Erik Wetterling – A Chasm Of Opportunity Has Opened Up In Multiple Metals Stocks

[Recorded on Monday March 23rd, 2026] Erik Wetterling, Founder and Editor of The Hedgeless Horseman website, joins me for a candid discussion on metals sector volatility, and the increasing disconnect we are seeing in the valuation that many of the gold, silver, and copper stocks are receiving after a violent sector correction in March.

Many of the advanced explorers and developers have market caps that have cratered when compared to the value of their defined resources in the ground are worth, even after the large correction in the underlying metals prices.

Erik is utilizing this correction to value-shuffle into positions that have built further value but are selling off due to the general negative market sentiment.

  • “Volatility is the poor man’s dry powder.”
  • He points to all the opportunities to take advantage of panic-selling, through micro-trading amongst positions that have held up better and those seeing disproportionate selling or that have lagged despite positive news catalysts.

He points out that: “What you do in a serious market correction is going to set your portfolio up for years into the future.”

  • “I can’t afford to sell the lows of a correction, especially if I know where the long-term trend is going over the next few years”

We review the valuation disconnects between the market caps of companies that have corrected by 30%-60% just in the month of March, versus where the NPV of the projects still are at anywhere near spot metals prices.

  • “With the gold juniors, you don’t really care if gold is at $5,500 or $4,500 because that is already so much overkill.”
  • “The lower this sector goes with this panic-selling, the odds increase that there are new multi-baggers being born everyday from these valuation levels.”

Erik is seeing compelling valuations in the silver and copper developers, in the 2nd leg of the Lassonde Curve, as well as the legitimate gold juniors, with 3rd-party validation and large strategic investors adding value to projects of merit.

Wow Matthew. Those latest hits by Brixton are stellar. Could be the perfect time for them to be drilling Langis.

That’s the same flag I have been seeing, but less transparent than you lol..I’m loaded to the tits, excuse my language, please. While I’m here, thank you for being the one 2 years ago who sent me to this company, so i give you the respect.

I’m loaded from 5 cents, and now it’s my second largest position after IAMGOLD. I’m in very heavy.

Yes, wolf insane finds and are now considered some of the best hits in the last decade.. This is a no-brainer

Sad truth DT sold out long ago lol…He better not say he is in we will pull out the chats..lol

Hi Glen, I got in tonight at 2 minutes before the close, for $1.10 CDN. I haven’t owned any Brixton for years, in fact I can tell you what I paid for them back then it was 13 cents CDN. After I bought today, someone paid $1.15 and that was where BBB closed. You should know I don’t hold stocks like you for years, these stocks are trading cards for me. By the way I know at one point you had 75,000 shares of IPT, have you sold them or do you still hold them! DT

(PS. when I saw BBB selling for $1.10 at the close I couldn’t help myself, hence the term the hair of the dog)

Now I have to watch this stock to see whether my reasoning was validated and if so I will add another tranche. By validated I mean did it go up from my buy today.

            Thanks for sharing DT..

I don’t always hold the for years lol. I also don’t announce all my trades here. Yes, I do still have IPT and have added at these recent lows. Another company I hold is USA. To wish I had bought a truckload, but that’s life.

Priced in dollars or gold, Brixton gapped up big today but I would be a buyer anyway if I wanted more shares. I would be much more likely to wait for a pullback if the gap wasn’t driven by worthy news.

Looks like PM mining stocks are behaving like they are tethered to general stock market. Vix is 25 and that’s not good. I expect more grinding until Vix goes to low teens .. maybe another shoe to drop.

haha, speaking of ipt i still have a “ton” of this stock. i always thought it would go back to it’s highs when silver popped! but of course it didn’t. i know matthew use to follow it & liked it back then. think it’s worth holding on to this or is it just a pipe dream? thx dw

I never stopped following it and my current share count is 7 figures. I don’t see it as a pipedream but I believe we will find out this year.
