Welcome!

Oil price in the dumps, will central banks/governments step up to save the companies?

Cory
April 21, 2020

Ed Moya kicks off today with a look at oil’s price crash and how it could impact other areas of the market and economy.

We first look at the impacts to the US markets balanced with the potential of governments stepping in to help the shale companies. The fall in oil prices also plays into the deflationary argument for right now.

The prices artificially maintained by OPEC has led to overproduction, which became more dangerous as time went on. The bigger problem is how do you explain this to The Arab countries that have lived off all of these artificial prices for many years. You can’t, the system must crash, and they must feel the reckoning, then The Oil Cartel can be abolished.

    Was Trump asleep ?
Our strategic oil reserve should have been FILLED and we would have been PAID to fill it up at negative prices.

      Fake news.
Get facts straight he ask Congress for money to fill oil reserves and they didn’t ok the money. Call Polosi and Schumer.

      Gates will not be safe……
It appears tensions are soaring among anti-quarantine protesters and state governments. The lockdown backlash started last Thursday in Lansing, Michigan.

Anti-quarantine rallies sprouted up across the country over the weekend, organized by right-wing groups that held rallies in Texas, Indiana, New Hampshire, Nevada, Maryland, Utah, Wisconsin, Washington, and Colorado.

Attempting to show force, some protesters wielded rifles, handguns, and shotguns, along with American flags, Betsy Ross flags, Trump signs and “Don’t Tread On Me” flags right up to the doorsteps of some state capital buildings.

I own LOLMF, NSRPF and IRVRF. I have had better luck with GTBDF, SILV and KL. Holding all except KL which I sold and made good profit.

    Stewart Thomson has it right:
“America would not have an economic crisis today if the government had a savings mentality instead of a debt mentality. The government never saved for a rainy day, let alone for a crisis, and it never encouraged citizens to save. Given that America has been the world’s lead empire for about a hundred years, that’s totally outrageous.”

It’s that simple and the debt problem is no accident.

Would have also helped if the US had regulatory policies also, instead of allowing transfer of wealth.

        Apr 21, 2020 21:21 PM

Nothing transfers wealth like debt (deficit spending and debt-based fake money created out of nothing). Direct taxation is honest by comparison because even people like Chartster can understand it.

          Apr 21, 2020 21:12 PM

Good point about debt. Keeps the feudal system alive and well. Have to pass on Chartster as haven’t kept up with that one.

            Apr 21, 2020 21:52 PM

Debt also keeps the feudal system growing. The government grows in size and power by hogging resources and creating a dependent population.
The solution is not more of the same actions that got us here. Instead, the masses should be demanding that the powerful few at the top stop receiving special treatment. No more bailouts of any kind should be allowed for any entity and the rule of law should be applied equally to all. Yes, that’s beyond a pipe-dream at this point but it is what’s required. Nothing brings sustainable prosperity like individual economic freedom and a level playing field but the majority of people want “solutions” that would cause more harm than good.

Anybody know anything about MacDonald Mines, MCDMF. The drill results attracted me. About 200 Million shs out and 11% ownership by Sprott. It would probably be easier to find something Sprott doesn’t own.
