Chris Vermeulen, Founder of The Technical Traders shares his thoughts on why this week is important for the US markets, gold, and oil. All of these are near strong support or resistance levels where if a break happens could result in an extended run. We breakdown the scenario for each market and level that are most important.

Maybe this nonsense is beginning to come to an end…

    Germany Sells World’s First 30-Year Negative Yielding Bond… And It’s A Failure

No takers……….like really dumb……..unless you are a drug runner, and need a little laundry mat money…..

Jerry, if our rulers get their way they will outlaw cash, or make it much more difficult to use. Or they will just take all denominations greater than the 20, maybe even the 10 out of circulation and let inflation do it’s magic so that cash will be impractical for anything but small transactions.

That will force people to use debit and credit cards so people will have to have a bank account where they will get a negative interest rate.

This is what our evil rulers and their minions want to steal even more from us.

But what do I know? I am just Negative Ed. (Just ask DT.)

But I say if you’re not negative, you’re not paying attention.

          Aug 21, 2019 21:59 PM

            Aug 21, 2019 21:58 PM

What do you mean? I thought they were BFFs as the kiddos say these days.

            Aug 22, 2019 22:23 AM

Ebo……….I guess it will be discovered later, but, for now it seems they have a spat going on…..

I think the pullback that Stewart Thomson depicts for gold is extremely unlikely:
    https://gracelandupdates.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/2019aug20gold3.png

A pullback of that size will come but will probably originate from a significantly higher level.

We all have our intuitions. Somehow I feel SSRM WILL BID ON SILV. I don’t think SILV will be exploited and run over like a pancake the way golden error caved at a moment of weakness

        Aug 21, 2019 21:47 AM

Agreed Marty. SIL.V Silvercrest will likely get taken over by SSRM at a premium.

(just like they did last time by First Majestic).

The market just didn’t like GRG Golden Arrow’s sale of their 25% stake in 8 more years of production from a very competent operator in SSRM right as metals prices and the margins on their production finally started climbing higher. This was a near-sighted move to pay down debt, rather than the long view that they’d make way more money and pay down the debt over time by holding onto their 255 stake. AS a result Golden Error did get run over by Mr. Market.

It was the same thing that happened when Rye Patch sold off their NSR with Coeur to pay of debt. Also an error and near-sited move that hurt investors.

          Aug 21, 2019 21:48 AM

          25% stake (not 255 stake) 🙂

            Aug 21, 2019 21:34 AM

Collin Kettell responded to an email I sent about Blue Sky Uranium. He had participated in a GARWF OFFERING EARLIER IN the YEAR. Grosso’s Adventurism into Uraguay & Chile caught him in a debt overburden coming due. GROSSO SHOULD step down for either malfeasance/ incompetence. I think garwf left at a minimum $100 million on the table

            Aug 21, 2019 21:42 AM

Terrible management. I won’t touch a Grosso Group company at this point, and is all the reason I need to pick one of the dozens of other Uranium companies besides Blue Sky. I don’t trust those creeps.

            Aug 21, 2019 21:50 AM

Is that the same Grasso….that ran the NY Stock exchange in 1990s…….and got a huge bonus……

            Aug 21, 2019 21:52 AM

            O….maybe not…….. maybe a name change…..Grosso Grasso… 🙂

            Aug 21, 2019 21:30 PM

            That’s even more gross. 😮

        Aug 21, 2019 21:00 AM

That would make for an ideal exit. The monthly rsi(14) is almost 85 and such a deal could easily come in well above the current price. That was the case when SSRM acquired Claude Resources in 2016. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/silver-standard-to-acquire-claude-resources-571248161.html

What a run, 6,000+% in under 4 years.

I wonder if Great Bear is the next 50 bagger

            Aug 21, 2019 21:50 AM

GBR Great Bear has been on an epic run an is the best Gold exploration into development story we’ve seen in the recent cycle.

SIL.V – Silvercrest has also been on an epic run and is hands down the best Silver exploration into development sotry we’ve seen in the recent cycle.

AGB Atlantic Gold was the best development into production story this cycle, and it was already scooped up by Aussie producer St Barbara earlier this year.

There are very few real success stories out of the thousands of mining stocks available, and the solid companies are the ones that get rewarded.

Vancouver gold junior sells for $610m, spins out new explorer
Nelson Bennett – Business in Vancouver | July 9, 2019

They sold off its phosphate business in China, changed the name to Atlantic Gold and acquired and consolidated four gold properties in Nova Scotia. In less than five years, Atlantic Gold had built its first mine.

“We got it financed when there was no finance around, and that’s where Ryan Beedie’s partnership was integral to it,” Dean said.

With a 27.5% share in the company, Beedie is a major shareholder in Atlantic. While he had dabbled in junior mining companies before, Atlantic Gold was his first real foray into the mining business as a major shareholder.

He not only liked the idea of a low-cost mine being built in Canada, in a region that needs the jobs, but also has personally known Dean for 20 years and therefore knew his track record for getting mines built.

“I liked the Nova Scotia angle,” Beedie said. “I said, ‘That’s great – you’re investing in Canada.’ I love the whole model – low cost, the way he de-risked it.”

            From the article above ^^

“It wasn’t recognized, until recently, that those veins are surrounded by a halo of lower-grade mineralization, which is very economic, and that’s what’s being recognized in today’s gold rush, if you like, back to Nova Scotia.”

Dean took what Rule calls a typically “Australian” approach to the Atlantic Gold project.

“Rather than try and find a 2 million ounce deposit, he found a district that had numerous 300,000 or 400,000 ounce deposits, where, he believed, if you built a central processing facility, over time you could consolidate the district,” Rule said. “And he did it. He did precisely that.

“He found a district that had fractured ownership, where nobody had the capital or the assets, frankly, to build the processing facility, acquired two of the assets, built the processing facility on time, on budget, and then began the process of consolidating the district.”

“Other companies, including Vancouver’s Osprey Gold Development (TSX-V:OS), are now looking to develop gold deposits in Nova Scotia.”

            Aug 21, 2019 21:55 AM

Interesting to note they mentioend Osprey Gold there at the end….. I recently took a punt on them as they’ve raised money and engaging in their 2019 exploration program.

With a tiny market cap of 2.4 Million and only 47 Million shares out, (OS) could really move on any exploration success, especially being near the Atlantic Gold win.

            Aug 21, 2019 21:58 AM

GBR is already well over a 50 bagger if measured from the 2016 low.

            Aug 21, 2019 21:09 PM

Rob McEwen is pretty heavily invested in GBR with a 14% stake, so maybe he’ll encourage MUX to take a swing at GBR. That would not hurt my feelings as MUX shareholder. 🙂

            Aug 21, 2019 21:18 PM

I’m invested in Pure Gold again, and they are sandwiched right between Great Bear and Goldcorp in the prime realestate. I also have stock in Golden Valley that owns 1/2 of Abitibi Royalties with properties peppered around the same group of deposits and mines in Red Lake.

This whole areaplay and the remaining development stage properties like GBR, PGM, RZZ/GZZ will get nabbed eventually. I wonder if Yamana with their tiny exposure may consider expanding and taking over one of those companies?

    > Interesting. Finally a win for $POM $PLM against all the environmental lobbyist pushback. This may finally unshackle this company to move towards construction and production after over a decade of stalls and further studies.
