Al discusses the conventional stock market. Specifically Boeing, U.S. Steel and a coal company. Is he just a one trick wonder or can he discuss all markets? Listen and see what you think
As the anti-gold crowd says: You cant eat gold!
Can’t eat coal either.
Big Al
Good job, Al, but very odd they didn’t seem to be aware of your expertise in resource markets and were not asking questions about your specialty. The fact that something was missing became conspicuous when they asked if you owned any of the stocks mentioned, and you said “no.” The curious investor in the conventional markets might then think: “Okay… this Korelin guy seems bright, but he is avoiding these large cap stocks… he must know something that I don’t… Maybe I need to listen to someone else besides my Raymond James broker…”
Thanks Dirk,
I am not sure why they asked me to comment on these companies, but it is what it is.
My brief research reemphasized to me the importance and wisdom of being involved in the hard asset sector in this current environment.
Have a great weekend,
Big Al
wow why are some oil producers barely responding to the increase in earnings which must be comming next quarter ??? i got zapped by evo moreles in bolivia as i have owned Pan am silver PAAS for 5 years and saw most of my profit slip away . waiting for a may 1 announcemant by Bolivian gov. at least managers have built other silver mines outside Boliva.
Greg Johnson, President of South American Silver, is a friend. He is not concerned about Bolivia at this point. I will bring this question up to him again and see if he still feels the same way.
The volatility of the oil markets scare me right now and so I am concentrating on metals.
Have a great weekend,
Big Al
I guess CBS just suggested some companies for off-the-cuff comments…you know, just in case that Al guy couldn’t carry a conversation on the radio…. ; }
I agree with the comment from Dirk B. In the short segment they had, I guess they didn’t want to get into international economics. But Arch Coal?? Good grief.

Yeah John, that was kind of my response.
Chris did say that the companies were specifically requested by their listeners.
Best,
Big Al

I do see a lot more people with Apple prctdous in my local Star *oops I burnt your coffee again, sir* bucks but I’m not sure that the comment is worth the weight that all the letters printed on paper would add up to I’d suggest that people that buy Apple computers are all sorts but mainly those influenced by good advertising on a good product, or those that are after a specific type of computer / device. Why do I want an iPhone 4? Better camera, faster, nice screen, plays music, web is good, loads of apps, half decent support why wouldn’t I? a3599.00 (I’m not a plan type of guy) I’d suggest that the comment was left by a. a spammer or b. someone that’s not used an Apple product anyway, who gives two hoots nikon, canon, windows, mac hmmph mmm canon lol
Morning Naomi,
Boy you are referring to an old interview!
As a point, I have absolutely no problem with anything Apple. I currently use a Dell, but you have to keep in mind that my son in law Kyle
works for Microsoft.
Consequently we have all switched to Dells or Toshiba computers.
Best and thank you for the comment,
Big Al
