Hi Matt,
I will look into this on Tuesday with a report on the Daily Show.
Big Al
i was not brave enough to trade today. if gold stocks dive again tommoro i will look at a few producing gold miners . I was tempted tobuy Goldcorp GG to day but i did not. also looking about PALL or other paldium plays . good luck S
I was also tempted Scott, but the technicals are telling me we might see a bit more of a drop on gold and on miners. The world in general still thinks of these assets as being speculative or temporary. I just cannot believe the price of Nova Gold, Extorre/Exeter, or Goldcorp, etc. It’s ridiculous. I think we are near floors on these kinds of stock, though, but I personally don’t want to get to obsessed to buy at the exact bottom. They are close to great buy points, which I personally would like to take when the stock prices intersect with the 50 day MA and perhaps the middle or lower bollinger bands, if you follow that sort of thing.
Hi John,
I am going to announce tomorrow that I am going to buy some shares of Otis Gold.
I really like Idaho centered companies and the more I get to know the management of Otis the better I like the company. To my way of thinking there is no way this company will continue to trade at the $0.34 level.
We’ll see but that is what I am going to do.
Big Al
It’s always interesting when you (and Roger) have made a visit to Idaho. There seem to be lots of interesting projects going on there that I hadn’t been aware of. Thanks for the ‘discovery’.
Hi Scott,
I am not particularly concerned for myself regarding buying gold stocks. I believe that the inevitable will happen shortly and the prices will surge upwards. With fundamentals like we have today, that action just seems logical.

Big Al
If a remembrance of 911 brings about individual introspection of what it cost to have liberty and what it takes to maintain it, then it is fine. All too often, it is superificial flag-waving at a football game. I appreciate Al’s questioning of our foreign policy and our current wars. To have a strong belief system in government, religion, family or work, the hard questions begged to be asked.
Hi Bill,
I am not convinced that the positive sentiments voiced in editorials like that written by Peggy Noonan was just superficial flag waving. I believe that she and people like her truly feel that way.
I know that I do.
If it were up to be, I think that I would have handled the response to the perpetrators quite a bit differently.
Big Al
Is that really all there is to it because that’d be flbabregastnig.
All i can say is the ‘peace’ in Northern Ireland was not easy for either side, both sides suffered both sides had a point, but despite the odd problem it is a 1,000 times better now than it was before, I just want these pointless wars to stop, it’s simply insane, and the US and UK should get out af these conflict zones as soon as possible, and just look after therir own shores, IMHO
Hey Nigel,
I could not have said it better myself.
What do you do with a rapid weasel?
Big Al
Big Al:
My Problem with compromise is that the Right compromises 75%, and the Left compromises 25%. The result is the country is becoming more and more PROGRESSIVE. The Progressive are winning.
Dr. Dutch
HI Dr. Dutch,
You really think so? I don’t know, I really see it the other way around. At this point, I don’t think that the progressives are winning. I think that they are in real trouble. Watch the overall results in 2012.

@matt r. dont know about that potash company but the same thing has been said about silvercorp anonymosly.stock down big time, im wondering if this isnt another form of manipulation happening. i think these markets are entirly crooked. maybe if dividends were big enough people wouldnt care so much about manipulations and not sell them so fast. as far as the wars go i figure they will continue as there is huge profit in them. governments dont care about their people and people dont care about their government. that why we have leaders admitting to useing and promoting torture. (bush admitted cheney promotes). eventually enough people will realise something just isnt right. tortures as leaders ……crooked markets constitution trashed. what else can we expect?
I HATE TO BE NEGATIVE,BUT OUR FORM OF GOVERNMENT IS ONLY FOR A MORAL AND RELIGIOUS PEOPLE QUOTING JOHN ADAMS. WE ARE NO LONGER MORAL OR RELIGIOUS. WE HAVE TURNED OUR BACK ON GOD. NOW HE HAS TAKEN THE PROTECTIVE HEDGE AWAY. EVERYTHING ALL OVER THE WORLD IS GOING WRONG. WE ARE HEADED FOR THE TRIBULTION PERIOD. JESUS CHRIST FIRST WORDS WHEN A STARTED HIS MINISTRY WAS “REPENT” CALL UPON HIS NAME TODAY BEFORE IT IS TO LATE. I’AM HOLDING ON TO MY SILVER AND GOLD STOCKS FOR NOW.
PS. READ THE BOOK OF JOHN TODAY!!
THANKS TO ROG AND AL FOR THIS WEB SITE I READ IT EVERYDAY.
HI Denis,
I agree completely that, for the most part, we are no longer a moral or religious people. Too bad!
I am convinced that is the problem with America today. It can change and I hope and pray that it well, but I have some serious concerns.
Big Al
This free sharing of ionfrmaotin seems too good to be true. Like communism.
It is very difficult to feel that the retribution the US has extracted from our enemies has any true fulfillment and satisfaction.
The politcal corect crowd will not let us dwell on our success, only when their is percieved failure can we enjoy victory.
HI Larry,
Please explain to me what you mean by the statement that the political correct crowd will not let us dwell on our success only when their is perceived failure can we enjoy victory.
Thanks,
Big Al
Al, I always appreciate you, so forgive me for taking a position of disagreement with you on this issue of compromise. I hope I did not misunderstand you.
Here’s my take on “Compromise”. If two parties are trying to work out a mutually satisfactory solution to a family, church, business, or social problem, and both are of a reasonable disposition, displaying amicable good will, then “compromise” is a necessary ingredient to coming to an outcome that both sides can live with.
However, if two parties are at “loggerheads” and one party is reasonable and the other is not, and the party that is not reasonable also wants to conquer your land, and make you subservient to his religion, then “compromise” on the part of the reasonable and agreeable person, will be viewed by the other party as weakness, and the outcome will be that the one compromising, gives ground to the one desiring his head. You only succeed in allowing him to gain more favorable ground, more sure footing, and a more desirable position from which to swing his sword for your neck. This old adage is absolutely true in this case, “If you let the camel get his nose under the tent, he will shortly be all the way inside”. You cannot compromise with evil! You cannot compromise with someone who wants to rule you and conquer you for Allah. By the way, Islam does not mean “peace”. That’s what the media and gov’t elites tell us it means, but it really means “submission” to the will of Allah. What they don’t tell you is, that you only have peace when you are submitted to Islam. If you do not convert to Islam, in a country where Sharia is the law, you just might get the swift slice across the neck and your head rolls. Sharia is completely incompatible with our Judeo-Christian faith and system of government. It has no place in America and we must fight to keep it out, because the Muslims are working steadily to get it in here. They do not want to get along and coexist. They want to conquer America for Allah. They want Sharia to rule this land. But they have to use stealth and ruse to accomplish it. At this time, because they have no visible power just yet, they are displaying the “sheep” face, but when they succeed in gaining control of a nation, the sheep skins come off and the real wolf is shown for what he truely is. We are under attack, but it is so sublte and concealed that few realize what’s going on. Compromise with Islam will only mean that we get the sword sooner. Just my humble opinion, but I am well versed on Islam. Have studied and read much on the subject. Have talked with real, former, Muslims who have converted and come to faith in Christ. Could say alot more on this subject, but that’ll be all for now. Best to you.
Good Morning Mr. C,
After spending a great day up in Vancouver yesterday with the folks from Otis Gold, I am back in the studio.
I agree completely with you comment.
When I was talking about compromise I was referring to the political situation in this country and not to the situation with the terrorists.
This group of people have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that compromise with them is impossible. The events of 9-11 are only one example of many of their intent.
Sorry if I did not make myself clearer.
Best,
Big All
Hi Al,
This depends upon what areas of compromise that you mean. Are you speaking in terms of compromising with the islamo-fascists that have been attacking Americans since before Thomas Jefferson days? I believe Clinton compromised in that way when the Twin Towers were bombed in 1993, the bombing of the Riyadh military compound in 1995 that killed US government employees, the bombing of the Khobar towers in 1996, the islamic terrorist suicide bombing of the USS Cole that killed our sailors, the list goes on. Our forefathers compromised with Islamists as early as the founding of our country. That form of compromise was in the way of the Jizya Tax. Thomas Jefferson didn’t like paying that tax every time we sailed the Mediterranean. So the marines where sent in. Know the fighting hymn of the US Marines?—> “From the halls of Montezume to the Shores of Tripoli”
Islamo-fascism has been attacking us for centuries.
Or are you speaking in terms of compromise and pull out of these nations? Our embassies there, our military personnel, our equipment. Let them fight amongst themselves. Not caring if they obtain a nuclear bomb and detonate it somewhere.
We live in a nuclear age. We live in an age where there are real evil lunatics that will no doubt ignite a nuclear bomb off in any American city if they are given the chance. I for one do not want to “compromise” with anyone that has that capability to do so.
Regards,
Lynn
Hi Lynn,
I obviously did not make myself clear so I will do a Daily Editorial on this subject today.
Best,
Big Al
I believe it is compromise that created this mess we are in!
What do we do when one side says “let’s increase our debt by $4 trillion,” and the other side says “no let’s cut the growth rate of the spending and only increase the debt by $2 trillion?” Is the good compromise to split the difference and only increase our debt by $3 trillion? The Republicans are very nearly just as bad as the Democrats.
Or how about the frequently used speeding towards the cliff analogy. Speeding towards the cliff 50 yards away at 85 mph, and one side says let’s speed up to 100 mph, and the other side says no, let’s slow down to 70 mph. What is the acceptable compromise? No Compromise!! We must slam on the brakes and put the car in reverse to survive!!
Please, please do not compromise my children’s and my grandchildren’s future! Unfortunately, I believe we no longer have the national character that will accept the sacrifice and required economic medicine that will turn this country around. It seems likely that we are already past the point of no return with so much debt that it will NEVER be repaid (accept by hyper inflated dollars). Only a very serious economic and monetary crisis will allow us to get back on the right track – and there will be a lot of pain and suffering involved.
Hi Chris,
I know that DRASTIC measures need to be taken in our country. I have been saying that for a long time.
What I mean by “compromise” is that we have to start somewhere. That start will never be accomplished if the two sides don’t agree and start working together. All this crap about I am right and you are wrong will lead to nowhere. Things will simply get worse and worse.
Of course basic changes must be made! My point is that the race cannot be won unless we all get to the starting line.
I appreciate your clarification,
Big Al
on compromise, let’s use an “easy” topic: Social Security and Medicare.
We are BK and do not understand it. And the people want more. Not less. Thats pretty much fact.
Now, we have a problem and what are we going to do about it?
One side (lets say liberals) says we are not going to take entitlements away (but does it covertly thru a new health bill and a new definition of inflation–it would be nice to have honest politicians but we know that is an oxymoron. The other side (lets say conservatives) say we have to cut, A faction of say the conservatives says we have to cut deeply.
nothing gets done because compromise does not fit into their books and honestly maybe it should not.
Most of our country does not understand the situation. We are more broke than Solyndra. One day we stop–there wil be no money
Take the new jobs bill–one aspect will reduce tax free benefits of muni bonds.
did anyone stop to think that will cause muni offering interest to increase and the stats can hardly afford that-especially after the push down of medicaid costs to the states.
Yet since more than 1/2 the population wants more freebies and wants the rich to support them–we will continue to head down this path till all the taxpayers leave the country. Its basically a FUBAR situation. Its irreversible until we really do go BK.
The social issues will come. the clash between the have and have nots. Its all about personal responsibility as Ron Paul mentioned last evening and nobody-now lower income, meddle income or higher income want to bust their you know whats anymore–everybody wants something and we have been riled up by the media.
end of rant.
Big Al,
Big Al,
Amen…..Amen…..enough said.
Al, What’s going on with Passpoft Potash? The stock took a tumble down on news about inaccurate information being reported.
