Defence Secretary. His deputy is James Baker II, who was Secretary of State under George Bush senior. Several high profile former politicians are employed to represent the company overseas, among them John Major, former British Prime Minister, along with George Bush senior, one time CIA director before becoming US President.”

“The financial assets of the Saudi Binladen Corporation (SBC) are also managed by the Carlyle Group. The SBC is headed up by members of Osama bin Laden’s family, who played a principle role in helping George W. Bush win petroleum concessions from Bahrain when he was head of the Texan oil company, Harken Energy Corporation – a deal that was to make the Bush family millions of dollars. Salem, Osama bin Laden’s brother, was represented on Harken’s board of directors by his American agent, James R. Bath.”

“The connection between the Bush and bin Laden families can also be traced to the collapse of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) in the 1990s. Members of the Anglo Pakistani bank’s board of directors included Richard Helms and William Casey, business partners of George Bush senior and former CIA agents. During their time at BCCI both Helms and Casey worked alongside fellow director, Adnan Khasshoggi, who also represented the bin Laden family’s interests in the US.”

“The Portugal News has been told by a reliable source that the Carlyle Group meeting in Lisbon will discuss the relationship between the Saudi Binladen Corporation (SBC) and Osama bin Laden. Many US officials claim that the SBC continues to finance his political activities, and has done so for many years. If true, this would place George Bush senior and his colleagues at the Carlyle Group in an embarrassing position. As managers of SBC’s financial investments they might well be accused of indirectly aiding and abetting the United States’ number one enemy.”

“Bush managed to respond to the winding down of the Cold War by getting the U.S. deeply embroiled in the Middle East quagmire from which the country has yet to get out over two decades later, angered his own conservative base by going back on his “no new taxes” pledge, and lasted only one term. Angry middle class Republican base voters more worried about their jobs going overseas while the Republican Party wanted to play culture wars flocked to Ross Perot in 1992 while Bill Clinton ran a very different campaign from Dukakis to win in 1992.”

            >> Things that happened during his administration

“The Satanic panic peaked just around the time he was elected. Manuel Noriega, the unelected military strongman of Panama, was ousted by Bush after it became public knowledge that Noriega made drug deals with the US as part of the funding given to the Contras. Bush, as Director of the CIA, blocked investigations into Reagan’s Noriega’s shadiness. Bush forced him to stand trial, but not for murder, and instead for drug trafficking, money laundering, and (we aren’t kidding) racketeering. As we just hinted, Noriega had been paid by the CIA to do the things he was accused and convicted of. Eventually, Noriega was tried for murder and convicted… by France.”

“During his time in government, the checkout scanner/UPC bar code system was widely implemented, but no one told him in an elaborate practical joke to make him look clueless while running for re-election in 1992 against the upstart hillbilly, Bill Clinton, who went on to win, using the slogan “It’s … stupid!”

“The Cold War officially ended on his watch, and aside from his “Chicken Kiev” speech the USSR thankfully fell apart with all the nukes in their place. In 1991-1992, a economic recession occurred due to a spike in oil prices post-Gulf War, and the bursting of the Reagan-era housing bubble from the ’80s, leading to three million people being unemployed. This gave Clinton the electoral advantage.
            Water baron”

“Perhaps thirsty from all these money-as-water metaphors, the Bush family purchased 100,000 acres in the Paraguayan Chaco, giving them access to the Guarani aquifer, one of the largest fresh water reserves in the world.[8]
            Bad Company”

“Before his promotion to Bush 41, Poppy was involved in a laundry list of crimes that permanently blackened the Agency’s reputation. As CIA honcho under Ford, he was put in charge of “Crisis Management” e.g. mopping up after the Agency’s involvement in coup d’etats and assassinations, including the ‘first’ September 11 — the 1973 murder of Salvador Allende which plunged Chile into a 17-year fascist dictatorship — and the Iran Contra affair. Over the next decade Langley spent over $3 billion establishing the Taliban, the Mujahadeen, and Osama bin Laden as CIA assets.”

The oligarchical Bush family of generational treason reaching back to the namesake of the two Bush presidents, George Herbert Walker. The way we do anything is the way we do everything. In the same manner that Prescott Bush traded with the Nazi industrial complex against the United States during WWII, so too did both Bush presidents with the Carlyle Trading Group and Bin Laden family. “Rumours of a link between the US first family and the Nazi war machine have circulated for decades. Now the Guardian can reveal how repercussions of events that culminated in action under the Trading with the Enemy Act are still being felt by today’s president”

“George Bush’s grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.”

“The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.”

“His business dealings, which continued until his company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.”

“The evidence has also prompted one former US Nazi war crimes prosecutor to argue that the late senator’s action should have been grounds for prosecution for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.”

My memory on this, and I no longer have citations as to sources, was that she was an Iranian/ azerbaijani born, Turkish nationality, whistle-blower who was working with or for FBI translations, because of her linguistic ability. (after 9/11)
The FBI believe that while many of her translations were correct and proper, she was feeding information to Turkey and not including anti-turkey information that she should have and the FBI terminated her contract.
She had also released whistle-blowing information, which I believe was correct to do (even though that violated her FBI oath/contract)

She claimed she was an innocent victim of whistle-blowing retaliation.

I simply was indicating the REAL TRUTH was not as simple as she relates. If you follow her reports in the media, you are getting one-side of the truth.

I’m not saying her whistleblowing actions were not true or morally wrong.
I am saying, I do not believe her story as she tells it, because I believe she dresses up the story by omission of details. i.e. she misleads by omission.

This is just a start of the list of events with which the last few generations of Bushes have been intimately associated.

My post from the Ullman page:

    On November 22, 2017 at 5:03 am,
    GH says:

    Hi Al,

So back to our agreement on my reading Ullman’s book, and your reading on one George HW Bush.

Honestly, I have never read a book on any Bush. My view of them has been formed by observing them, reading many articles over the past 25 years, and reading books and articles on related themes, like Desert Storm, or the CIA.

But I decided to scan the books available at Amazon, to see what is available.

To cut to the chase, I’m currently reading Webster Tarpley’s ‘George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography’, and would recommend this one to you. Aside from the Bushes, it is a great tour of many of the most significant events of 20th century American history.

    Now, to get more long-winded.

Many consider the Bushes to be a high-level crime family.

Such suspicions can’t be refuted simply by saying ‘Put up or shut up–where’s the evidence?’ When one is talking about the crimes of oligarchs, and ones at the heart of the national security apparatus at that, obviously the justice system will be challenged. How are we to gather evidence, when they can control investigations, threaten or bribe officials at any level, etc.?

But simply by stepping back and getting a clear picture of the Bush family, where they come from, who they associate with, and the activities in which they have engaged, we can get a good idea of the class of people they are.

Yale. Skull and Bones. War profiteering. Financing the Nazis. CIA. JFK. S&L scandal. Iran-Contra affair. The War on Drugs. Desert Storm. The Carlyle Group. 9/11 and the Afghan and Iraq wars. This is just a start of the list of events with which the last few generations of Bushes have been intimately associated.

I suppose we need to define our terms. What is your interest in politics? What is the ‘good’ that is going on in the US now? The ‘problematic’? What are the root causes of the problems?

I think I’ve made my views on the problematic quite clear:

    -The corrupt monetary system
-The military industrial intelligence complex and endless wars of aggression
-The propaganda system (mass media and public education)
    -The surveillance system
-A broken electoral/political system designed to transfer the wealth and power of the masses to a small handful of oligarchs.

Of course, one can come up with endless examples of problems caused by the privileged parasites of our society–the rotten legal system, the murderous pharmaceutical industry, etc. But we need to get to the root of these problems, not focus on all their ramifications.

On the other hand, Al, it’s not at all clear to me what it is that YOU consider to be the root problems facing the USA. If you don’t think the scheming of groups like the Bushes and their cronies get near the heart of the problems in the US, then what does?

Not to put too fine a point on it, but again:

How do you define the problems facing the US, and what do you think is to be done about them?

Finally, a list of books that I think would be of use in understanding the Bushes:

First, a couple more overviews of the family:

    Amazon: Immaculate-Deception-Crime-Family-Exposed/dp/0922356807/
    Amazon: Family-Secrets-Dynasty-Powerful-Influence/dp/1596915579/

Anthony Sutton’s book likely sheds more light on the connections between the Bushes, their cronies, and the Nazis:

    Amazon: Wall-Street-Hitler-Antony-Sutton/dp/0945001533/

These connections extended to bringing many Nazis to the US and putting them to work in the CIA, via Operation Paperclip (it wasn’t just scientists, as many think):

    Amazon: Americas-Nazi-Secret-Insiders-History/dp/1936296047/

As closely as GHW Bush has been associated with the CIA, understanding more about that organization is key to understanding more about him:

    Amazon: Search-Enemies-John-Stockwell/dp/0393057054/
    Amazon: Devils-Chessboard-Dulles-Americas-Government/dp/0062276166/
    Amazon: CIA-Organized-Crime-Illegal-Operations/dp/0997287012/
    Amazon: Mafia-CIA-George-Bush/dp/1561712035/

Given the large amount of evidence linking Skull & Bones and the CIA to drug trafficking, this is another angle that may shed a lot more light on the real GHW Bush:

    Amazon: Barry-Boys-Americas-Secret-History/dp/0970659172/
    Amazon: Dark-Alliance-Tie-Contras-Explosion/dp/1609806212/
    Amazon: Lost-History-Contras-Cocaine-Project/dp/1893517004/
    Amazon: Cocaine-Politics-Central-America-Updated/dp/0520214498/
    Amazon: Whiteout-Drugs-Press-Alexander-Cockburn/dp/1859842585/
    Amazon: Politics-Heroin-Complicity-Global-Trade/dp/1556524838/

It wouldn’t do to leave out the pedophilia / sex trafficking angle:

    Amazon: Franklin-Cover-up-Satanism-Murder-Nebraska/dp/0963215809/

And to wrap it up a more contemporary look at the fruits the Bush Dynasty has borne for America:

    Amazon: Bush-Cheney-Ruined-America-World/dp/1566560616/

Sutton’s book can be found as a free pdf online with a simple search.

Many of these authors have interviews available on Youtube that convey they key ideas of their work in a faster and cheaper format. Loftus, e.g., author of America’s Nazi Secret.

Thanks for stepping up with all the dirt on the Bushes, Excelsior.

Loyalists, whether it’s to the Bushes, the Clintons, or the Obamas — the resulting gridlock is lethal to our well being.

How is it that the Loyalists can see criminality in the one side, but not the other?

I suppose it is unwillingness to challenge conclusions reached long ago based on very incomplete information.

And because group loyalty is much a more powerful human instinct than is objectivity.

And perhaps because of Sagan’s classic:

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

Hi GH. Great Carl Sagan quote, and I’ve seen that one before, but perfectly placed.

Yes, you raised the exact issue I was trying to point out. As far as being critical of policy issues, moral issues, crimes — What is good for the goose (Clinton/Obama), is good for the gander (Regan, Bush Sr, Bush Jr, Trump).

I find it interesting how people can be come loyalists or they get tunnel vision that “their side is right”. Look how many people are upset at Trumps executive orders, that were just fine with Obamas. Look at how many want to lock up Hillary, but refuse to look at the war crimes of both Bushes. It is terrible when Bill Clinton goes after the ladies, but harmless fun if Bush does it. Look at how people are coming after Trump for Russian collusion, but can’t be bothered with the Clinton collusion with Russia. The hypocrisy just wears thin some days.

We see it in politics, religion, sports, etc… Everyone believes their team is flawless and the members wear halos, but then they love to take issue with the smallest infraction on an opposing political/spiritual viewpoint, or team, or club.
