Market rotation broadens beyond big tech, gold equities attract generalist capital, and energy stocks set up for future revaluations.

This weekend’s KE Report brings two perspectives – Mike Larson of MoneyShow breaks down equity rotation, Fed uncertainty, and precious metals momentum, while Dan Steffens of Energy Prospectus Group highlights natural gas fundamentals, oil market geopolitics, and M&A-driven opportunities in energy equities.

He also shares his bullish outlook on gold and mining equities, cautious but constructive views on copper and energy, the long-term promise of LNG and nuclear, Ethereum’s relative strength versus Bitcoin, and why the U.S. dollar looks structurally weak compared to commodities and foreign equities.

  • Segment 3 & 4 – Dan Steffens, President of the Energy Prospectus Group, discusses the continued weakness in natural gas due to high storage levels and mild weather, the political and geopolitical pressures keeping oil prices rangebound, and why he remains bullish long-term given LNG export growth, AI-driven electricity demand, and infrastructure constraints, while also highlighting opportunities in companies like Inplay Oil, Riley Exploration Permian, and Viper Energy following transformative acquisitions.

BDC, are you a short shill? DT

        Aug 23, 2025 23:50 PM

For those who don’t know what a shill means, this definition comes out of The American Heritage Dictionary of The English Language:

A shill is one who works as a decoy, as in a confidence game, by posing as a customer or an innocent bystander. DT

DT: Why do you attack the messenger who merely describes reality. The possibility that what passes for naked shorting in Canada (lack of enforcement) is great, per information that you have provided here at KE Report.

DT, your first mention Of HydroGraph here at KER, at least per Grok, was around July 18th. After that it’s unclear until July 28th onward, when your ongoing extensive promotion has become increasingly obvious to all who care.

DT, only then, later that week, did I first learn of HydroGraph Clean Power and the great opportunity to document, from the beginning, a true breakout from near zero. Most breakouts once had very high pricing, from which they collapsed, obviating their usefulness in this regard.

DT, unfortunately July 28th onward was after the best final window for purchase, which was the breakout week of July 21st (see charts). How much did you mention HydroGraph that week?

DT (Dick Tracy), you have impugned my reputation and character. If I do not receive an apology soon, on this thread, I will contact Canadian legal support and follow through. BDC

            Aug 23, 2025 23:44 PM

BDC, I did not mean to impugn your reputation and character I was just questioning your motives. I think we should let bygones be bygones. DT

            Aug 23, 2025 23:09 PM

Isn’t this HG hype small potatoes compared to developments in China, such as recent Thorium news, which is not well reported in western press?

            BDC
            Aug 23, 2025 23:28 PM

DT: Thank you for trying, but you made a direct accusation, via a question, of “shilling”. For this, in particular, please apologize. BDC

P.S. I am not a ‘shill’ and can prove it powerfully.

            Aug 23, 2025 23:18 PM

Hi BDC, I do not know anything about your personal life, I’m sorry I hurt your feelings. I didn’t call you a shill I just asked you if you were one and now I know you are not. Lets put this behind us. I enjoy your posts and I think we can get along. (ps. if you can get along with me you can get along with anyone) DT

      Aug 23, 2025 23:42 PM

BDC…..Do you insist on being the odd man out on pretty simple metrics? Hydrograph is on the way to changing the world as we know it. They will make business more efficient, revolutionize military readiness! RR

        Aug 23, 2025 23:26 PM

Rod Robinson, please don’t confuse the stock market with the company; a few days ago I posted this:

“Their [HydroGraph] product is very likely viable and useful, and a worthy addition for coming events; however, its uniqueness is questionable. I can think of variations off the cuff, without much effort — all of them original, at least to me.”

Engineering has run in my Detroit based family for decades. Both sides. I will not go into details at this time, considering the above legal statement. BDC

RR: In addition, I am neutral on HydroGraph, particularly from the charting pov, but cannot help but notice how many folks are ‘on the same side of the ship’. BDC

Short Sighted HydroGraph Short Sellers! Jay Taylor and Kerry Landis (nuclear engineer) lay out the compelling story of HydroGraph and what the misinformation is surrounding this stock. This is not a pump and dump as others would have you believe. DT

Short Sighted HydroGraph Short Sellers. Here is a video recorded just two days ago and just released this morning. In it Jay Taylor interviews Kerry Landis (nuclear engineer) and it explains what is going on with this company. It gives you the real story, it is not a “Pump and Dump”, as others would have you believe with their misinformation. DT

DT, the HG story looks like small potatoes compared to the Thorium story coming from China.

        Aug 24, 2025 24:24 PM

Hi Terry, I think the next big story from China is when they build a robot that can reason and think like humans and the next step after that is when the robots start looking at us as expendable. Graphene like HydroGraph has will only speed up that process. Technology is moving so fast that a lot of commodities that are now mined will be produced by robots in a lab. DT

      Aug 23, 2025 23:42 PM

Lots of hangers on to the HG story, scumbags and bottom feeders filing patents, looking for a financial advantage a big American Capitalist mess.

The bull market in precious metal stocks began months ago and has a looooooong ways to go. Don’t give up your positions easily. The Fed is going to loosen with inflation holding at unacceptable levels and the long term bond markets on the monthly charts are still signalling the 2nd leg in the bond market bear probably beginning sometime in the next year. Stagflation is still with us. The oil market is still under pressure as are their stocks but over the next year will be a good spot to begin an investment. Tangible assets will be the place to be in the near and distant future. I’m personally in the highest % of stocks I’ve been in 5 years and adding with very few positions outside of metals and commodities. It reminds me of the 70s but even better.

      Aug 23, 2025 23:54 AM

      DOC.
Not just PM stocks but this is good for all markets. With king Russell joining party, the rally is broadening across the board and going to continue with financials, housing stocks, industrials, cryptos etc etc. Look at the chart of AAL, DAL does it look like economy is going to roll over anytime soon? There’s trillions on sidelines and soon that money will be finding home in sectors that are ignored. Very bullish on TSLA, Ether, Silver, Mag7.

        Aug 23, 2025 23:29 PM

I still have no good reason to change my view that stocks are in a topping mode on the price charts (they’ve already topped by other metrics). This September’s rate cut will probably be like the September 2007 rate cut that came 3 or 4 weeks before the top. Like back then, this cut is happening for very negative reasons. Historically, rates rise with stocks and fall with stocks which makes perfect sense.
Remember that major stock market tops happen when almost no one believes stocks can fall.
Take a look at the action from 2001 to 2008:
        https://schrts.co/ijszwwnq

The wild card this time is the bond market. It is in a long term bear now for the first time in many decades and that could put a big bid under a lot big stocks. I’ll be watching…

Bond Market Crisis: Why this looks like 2007-2008 all over again! If Livermore is right don’t bet against the market as soon as it starts to fall get out, and buy back in later after the fall. DT😊

          Aug 23, 2025 23:10 PM

Hi Matthew. I agree with you and Michael Oliver that most stocks are topping, but what do you think about the oil majors? In the 1930s the oils crashed while gold stocks went up 6 fold. In the 1970s the oils and gold stocks both went up a lot while the DJIA went down. So will the oils go up with gold this time or will they go down with most stocks?

            Aug 23, 2025 23:30 PM

I’m waiting for the right time to buy oil stocks, not sell them. In real terms, oil is cheaper now than when it was $15 in the 1990s and still every bit as necessary so don’t expect a collapse from here. I think it could take out its April low by a few dollars but I doubt it will dip below $50 unless the stock market suffers a panic.

          Aug 23, 2025 23:05 PM

Is a top and subsequent fall correlated with beginning of rate cutting cycle? Is it likely PM stocks will also fall?

      Aug 23, 2025 23:21 PM

Hi Doc, I agree with you about gold and silver stocks gong much higher, but what do you think of the big oils stocks now? I sold my JNJ@171 and put the money into RGLD@159 a couple of weeks ago and now the RGLD is higher than JNJ. What do you and Chad think of HGRAF? DT, Jay Taylor, and Moriarity like it but Matthew does not. It’s Jay Taylor’s biggest holding.

        Aug 23, 2025 23:09 PM

Bonzo, I don’t dislike it. I just missed it and don’t like (my perception of) the risk now present on the chart. And since I missed it, I haven’t taken the time to look at it closely from a “boots on the ground” perspective. So I don’t actually know if I should like it or not. I do hope you make a lot of money with it though.

          Aug 23, 2025 23:37 PM

Hi Matthew, until 2 days ago I felt the same way about HGRAF as you. But I spent several hours listening to discussions of HGRAF on Jay Taylor’s site and now wonder if buying HGRAF now might be like buying Apple or Walmart 40 years ago, or Standard Oil 140 years ago. Maybe we have only missed the 1st dollar.

Looking for some advice. I’ve used Bigcharts for over 25 years. They became another casualty in the restructuring that is taking place since Paramount bought CBS. What charting services are used by the traders on these pages? Bigcharts allowed one to dashboard about 50 stocks and to easily delete or add.
Just wondering if others on this page used the same site. If not, what do you use.

      Aug 24, 2025 24:03 PM

I also miss Bigcharts as I liked their analyst estimates of earnings and stock price predictions.
Where can we get those now?

        Aug 24, 2025 24:24 PM

I used their option chain charts, now what

DRD has quadrupled since gold bottomed almost 3 years ago and has doubled YTD. Now it looks ready to blast off again…

      Aug 24, 2025 24:12 PM

Thanks for the DRD chart. Do you own it? I bought some over 30 years ago when it was Jim Blanchard’s favorite gold stock in the Gold Stock Newsletter. It was a miner back then but now makes its money reclaiming gold from old waste dumps, which is profitable at current gold prices. But the politics of South Africa is a worry. I guess I’ll hold my DRD till gold gets to 8K

Barrick is having a great month and still has huge upside from here.
    https://schrts.co/kmcxJHGg

      Aug 24, 2025 24:06 PM

You’re right. Chart action says Barrick will hit $40 by winter.

        Aug 24, 2025 24:35 PM

On that chart, notice that it broke out with the June close based on the 2011 and 2020 high closes but only broke out this month based on the absolute highs of 2011 and 2020. It pays to keep an eye on both as those who bought the June breakout did so at a lower price and with less competition from other bulls.
$40 by winter could very well be conservative under the circumstances.

    Aug 24, 2025 24:20 PM

hi, Matthew. When you said you bought dvs, i did too. after, listened to ceo interview. he was very optimistic for future. could be nice investment. thank you. the best.

      Aug 24, 2025 24:59 PM

Hi Alex, DVS and many others have truly spectacular possibilities in this bull market but always remember to lock in your profits along the way as the market can take them away quickly and when you least expect it.
Looks like a 9 year breakout in the making on this quarterly chart:
      https://schrts.co/RtvddDKH

        Aug 25, 2025 25:34 AM

I bought my DVS @ 1.78 and 1.99 and plan to hold it till silver is much higher.

          Aug 25, 2025 25:32 AM

          Good plan, Bonzo!

great chart, tells a lot. really appreciate your guidance. Best regards.
