Lots of chromite in S.Africa but not enough electricity to process it.

The Chinese will probably build a nuclear power plant to process it. DT

IPT gained 26% for the week and is now 40% off its low…

And IPT looks good (not quite great yet) versus SILJ:

When IPT was still above 30¢ on it’s way down, I entered stink bid at 23¢ as I could see there are plenty opportunities for 70% gain. But being the world’s worst trader, I cancelled the order, thinking WPM is more suitable for longer term holding. WPM will be my silver play if I ever buy individual PM stock again. For now I stay with my default nat. resource ETF NANR.

Without a doubt, all of the best traders around have felt like the world’s worst trader at times. None of us are alone in our screw ups or in your case perceived screw up! WPM IS more suitable for long term holding.
WPM is among the lowest risk plays in the sector along with FNV so it’s no surprise that it smoked IPT during the correction since 2020. It even beat the heck out of GDX which fell by close to 60% against WPM since the highs of ’16 and ’17 and more than 50% since the ’18 high.
          https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=GDX%3AWPM.TO&p=W&yr=7&mn=11&dy=0&id=p59633054456

During bull moves however, GDX will easily beat WPM and IPT will (should) easily beat GDX.
In 2016 IPT went up 5-fold vs WPM and in 2020 it went up 3.5 fold vs WPM and the odds now look good for an even greater outperformance during this bull run.

Gold looks good but everything else in the gold space looks better and that’s what we want.

I added a few to Brixton Friday as QH still positive on BBB and him saying Crescat’s position is 20%.

      Jul 15, 2023 15:55 PM

I didn’t realize Crescat’s position was that high. $159B BHP owns 19.9%. When a company that size shows interest it’s a testament to the size potential of Brixton’s copper discovery. NEM, the largest gold company in the world is just $36B.

        Jul 15, 2023 15:51 PM

QH mentioned BHP at 20% also. I also didn’t know about Crescat and that was a second institutional endorsement…thus the Add.

          Jul 15, 2023 15:20 PM

#s seem strange. I need to go back and listen to Crescat youtube #128 Friday.

            Jul 15, 2023 15:03 PM

Yep… QH said “ near 20%” for Crescat.

    Jul 15, 2023 15:36 PM

Doc, You think silver will go to $20 per ounce at some point, but what level do you think gold may dip to prior to its rise?

      Jul 15, 2023 15:23 PM

We could see the 1800’s again. Regardless, I’m now a long term buyer. I love the gold and silver charts. The fact that there has not been a large % sell off like 2011/2012 and the chart pattern of the monthly chart ; it talks to the underlying strength to this market. It’s only a matter of time now before we see long term moves to the upside. It may have already started for a few of the PM stocks which you now may see higher lows when they move down. There is so much negativity now and volumes are lousy. Now is the time to get serious with some of these stocks. People are mentioning Impact Silver. I bought a boat load of that stock a couple of weeks ago for $.18. It should trade for awhile in a monthly channel that is narrowing. I love good companies when they do that. It’s then a matter of patience. Just think of how Rick Rule mentioned over a year ago about positions he took and how he will wait for the future move on stocks—and he probably purchased at higher levels while these stocks have gotten even cheaper since that time.

        Thanks, Doc

    Jul 15, 2023 15:13 PM

The building theme is “maybe next year”. Been there – done that. I think we need to watch the Brics and the new currency. The Western World has “derivative and lied” themselves into a massive hole of corruption. Greed is a huge Gorilla in the room that few of our leaders can face. I hate mental illness not being addressed. We are being set up as bag holders. We very well may be as we can’t influence markets or computers, much less false narratives. It may give them comfort that they scammed us … but some things are sacred. All of us may go down with the ship, but they will sink to the bottom while some of us will pop to the surface to start anew. Maybe next year.

    Jul 15, 2023 15:29 PM

What a great week for the metals. Looks like we might need a few days of consolidation but hopefully a higher high to end next week. Thanks for the show KER.

Early last November I said that it was 2018 again but better and that has proven to be the case so far. Of course Joe and friends said SELL SELL SELL at that low and every low since. The wall of worry has been strong and remains so.
    https://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=%24GOLD&p=W&yr=7&mn=3&dy=0&id=p56531142689&a=1284031045

Joe isn’t the only one who might benefit from this reminder about the relationship between rising interest rates and gold. Here we have gold and the Fed Funds Rate from 1976 to 1980:

      Jul 16, 2023 16:52 PM

Well that did not work at all. I guess stockcharts won’t let us share charts from before about 1980.

        Jul 17, 2023 17:19 AM

Thanks for the attempt. I appreciate all your posts, but I’m not here for several days during the week

          Jul 17, 2023 17:11 PM

Thanks Marty. I’m sure many here would know how to post that chart regardless of stockcharts wishes but my computer skills are minimal.

While the surfs are trying to play by Democratic Constitutional Rules, the politicians and corporations are draining the US Treasury. Different Agendas cause different performance goals.

I always did like Perry Como.

        Jul 17, 2023 17:23 AM

Ironically the lyrics to that song were written by Mike Love, though uncredited. He was a cousin and vocalist of other Beach boys. He also was a friend of Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and at times, Donald Trump.

He also claims not to have gotten into drugs, as other Beach Boys did.

Same take down again. Still stealing and no other agenda apparent.

      Jul 17, 2023 17:21 PM

Todays algos almost locked from open. Probably take it down farther into close. It has been a “late in day” movement pattern for a couple of months in my stocks and brokers. Not sure, but very possible brokerage firms may be making some markets. End of Day adjustment of my accounts with foreign primary currencies gapping larger. OTC diverging daily trading more so from Cad over time.

        Jul 17, 2023 17:00 PM

Impact: you have to check multiple sources rather than trusting the Bid/Ask price in your brokerage firm system.

          Jul 17, 2023 17:13 PM

Stick with TSX-V info not US OTC Pink Sheets.

            Jul 17, 2023 17:10 PM

I think you are right. I use Toronto to Bid. May not get a buy or sell but it seems like not only does the Bid/Ask change upon making either in an individual account, but if you have time … the OTC prices may adjust to Toronto more in real time. Which goes to say the OTC (Schwab front runs The OTC, so not sure who is the sleaze) may be gaming price constantly which in the old days (this century) was illegal. A new brokerage firm could get a lot of customers if they claimed to have a fiduciary responsibility to their clients instead of milking them.

            Lake:

Impact is listed on the TSX-V which stands for Vancouver Exchange not Toronto. DT

            Jul 17, 2023 17:47 PM

DT, the Vancouver exchange close in the 1990s. TSX-V translates to Toronto Stock Exchange – Venture.

            Jul 17, 2023 17:28 PM

            Hi Matthew:

What is The TSX Venture Exchange?

The TSX Venture Exchange is a stock exchange in Calgary Alberta. It resulted from a merger between the Vancouver and Alberta stock exchanges. The TSX Venture Exchange also has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.

The exchange has its corporate headquarters in Calgary Alberta, and its operations headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia with additional offices in Toronto and Montreal. DT

            Jul 17, 2023 17:25 PM

Hi DT, Yes it is headquartered in Calgary and was founded on the day that the Vancouver exchange closed. In 2001, the Toronto Stock Exchange acquired the Canadian Venture Exchange, which was renamed the TSX Venture Exchange in 2002.

    Two thoughts:
CNBS announced today that Blackrock the Behemoth Fund, added a representative from Aramco to their Board (Is that an indication of who owns some of The Fed?)
And Yesterday Heliostar was hit downward on no news. Then today they announce some good drill results.
Meanwhile the SEC tries to decide what color to paint the Executive Bathroom.

      Jul 18, 2023 18:10 AM

Despite the majority of my stocks being green, it took them 2 and one-half hours to take it red as is the norm (Schwab) to negate early gains. IB is currently barely green despite 90% being green, with Magna taking the majority of the hit again.
