Base Metals, Gold, and Uranium – What Actually Matters

Lobo Tiggre, Founder of The Independent Speculator joins me to share his thoughts on a range of resources. We start with base metals and how the trade war fears are impacting price. China is also considered on the demand front. We then switch to gold and its inability to rebound after the summer drop. Finally a sector that is moving up is uranium but Lobo points out there is still plenty of room to the upside.

So, who’s taking advantage of this weaker gold price?

The Global Central banks – but specifically the Emerging Markets.

Gold has long-term support for higher prices. . .

That’s because Central Banks are now net-buyers (specifically the Emerging Markets). And ‘peak gold’ production is over – mine output continues declining as major gold deposits dry up worldwide.

Due to these two facts; the fundamentals for gold looks exceptionally strong from the increased demand and declining supplies.

As UBS further notes, last year the house price boom in key cities was already losing intensity and scope. Inflation-adjusted prices declined in almost half of the cities analyzed, which prompted UBS to warn that returns of owner-occupied homes in the next few years is questionable.

No offense, Snowy, but this opinion from the Jesuits is just AWFUL.

Why not just say, “The Democrats have succeeded in muddying the waters sufficiently that it would be best to throw in the towel”?

I believe Rs were justified in stonewalling Garlands nomination, as it is an outrage for a country that is 2% Jewish to have 44% representation on the Supreme Court, which it would have been with Garland.

To be clear, the P&F chart for the Dow itself is not confirming the DIA P&F chart.
