Weekend Show – Mike Larson & Doc – The SaaS-pocalypse vs. The Silver Supercycle: Navigating the 2026 Market Shift
The start of 2026 has been defined by a dramatic shift in market leadership. While the AI-driven tech giants face increasing pressure over massive capital expenditures and industry disruption, a “Great Rotation” is underway. This weekend, we explore the cooling of the tech sector and the heating up of the “Real Economy”, specifically the precious metals and energy sectors, where structural supply issues and fiscal stimulus are creating a powerful floor for prices.
- Segment 1 & 2 – Kicking off the Weekend Show is Mike Larson, Editor-in-Chief at MoneyShow. Mike discusses recent market trends including the rotation from big tech and AI stocks into real-economy sectors like energy and materials, as well as the ongoing volatility and long-term bullish outlook for precious metals.

- Segment 3 & 4 – Richard Postma (aka “Doc”), wraps up the show to provide a technical analysis of current precious metal charts, forecasting a healthy corrective phase for gold and silver before a continued long-term move higher. Doc highlights specific opportunities in major producers and mid-tier developers like Equinox Gold, Coeur Mining, Hecla, Silvercorp, Americas Gold and Silver, and Integra Resources, while also discussing his shift toward energy and infrastructure stocks.

There is some concern about BTE planned divestiture of US assets and becoming a totally Canadian company. Does Doc have an opinion on this strategy?
Hi Terry, when you mention BTE do you mean Baytex Energy Corp., symbols are like acronyms I feel it is always good to include the name so others know exactly what you are referring to. DT
DT can you work on your punctuation, maybe take a grade 12 English class and learn about colons, semicolons, commas and full stops.😂
Terry I believe Baytex already has divested its US assets to pay off it’s debt and focus on Canadian assets.

December 19, 2025 – “Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX: BTE) (NYSE: BTE) today announced that it has closed the sale of its U.S. Eagle Ford Assets for net proceeds of US$2.14 billion (approximately $2.96 billion in Canadian dollars) after closing adjustments.”
“This strategic divestiture significantly strengthens Baytex’s financial position and sharpens its focus on a high-return Canadian energy platform, positioning the Company for long-term value creation.”

You know it is really hard these days to know what is real and what isn’t. There are a lot of fake AI generated videos on you tube. I have talked about this before but it is still worth mentioning, and I believe that the people that produce these fakes are getting better at it all the time. There will be a point in the future where it will be extremely hard to access the truth if not impossible. The internet is going the way of mainstream media. DT
How China’s ‘Unruly’ Speculators Might Be Fueling The Frenzy In Gold Market
Lee Ying Shan – CNBC – Fri, Feb 13 2026
“Gold’s wild price swings in recent weeks are increasingly being linked to speculative trading in China by some analysts, with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent attributing the heightened volatility to ‘unruly’ Chinese activity.”
“Gold prices jumped to a record high of $5,594 per ounce on Jan. 29 only to plummet nearly 10% the next day in its sharpest drop in decades. Since then, the yellow metal has struggled to consistently stay above the 5,000 level.”
“While broader factors such as U.S. interest-rate expectations and geopolitical tensions continuing to drive bullion demand, some analysts believe Chinese retail and institutional investors are playing an outsized role in driving volatility.”
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who spoke on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, described the move bluntly. “The gold move thing, things have gotten a little unruly in China … They are having to tighten margin requirements. So gold looks to me kind of like a classical, speculative blowoff.”

Opportunities in Growth-Oriented Silver Producers – Part 15

According to Elon Musk we are in the final stage where disruptive AI technology replaces almost all jobs in the workforce. White collar jobs are particularly at risk because they involve shuffling information which is an easy fit for computer based technology. Imagine an office tower with 300 employees one laptop using this new technology can do the work of all those employees in a more efficient manner then they are capable of and this is now. The companies that deploy this new technology will thrive those that don’t will wither and die. You can’t stop technology, if it gives one country or one business an edge over their competitors the companies that remain will be those that instantly adopt to using AI.
We as investors must look at the commodities which are the most adaptive to be used in AI going forward. That is why I like Pure Graphene as an investment, there are others but like AI these can change rapidly in an evolving economy that is constantly in flux.
If you are interested in the future which is now listen to Musk in this new video, you will be amazed. DT
