I brought the potential for the ostrich murders to this forum over two weeks ago and wrote an email in protest, but to no avail.
Unfortunately, the ostrich owners had signed an agreement at some time giving power to the Canadian authorities in regard to bird flu infection …….
(I do not know if this was in exchange for some farm subsidy or what exactly.)
Apparently this allowed the “preventative” slaughter.
(It appears the farm will receive some compensation, but I don’t know how much.)
It clearly ruins their operation, and what bird flu strain remains in the surrounding wild life population presumably kills the chance of starting ostrich farming for a while ……killing their potential use of knowledge and experience.
