Volcanic Gold Drills 4.58m at 79.84 g/t Au and 5,053 g/t Ag On The La Pena Vein

Simon Ridgeway, President and CEO of Volcanic Gold (TSX.V:VG – OTC:VLMZF), joins us to review the exploration news from October 19th highlighting high-grade gold & silver drill intercepts from the southern extension of the La Peña vein on the Holly Project, in Guatemala.  The headline figures from hole HDD-21-023 returned 4.58 meters at 79.84 g/t gold and 5,053 g/t silver, which got the markets attention.

Simon discussed how this hole fits in context with the prior drill holes returned from the Holly Project thus far and mentioned there are still 5 holes awaiting assays from 2 different targets. We wrap up discussing the drill rig will be staying at Holly to continue drilling once the other assays are returned, and then the 2nd rig that comes in will be placed at Banderas Project, to target 7-8 holes .

Please email us with any follow up questions for Simon on Volcanic Gold at either fleck@kereport.com or shad@kereport.com.

I’m not sure what was more interesting in that headline number the 4.58 meters of 79.84 g/t gold or the 5,053 g/t silver in that same intercept. Both of those are bonanza grade returns in their own right from that hole # 23, so congratulation to Simon and his exploration team. It will be interesting to see how those other 3 holes #26-#28 that he discussed, that are near that same structure and drilled a bit deeper come back in the near term.

As he mentioned, the nearby Escobal project that Pan American Silver holds could be an appropriate analog to what they are finding at Holly. It was also nice to hear that he doesn’t want to take much of a break on drilling (other than to wait for the remaining assays results to come back), and then will keep the drill rig turning to keep working towards an initial resource estimate.

My understanding is SR’s last company (phosphate) went belly up, at least for the common shareholders. Don’t understand chasing a Guatemala Jr. explorer when you can invest in same drilling results in Can, US, Mexico and other safer mining locations in SA, at cheap valuations currently. Escobal is still on care and maintenance by Pan Am due to Govt mandated stoppage years ago now, despite world class ESG efforts by PAAS mgmt. Guatemala is an absolute crap shoot.

I think you are correct………… on the crap shoot….

He founded Fortuna – the man did fairly well 🙂

Bingo Aaron! I’d say founding Fortuna worked out nicely for Simon. 😉

In addition, Simon’s exploration team discovered Cerro Blanco (that Bluestone now holds in Guatemala) and the initial discovery at Escobal (that Pan American Silver now holds nearby in Guatemala). This gives me confidence that this team knows this jurisdiction well, and they just proved it again every since they started drilling this project over the last few months. It appears to be very well-endowed just like the 2 nearby deposits now controlled by the big boys.

I’m not in very many really early stage grass-roots type of speculations, but I was willing to grab a position in Volcanic Gold strictly because of the pedigree of the exploration team in Guatemala and Simon’s knowledge of this area. He’s been sitting on these projects for a long time, and had them stored in Radius Gold for years, until the political winds shifted more favorably, and more importantly, the precious metals markets improved from where they were in the last bear market.

So far that has been a very wise decision as I’m up quite nicely in this stock and it has just recently outperformed most of my Canadian, US, and Mexican based mining stocks. Obviously that is because the proof is now in the pudding… they made a fantastic discovery at Holly.

Been adding to Volcanic. Hoping for more Bonanza grades in the future. I had Bluestone but rolled it and profits, so looking for one in the same area to follow the Bluestone example price wise. Thanks for all the updates.
