Gold was smacked down on August 1 last year, the day after a two-day Fed meeting ended and it was up and away from there. The conditions (technical and otherwise) are perfect for the same action this time though I doubt that gold will finish lower tomorrow.

I don’t have the stats to prove it but I have noticed over the years that it is generally better if gold does not take off in the minutes immediately following a Fed decision since a downturn often follows when it does.

Always guys thans for all contributing members! EX.. liked you post about value of miners to precious metals prices. I feel like that is being overlooked by people. More people are concerned about price movements and not relative value to price of underlining metal. Catch up could be quick… as we know the market size of metals is tiny.

Yes, I believe that when the Q3 numbers come out and show just how profitable things were for the producers at these levels, that we’ll also see a re-rating in the projects that the developers hold, using valuations based on metals prices closer to where we have been the last few months. This should also recalibrate the expectations from analysts following the sector moving forward.
By late October – early November when those operations reports hit, it should raise a few eyebrows. Cheers!
