Tavi Costa – A Focus On The Resource and PM Sectors, What Does A Bottom Look Like and What Finally Will Draw Money Into Resources and PMs?

Cory
October 18, 2022

We are very happy to be joined today by Tavi Costa, Portfolio Manager at Crescat Capital. Since this is Tavi’s first time on the show we start by discussing his background in financial markets and what turned his attention to the resource sector back in 2018. We then move to general market comments focused on the continued downtrend in markets and metals. The main topics focus on what will truly mark a bottom for metals and what the main investment narrative for metals is.

Tavi seems to have done his homework……………..financial repression is not something that is talked about enough as it is the only tool available other than outright deflationary spiral that takes down the debt and the economy with it, in total carnage. Inflating away the debt in the developed world, robbing savers of purchasing power, if done slowly, can allow the government Psychopaths to continue their binge spending and slowly get the overall debt to Nominal GDP ratio back in line. This is only my personal opinion, but everyone still thinks………..this mantra from Yellen and Powell et al……….that they are so worried about inflation………..is just smoke and mirrors……..while you stand there like a deer in the headlights and they pick your pockets with inflation…………..

When the world wakes up, and realizes that they have been had and Powell’s sheepskin is removed, we have inflation at 4 to 5 % till the cows come home…..and FED is loses it’s credibility……..I think the PM market just might turn on the jets again………………like Tavi said it’s all about timing……………..so here we sit waiting for the AHAAA! moment

Thanks guys for brining on Tavi Costa and promising to bring him back. Crescat Capital is very relevant in today’s very difficult metals investment markets. They are actively investing in many of the stocks that many of us follow, as well as, actively covering those that many of us have never heard of before. Coupled with QH, who many of us have also followed over the years, they are a welcome addition to the show and have a lot to offer.
I am currently following their interest in Tectonic and should they return to the Show near term, would like to hear their current impressions. Good job al 3 of you!

Lakedweller2 – Noted on Tectonic. We have a long list of companies to ask Quinton about when he comes on (Crescat has about 90 in their portfolio now), and we can only get him to comment on a handful of them. I had to plead to Cory just to get the one done recently for Lion One with QH.

Tavi – a Prince of a guy, much like memorable Lyn Alden. When they speak, like the old EF Hutton logo- People listen.

Yep, Lyn Alden is very sharp, and I’m considering reaching out to her to see if she’d be interested in coming on the show as well.

Tavi is savvy, I think what is happening in Ukraine proves that you must have an economy based on real things, like industry and natural resources, and honest money. If you don’t people believe that showy affluence matters more than debt. Nothing could be further from the truth. DT

Thanks guys for the constructive comments on Tavi.

Cory & I were excited to bring him on the show, and we’ll be getting him back on in a few weeks to dig in a bit deeper to the junior mining stocks.

Brixton (which Tavi/Crescat owns) has now pulled back 23% since rising 63% in September. As usual, down volume is bullishly very light relative to up volume…
