Mike Larson – Making Sense of AI, Gold & Silver, Crypto & Bonds

Cory
November 19, 2025

In this KE Report Daily Editorial, we speak with Mike Larson, Editor-in-Chief at MoneyShow, about what generalist investors are focused on heading into 2026, the themes shaping the upcoming Sarasota Masters Symposium (Dec 1–3), and the setup for the MoneyShow Las Vegas event in February.

Key Discussion Highlights:

  • Year-End Positioning: Investors reassessing portfolios after a strong but volatile 2025.

  • AI: Boom vs. Bubble: Massive real-world investment (data centers, power, capex); still early – not a 1999 moment.

  • Fed & Missing Data: The prolonged shutdown and lack of October jobs report add uncertainty; may delay rate cuts.

  • Gold & Silver Consolidation: After a major run, metals are digesting gains; long-term drivers remain intact.

  • Crypto & Bitcoin Weakness: BTC tied closely to tech sentiment; leveraged washouts still impacting the sector.

  • Alternative Assets Trend: The 60/20/20 allocation shift continues – alts like gold and crypto retain structural demand.

  • Bond Market Watchpoints: AI capex spilling into corporate credit; some widening spreads, but not crisis-level.

Hey DT……Just can’t see HG getting another upleg going without some news …..perhaps the anticipation of news heading into thanksgiving but really no news has it in a range

Hi Wolfster, I agree with you, if you watched the video I posted with Jay Taylor and Doug Casey yesterday that was my take also. Jay Taylor is very close to Kerry Landis who sits on HydroGraph’s board and it seems that from Jay’s comments we won’t see a flurry of news until the new year. The price may stall out here and move down. I am looking for a correction to buy some more. I sold some shares yesterday to use for just that occasion. I think your instincts are correct.

Longer term I am very committed! DT

I would like to see HL bounce around for a week or two more before testing the 50 day EMA, and we may yet get that. But it could just as easily drop down to test that MA within the next few trading days.

If I had cash, I would buy more on that tag of the 50 day EMA (the 50 day EMA is currently $12.55 and rising). I would not rule out a dip as low as the 75 day EMA (which is $11.59 today and rising), but I have my doubts that the recent low at $11.81 is going to get tested this soon. In any event, HL anywhere in the $12s is a solid purchase and if you can get it anywhere near its recent low of $11.81, even better. (I do think there is a decent chance the $11.81 low will at least be marginally taken out a few months from now, but I am much less confident about that prediction. And if such a break occurs I expect it to be marginal (within 50 cents and very quick).)

The intraday swings in gold and silver have been absolutely crazy if I do say so myself.

I do think this is going to calm down substantially in a month or so.

silver is still in backwardation. It may have slipped out of that intraday at some point over the last few weeks (not sure) but I have been checking fairly regularly and it’s been over a month like this, I believe. This has to be a record.

Here is a thought for you Spanky. I watched an old re-run of “The I love Lucy” program, and Lucy was bad so Ricky put her over his lap and spanked her at the end of the show. That was perfectly accepted by society in the late 1950’s but now it has been banned. Maybe you could tell me why that is after all your handle is “spanky”. LOL! DT 😊😍🤣

It is an homage to spanky from the Little Rascals.
